Description
The death of the Hero reset the timeline. That wasn't what Lucy had intended when she made that last soul attack while dying. But she returned to Earth and tried to do the obvious thing: use her knowledge of the future to dominate the System's five realms. Except A: She messed up and got this 'Shard of Totality' thing stuck in her eye. B: Her Status is broken. And C: The Hero remembers everything, and has his own agenda involving her other identity, Adrianna RIftmire. She could be doomed. But as a master of soul magic and former Archmage, she's not defenceless. And this might just be her best chance to permanently defeat the Hero of Light, whose powers distort destiny to ensure his success… is unpreventable. - Slow burn. - Long chapters. - Revenge - Magic + Physical Combat - Snek sidekick - A bit of organisational management and politics. - This will have a romance subplot... after Chapter 500 or something. Incredibly far away. Forget about it for now. Chapter releases: M-F

- Kirai9000Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Found this on Sufficient Velocity and enjoying this a lot. Currently on chapter 35, so before it speeds up I believe. I think the setting is a fun combination of different settings and blends them together well. While I usually don't like litrpgs, as they tend to have too much 'number go up', this actually pulls it off well. I like the characters a lot so far as well. Having a 'villain' protagonist is fun, and I think you pull off showing her through multiple perspectives well.
- MaloryRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It would be a shame if everything in this world was the same. There are millions of fast-paced 1k chapter isekai novels on RR and, if they are your bag, you can easily find enough of them to introduce you until the end of time.
So, there’s no point in talking about what this novel is not, much more sensible to focus on what it is.
It needs us to start talking about the style first - because that is both a key strength and, for me, a potential weakness. This is a SLOW burn. As in, chapter one is about 10k words long. That is a clear choice and I can see that or works with the overall vibe of the tale. I like the ambition and the epic, somewhat operatic, approach to having a chapter be this dense and this full of info and worldbuilding notes. But, on the other hand, my poor attention span...
Grammar is absolutely fine. Obviously, with chapters this long it would be pretty terrible for there to be too many errors - so there’s been some very strong proofreading here.
Character and Story - there’s a lot here. And that’s the point. This is not for the casual dip in and dip out reader. You are going to be expected to commit here and follow the journey. That’s a really big plus point but - again - I worry that there might be some limits here on the audience reach. I hope not as the story is really involving.
Good stuff and this is absolutely worth giving a go - AshtelleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0As the author said itself, the chapters were long, and it takes some time to go to the meat of the story, but with the introduction, we got some nice world building.
Lucy is a smug girl, that might come off as a little edgy, with her dark look and power to control her emotions. But she didn't stay in the corner and mop around, she talks to people and make friend.
And is nice to read when everything goes as she plans, because of time travel.
There are a lot of long sentences and a lot of explaining, but when some stuff doesn't need to be said, there's not much of unnecessary things. The author paints detailed images of people and places, and you right away get the atmosphere of the place you were brought to.
It's LitRPG, so of course there's a system. With the way this world function, it really much looks like a game the characters were pulled in, and not some world that just happens to have those systems in place. It's nice, and you have a clear grasp on how all it works.
Although I would say, it's a little confusing on the beginning, and you only need to read more to get your praise of understanding what's going on.
In terms of grammar, there are nothing much to mention, I only spotted missed period and letter. The work was clearly checked and proofread.
Give it a read, just set aside some time for it. - IndigoSparksRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Reading this was an absolute delight!!
Starting off with a basic Game system, with all the regular LitRPG trappings, it quickly takes a turn, introducing us to a time travel element. Something I enjoyed was the Tutorial setup of this particular one. There's something really cool about the way its handled here.
The writing is very clean. Snappy. It really stuck out to me how distinct the voice in this series is. It has a good, strong sense of self and I really enjoyed it. Good action scenes and smooth transitioning from one set piece to another. It doesn't make everything grimdark and angsty, opting for a lighter tone, which still takes the goal seriously.
However, be warned, because the chapters are long. Very long.
Story makes up for the length of each chapter. I find it a fun mix of classic Game elements and this author's own style adding on to it.
Grammar is good. Nothing so far has been pointed out.
Characters... are a little lacking right now. We start off directly with Lucy in the Tutorial, making her way through this Game she understands well. But we don't understand a lot about who she is right now. Not very introspective, and you know what? I respect that. She has a good internal monologue and a very good way of expositing that doesn't make it feel clunky. - ChiruschkaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Grammar/Style
It's good! It flows perfectly, so what should I write about it? I have never any problems orient myself in the world. As such, 5/5.
Worldbuilding
The moment I read it, it was like some Deja Vu, and after some chapters, I actually understood why I got it.
You will be very familiar with this world if you read Korean Manhwas or Novels. There are a lot of familiar elements of the typical tower novel, like SSS-Class Suicide Hunter, The Novel's Extra (especially in the beginning), and many more tower-oriented Korean novels/manhwas.
