The story is fast paced and at the beginning and well throughout the entire books, the theme of trauma and how you never ever get over it is explored. The MC has survived more abuse, and oppression then a whole ward of patients. To the point that she fractures. What starts out as a mask becomes full blown psychosis, that with the aid of he AI and sweet Mary all the boom boom a girl can play with, she surrvives. Read have fun!

You should read this story. I know thats a simple way to start off a review, but if you just want to know if its good, it is. Should you read it? Definitely.
I love this addition to the over SCS pantheon because it actually feels the most true to form cyberpunk that I've read thusfar. The main character is a corpo slave, has had her life ruined and forever altered, and has to deal with the consequences of a mistake she made when she was 12 while the world tries to crush her at every turn.
And then a building falls on her. From that point, I think its perfectly reasonable to get a little unhinged. Our lovely little crackrunner takes this and runs with it, quickly becoming an infamous threat to society: Maniac. This, of course, has consequences.
Beside her are our lovely side cast of hot gays, including crowd favorites like: Bubble Bomb, Cotton Candy Twitch Streamer, and our favorite, The really cool work wife that helps you hide the body. Together they will attempt to get our main character to chill for like 3 minutes or at least learn how to communicate while she panics her way through the plot.
Did I mention she gets 3 different buildings dropped on her? You've gotta read this.

So, being me, I really like the nut-bars. Maniac is a wild ride, I've found to have an endearing trait. Despite the Romance, which is not really my thing. There's enough combat, unique situations and general comradery that I'm still hooked in and enjoying things. Maniac has the right amount of crazy and earnest desire to help her fellow man that really scratches the itch for fun but wholesome. All the while having a deep dark plot that makes you yearn for the stupid corpos to take a swan dive out a window.

Maniac's Mayhem is a captivating story that really scratched that itch that SCS left.
Evelin is developing her own unique fighting style and samurai quirks.
can't wait to see more of her railgun implant.
Along with all of the Antithesis she has the fight, there are variety of personal problems stemming from her employment... cough... cough... slavery.
Which I think it will sort of even out the power creep, letting there still be action without constant jumps in power level.

I am really enjoying the darker side to the SCS universe. It is very well handled, which is something I was worried about going in. I like that Evelin has her own "superpower" with her hacking abilities and the writing is some of the best paced I've seen on Royal Road. Also I really like the other characters.

Corpo woman who has been indentured into slavery, used abused and treated like garbage, get's selected to join the Vanguard. She develops her own manic style of handling the Antithesis, and the human scumbags that have been enslaving her and others.
The story has a good story, likeable characters, and an interesting MC. She has a few quirks and a lot of challenges ahead of her.  Teamed up with her very eccentric AI she faces off against both invading aliens and the evil that is humanities top rung of society.

I'm loving this so far, I loved it in the fan fic contest and I'm so glad it got continued.  Lovely characterisations, fun interactions, and horrible families.  The characters are nicely filled out, and the MC is a hoot.  I'm so glad this got continued and that I get to read it.

Evelin's journey through the crazy landscapes of both Samurai and Corporate existence makes for a great pair of counterpoints into two very different but equally twisted versions of RavenDagger's reality. Sometimes, it's just great to go on a righteous rampage and inflict absolute havoc on some extremely unpleasant MFers. Put on some loud, defiant music, settle back, and enjoy.

Most Cyber-Punk literature, of which Stray Cat Strut is one, has the “Corpo” (Corporations) as the Evil/Despot side of humanity. This story is no different and explores a woman who is indentured on a contract with vile people holding the leash. The woman becomes a Samurai; someone who is empowered to fight the ongoing Alien Invasion. Now we have a person who had NO power as a slave, suddenly have enormous power. What will she do?Style: The story is pretty much First Person. Friends and love interests are introduced as the story progresses and fairly consistently. The POV does switch a bit, but not often.Story: The story has a good catch and the pacing is good. Lots of action that doesn’t get too bogged down. The MC does dip into the Evil side herself as she straight up murders people. So far she has no problem with this.Grammar: So far I’m pleased that the grammar is excellent.Characters: The MC is very nicely fleshed out with an underdog’s attitude and tons of baggage. She winds up as an Anti-Hero. The Corpo characters are nicely evil with no redeeming traits; we don’t miss them when they get their rewards. The side characters are not as well constructed, but that could change in future chapters.I’ve enjoyed this and look forward to more chapters.

Everything except the grammar is good. Story is engaging, characters fleshed out, etc...
The grammar tho. Well... it's not actually that bad. The dialogue, both internal and external, and the prose both lack contractions that disrupt my immersion.
The story, characters and style are all great though. Definitely give it a read!
