This novel is "diving into a foreign world" at it's best! The pacing is great, there is strong world building and the writing is entertaining while being easy to follow.
Especially the chapters starting with "The Black Market" were some of my favourite novel chapters to read; going along with the ride felt like "Spirited Away" in all the best ways.
I highly recommend giving it a try!

I just finished the Underground Hideout chapter and I’ve really been enjoying the story so far. The way we slowly learn more about Sammy’s powers is really well done. The pacing of the reveals keeps things interesting without feeling rushed.
I like the take on the Fae. I expected elves, but seeing them as a mix of different mythical creatures was a pleasant surprise. I’m looking forward to how that part of the story developes. I also appreciate that the story includes normal people instead of only focusing on the supernatural. If everyone is super, nobody is.
The writing flows well and is easy to follow. I haven’t had any issues. I also like characters who seem pure or harmless but are secretly terrifying to everyone else, often without realizing it. Sammy fits that really well and I’m excited to see where it goes.