(There are some more similarities or world elements, like from Return of the Frozen Player, etc.)
Is it bad? Nope! The author took the elements and built an excellent world out of them. So, if you like any of those novels/manhwas, feel free to read the novel since the world is great.
Characters
Take The Alchemist from SSS-Class Suicide Hunter, give her a more stern personality (which she had later on, tbh), and combine it with the typical Korean protagonist.
It is actually nice to see that rather than taking a brand new character and hyper-rationalizing them into a low-fantasy world. The author took and refined their MC excellently.
Writing characters with standard personalities is not bad, and I prefer it a lot if it is done well. There is a reason why people like to read stories with such characters. 5/5.
Story
Now, can you say that the story is standard? Would you call every Hero's journey a copy? Not really.
However, you need to like the certain genre and style I mentioned before to get into it. It is a fine story, but I don't see till now if it is actually a revenge story or anything of the sort like the tags suggested.
Let me warn you about something: It is a slow burn, a very slow one, but it appears that there are the main story and many smaller ones weaved into the main one, so it doesn't actually get boring.
It's good, 5/5. - HughgentRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm enjoying this story.
It's a long story. Much like real life, a lot of stuff happens in a short amount of time. A conversation might take up ten pages of text, but only play out over 15 minutes of time. With this in mind, people talk a lot in the story.
Not to say that the characters don't 'do' anything. Since we follow the protagonist for the most part, they're constantly doing, or thinking, or talking to people regularly. As such, there is plenty of things happening.
The chapters are 'long' even when they're chopped in half as the posting style suggests. I'm personally enjoying the ability to get re-immersed every time I read a post.
I think this story is worth the time and effort required to read. - BankruptGreekRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The world building and setting are really good, keeping me interesting in what the future holds on a larger scale, as it doesn't just revolve around the MC.
The MC has a refreshing personality, as in intelligent and making normal decisions, usually novels like this that have regression elements say the MC is old and mature but they act like a 12 year old, this novel doesn't do that thankfully.
The only reason this isn't a five star for me is the the huge amount of politics which I think the blurb doesn't really mention to much, as in it says there is some, but 90% of the novel so far is politics. Its done in an interesting way, usually I hate politics but it's kept me interested here. However some more action, which I assume will come later on would be preferable intermittently.
Also keeping me from saying 5 stars is the changing perspectives, I understand it, but it's not personally for me.
Overall really good read so far, thanks for the chapters and I'm looking forward to see where the novel goes! - HJekyllRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well written, but there's a lot of Smirking per chapter. Feels like everyone's either Smirking or grinning all of the time, and it gets a little weird.
The author does an excellent job of fixing the problem of an MC that knows too much, by not letting the reader in on everything she knows, and switching perspectives to another character when it starts to get stale. There's maybe a hair too much exposition, but overall well done. - CherMiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a regression revenge litrpg, but one that manages to avoid most pitfalls of such stories. For one, the regression mechanism severely weekend MC and she can't just speedrun getting power just like last time. Another thing is that the vengeance target, the hero, can't just die - last time that triggered timeline reset - so the MC must become a mastermind and subtly weave a web of coincidences around him to prevent him from ruining everything... again.
The description says slow burn and it's no lie. The MC is managing a faction, sponsoring some talents, spies on the hero with her alter ego, etc. A lot is happening and we're following all of it. 69 chapters into the story and it's just been close to a year in-world. That said, this slowness is not artificial. Truly a lot is happening and all of it is fascinating. Sometimes whole scenes are just conversations, but they contribute to characters and worldbuilding.
That bring the next good point - characters. The story is heavily character focused. We follow several PoVs, each with a set of secondary characters, and it's a pleasure to read about all of them. Poor overworked officer and his sadistic commander, depressed demon and his trusty aide, system admin, magic nerd and his manager, a naive prophetess - we got them all and more, and that's aside from the MC (and her alter ego). There is an overall plot made by MC, but all those characters live their own lifes and sometimes don't want to cooperate.
The worldbuilding is incredible and keeps getting better. There are five (plus two secret?) realms, each with their quirks and lore. We also get a bit of system lore, which is fascinating. The system is, I think, ideal for litrpg. There are stats and damage messages during fights, but they make sense. Skills can be created, earned and upgraded, classes can be upgraded, and to advance you must basically complete a simulated tutorial in one of the realms. The system works on the same rules as everything else, so it can b - NeoBasiliskRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am always a sucker for any fantasy novels that have regression or time travel, But most the time I end up, dropping them because our characters start to like they didn’t have all the experience. this often dissolves into a power fantasy full of clichés, leading to me, eventually losing interest. However, from the starting chapters, I fell in love with this story. The world building, and specifically system building or amazing and well thought out. But what shines the most is the characters, specifically the MC. She’s well written I am clearly act like someone who has 250 years have a tumultuous life behind them, and makes decisions with experience and forethought.
