Description

One day, a very boring day. An engineer sick of life was given an opportunity to do more, to be more, to change a world forever. Given warning and time to prepare he readied himself to embark on an adventure unlike any other. Stepping into a world of wonder, he found dragons crosssing the skies betwixt floating islands. Green glowing sanctuaries from the cold dark depths below, where winged people live their lives in peace. At least some of the time. Follow Tom's adventure as he attempts to make a home for himself amongst the clouds, and fights to defend it from all manner of terrors from without and within. Will he change the world? Will it be for the better? Cover art by the amazingHarmaGriffin If you want to support this odd little project I do have aPatreon. You´ll be able to get a chapter two weeks early. Okay, so by looking at the picture, and tags you must be thinking that this is some furry degeneracy. Wrong. Sure, MC gets isekai'd into a world that has no humans. Sure, only possible romantic interest can be one of the locals. Not only most of this story is very wholesome, the romance is not even a factor until decently deep into the story, and does not feel forced.
The action scenes, world-building, character development and larger plot are all of very high quality.
What minor flaws was i talking about? Initial interactions can be seen a little bit unrealistic, but in the end they can be chalked to cultural differences, that are quite significant, as we can see later in the story.
There is an overlooked physics component when describing handeling of a Quad-bike in low gravity environment (Reduced traction is not accounted for, so some stunts should not have been possible)

I binge read through it as soon as I found it.
The world building and character development is very engrossing. Unlike most isekai, the supporting characters get a lot of focus, and it makes the world and cast feel like a lot more than just a vehicle for the MC to show off how great he is, which is where a lot of isekai fall flat.
The romance arc surprised me, I though it was going to go a different way. Lewd scenes are optional external links.
Only complaint would be rare instances of odd grammar, where it sounds like English as a second langauge. These get rarer in later chapters.

Usually I'm trying to avoid unfinished stories, but for some reason I decided to give this one a try when it popped in "OTHERS HAVE ALSO LIKED" section. Initially I was expecting it to be yet another cliche Iseaki story, but I'm very happy that I was wrong.
Characters and interactions between them are just awesome. World itself is unique and interesting.
I just don't have enough words to describe how interesting and addicting it is to read this, considering that I'm spending more than 6 hours of my life doing that every single day.
The really heartbreaking part is that I have less than 40 unread chapters left to enjoy and no idea about what to do next after reading all of them...

A fantastical tale of an isekai solder who is transported into a world full of dragon people and dragons, floating islands and magic. I greatly appreciate stories about engineers such as this one who are trying to improve society all while grappling with concepts of superweapons such as nukes.
There is some romance here and it took 70 chapters to get to it, which is frankly far too damn long but worth it.
The story has a lot of filler, but also a lot of wonderful, adorable and pure moments which feel alive: such as when the hero takes care of kids, protects others, teaches dragonettes to swim and admits he's in love.
All of the characters feel realistic and have solid backstories and flaws.
Author, get a patreon going and hire an editor on fiverr or try live writing with fans in a google doc or something, because there is far too many small errors all over the place like missing words or commas, etc - the story would have gotten a far better rating and way more readers if it wasnt for this minor issue.
The only reason I can ignore this is because English is my 2nd language and I read pretty quick to bother paying attention to such.
update: grammar got better by the most recent chapters.

So I originaly ran into this story on reddit when the author asked if it was ok if they used a few of the ideas from my story. Since like all writers, I'd taken many ideas from others as well, I was pleased to say of course.
Despite having a several month long head start, Tigrs quickly blew past my word count, writting like a madman, (or madwoman? I never asked. 🤔) trying to give form to the breath and scope of of the word they'd envisioned.
While I can't say the grammar is always perfect, I can say the passion is real. Give it a chance, you might like what you see! 😁

First impressions and TLDR - If you've read Conrad Stargard (The Cross-Time Engineer), A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court Mark Twain. Or the more recent and popular Cast Under an Alien Sun (Destiny's Crucible Book 1). You know what this is about.
If you liked those you'll like this. They follow similar themes.
Give it a try anyway there is a good bit to chew into.
    To a longer review.
    Character/Story - It's a good story with a decently flawed MC. You don't get the feeling there is a self-insert or wish-fulfillment.
We see the MC (Tom) go to an Avatar (Blue People) like world of floating islands where dragonettes (bipedal dragon humanoids) live and we get Toms POV and a native's POV for most of the story.
One gripe I'm sure others will have if they are hard sci-fi fans is the aliens are 'near human' in their behavior. That means they seem like a separate culture rather than a different species. Personally, I don't mind they are different enough to feel alien.
Grammar - The sticky point in 99.9999% of novels. There are problems. Just full stop, do not proceed if you need a novel on RR to be perfect.
I don't think the problems that bad. Especially if you've read other novels on RR this shouldn't pose a problem to you. As someone who's read a ton of crappy CN's that seem to be translated by someone who can only type with their face, it's easily readable.
If this was on kindle id be disappointed but not enough to get a refund. Let that be a good standard.
Before this was published it needs to go through an editor's hands.
Overall a good story and I'm looking forward to seeing where the story takes us.

Absolutley love this story, on my favorites list and highly recommend. Really bummed out when I got to the latest chapter, can't wait to see where it goes next. Lost some sleep binge reading, which is a valid measurement for a good story. Grammar mistakes might distract some but it honestly didn't really bother me much.

I have read a lot of light novels the last 5 years and I have only rarely white a review I like this story and style (I am a big fan of dragons) and I give this story 5 stars the first 4 stars for the story
The last star and the reason to I am giving it 5 out of 5 is the MC it is not rare to find a light novel with a Asian or American MC but to find a story with a MC there is Danish like myself is more than rare soo thank

130 chapters in and I'm enjoying the author's efforts.
I read as a stream of consciousness and punctuation errors do not bother me. Some verbiage will make some people stumble but this is RR. You can read those reviewers' comments above/below.
I enjoyed the dual-view perspective. I hope there is possibly a third view in the future.
The hiccup: at the end of Baron's story his team left. Then his team left again. If the intent was watching the departure through both views, it needs some work.
I will finish everything written in this story. Please don't stop or rush an ending.

I've been following HoH for a bit over a year now. All in all, it's one of my favorite bits of fantasy out there, and I don't just say that because I'm currently writing in the universe.
The premise isn't anything unique. The main human character, Tom, gets an opportunity to live on another world. One with floating islands, magic, and populated with dragons and dragon-like humanoids called dragonettes. Where things get interesting is that Tom is an engineer and treats the opportunity like an engineer would. And just like Batman, an engineer with time to prepare can accomplish just about anything.
On the other side, we have Sapphire, the other PoV character. She's our window into the dragonette world. Strong, accomplished, a little arrogant. A person, not just a vehicle for plot.
HoH isn't like most other isekai. Tom is competent, but not overpowered. He's smart, not perfect. He comes into this new world with supplies and new ideas, but he's not in a position to use them. He doesn't even know the language.
At its core, the story is a slice of life, with just enough action thrown around to keep things interesting. Tom is there to change things, and he does it at a pace that makes sense. Stakes go up and down naturally as focus shifts between the big picture and the local keep. Things meander a bit, but that's the slice of life part.
Grammar is the elephant in the room. The early chapters are rough. This does improve quite a bit later on, and it's legible enough. I've seen worse stuff get published on Amazon.
To close out, Hunter or Huntress is both a great story and a fun universe. And sitting at almost 200 respectably long chapters, it's got enough content to satisfy anyone for a long time.
