Description
For hundreds of years, humanity had overcome every obstacle that stood in its path: it had conquered nature and slain the other predators, it had conquered its own physical limits with technology, it had conquered the skies and the stars with imagination and determination. However, in humanity's exploration of the stars and planets, they found true rivals.
With its early stage of space civilization and host of unsolved internal struggle, humanity hadn't been ready to take on the enemy. On the losing end of interstellar war, a last resort was made, a sacrifice in the present for the sake of the future. If all that was needed was time to develop the counters to humanity's enemies, then time was what was given. The best minds would gather and open the future via the prototype, in the hopes that it would save whatever remained of humanity.
This is the story of Gamma Base.

- Astral CrystalRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style: The style is great, although in moments of action or technology shenanigans it can become a bit confusing. The whole Mecha Apocalypse theme is definitely there and it's shown well with the descriptions of the environments.
Story: The story is great, at first I thought this would be similar to a dungeon core novel but it's more like the mc working with humans for the progression of the humans and the mc and his base. The mysteries are interesting and I only have a nitpick in the way that the mc is rediscovering what was originally had access to so it feels like the progress is not making new stuff but simply regaining what they once had. But this is not a bad thing it's just my personal opinion, it does fit more plot wise since it's an apocalypse story.
Grammar: It's great, almost no errors.
Characters: The characters are great, the mc definitely acts like an AI but still has its own personality moments and I like his attitude when it comes to humans. The human characters are also good and I like them but since the story has barely started they still need a bit more characterization. They definitely have more personality then the mc but that makes sense since it's an AI. - FlowingiceRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Review for Mecha Dungeon Apocalypse (Book 1)
Mecha Dungeon is an exhilarating blend of dungeon-building, LitRPG, and mecha warfare, set in a gripping post-apocalyptic world. From the very first chapter, the story pulls you in with its high-stakes conflict and immersive world-building.
The protagonist's journey is both compelling and well-paced, with a perfect balance of strategy, action, and growth. The concept of Gamma Base as humanity’s last stronghold against interstellar threats adds depth to the setting, making the stakes feel real and urgent. The mecha battles are well-described, delivering the right mix of tactical depth and sheer destructive power.
One of the standout elements is how the dungeon-building mechanics integrate with the sci-fi elements. The combination of resource management, base development, and evolving threats keeps the tension high and the reader engaged. The LitRPG aspects feel natural, enhancing the story without overwhelming it with stats or mechanics.
Falcon167’s writing style is fluid and engaging, making it easy to get lost in the book. The pacing is solid, and while some moments could use more development, the overall experience is highly enjoyable. If you’re a fan of sci-fi, dungeon-building, or LitRPG stories, Mecha Dungeon Apocalypse is definitely worth reading. I’m looking forward to seeing where the story goes next! - ShadowKnight6992Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0So the grammar is good, I didn’t see any immersion breakers.
the side characters are wonderful, especially the gradual introduction to them and their factions.
the plot so far is actually pretty developed like you introduced the past and the reasons why about the vault, you introduced the factions and you even made the characters enjoyable in only 17ch which is really well done especially with no massive info dumps.
the only thing that weird and I might’ve skipped it. the Mc Was built essentially as a war a.i but so far even with threats present or unknowns showing up he hasn’t attacked anyone or thing like you would think the first thing to be built are like assaultrons from fallout where it can do what you want or be Programmed and it’s good for most things and can definitely stand up for itself cause so far this war a.i is really passive even when the enemies of mankind which it was built for are attacking it.
