A glitch, a defect, an unexpected rollout. The world would take years to settle on what to call the disastrous event that led to people being pulled into their own video games. For teenager Blake Thompson and his younger sister Kayla, it was the start of a shocking adventure.

As Blake is pulled into the massive online multiplayer game he’d been obsessing over for months, he finds himself a helpless character within it. Kayla, who’s never played a video game in her life, remains in their home, watching Blake inside the TV from their couch. Now, if Blake wants any chance to survive, she must take the controls to aid her brother in his journey through the game.

As the software bug spreads over the world, the game becomes an increasingly dangerous and confusing place to live, and Blake and Kayla must decide how far they are willing to go to keep Blake alive. And must grapple with the uncertainty of what would happen if they failed.
