Description
An evil corruption wars against a humanity on the brink of defeat, and out of chaos a legend emerges… Cleo, born with an incurable disease, is no stranger to pain and defeat. On the eve of her seventeenth birthday, she is abruptly transmigrated to another realm fighting against a corrupted horde of undead—and losing. Desperately afraid of dying, Cleo stubbornly puts her foot down and chooses a unique class card that could not only forge her a path to legendary status, but will also make her a target of power-hungry individuals and the malignant forces behind the corruption. To survive and grow stronger, Cleo will have to progress quickly and somehow stay alive. But in a strange world like a fish out of water, where she doesn’t know who is a friend and who is an enemy, surviving is easier said than done. And to succeed, she must not risk just her life but her very soul… This series is epic fantasy LitRPG with progression elements, and features a distinctive card-based magic system, and new magic system discoveries. Updates on Friday. Patreon is nine chapters ahead - aiming for ten.🎨 Cover by BenMoran Art [https://www.artstation.com/minhanhnh]

Will do another review after a few more chapters to see if this turns out well...

Life is hard, undead abound. The weak get killed for their heart and skill cards. Plots within plots. An academy looms where two very different fmc will probably meet.
Extremely well edited and typo free. I expect this to be far more than fight monsters, get stronger, fight stronger monsters. Rinse and repeat for a long, enjoyable time - L.D.B.Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5I am loving it so far, brilliant characters and characterization. Good grammar too.
The only thing that I would like to suggest be improved is the style at the start. It starts with quite the info dump, which can put off quite a lot of readers at the start. This does improve as the book goes on, but the average Royal Road reader has an extremely small attention span, so I suggest that you instead try to show the system rather than telling us about it a lot at the start. Just blend it into the chapters! - RobtpRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I've read all of the 25 chapters currently available in a couple of days. I'm hugely enjoying the book and will definitely continue to read new chapters as they are uploaded. I liked the storyline, the different characters with obviously converging narrative. The world is convincing. The characterisation is good.
There are times, where jarring sentence structure, especially, overuse of commas, has pulled me out, of my absorption in the story but it's very much a credit to the author that I got to that point of absorption in the first place. - UrsusSquadRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is still pretty early in the story to get a firm feel of it, but I'm enjoying this world a lot!
I've never been one for the card based interchangeable skills and whatnot as a base system, but I've been loving the feel of this story.
World has lots of grittiness and realistic reactions and characterizations. The people flow naturally, it doesn't really feel clunky or like the MC is the center of their universe. It feels like the characters have their own lives and the MC is just doing her best to navigate through it in this beginning part. Which makes sense as most people don't drop everything in their lives for some random person that's just passing through.
Nice to have a story where the MC isn't just immediately able to handle all stress. Cleo seems to have a full range of emotions and, though mentally tough, still reacts like a person experiencing a huge culture shock while trying to survive sickness, while while trying to survive the world... In short she's got a lot to deal with and she's doing her best, but is still able to fall short in some ways. Which is nice, because she's just starting her story and seeing someone's character growth is a major part of story development.
I suppose any low point I'd point to, if asked, would be the cat. It seems like he could have been removed so far without much changing. It's still early in the story, so I'm pretty sure he'll get more important as time goes on, but at the moment he kind of seems like a weird unnecessary plot device that could have been removed without much effort after the transmigration part. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.
Can't wait to see how this story goes, keep up the fantastic work! - SarenAspireRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The story template follows a fairly typical start for lit-rpg styles: A modern day person pulled into another world where she is unaware of the customs and common sense of the local world.
Still, it's refreshing insofar as the main character is believable and imperfect. It's early on in the story still where I have read up to, so the world building is just beginning.
I look forward to the antics of Cleo (who's not a princess) and Mau, the rather unintelligent cat, who is convinced that she is.
