Aster can’t let them keep pretending that there’s nothing that can be done about the Darkening. Aster doesn't feel like she has any other choice but to fight their fate that has been assumed inevitable, and prove that those who are Tainted can be treated and stabilized. She feels compelled to give them hope and bring them healing, while feeling woefully inadequate to be the one who does.
