Description

George is caught in the corporate grind when all of a sudden he is transported, business suit and all, into the fantastical land of Halfmoon Hills.

Here George doesn't have to worry about meetings or paperwork. Instead he has to be concerned about growing crops and harvesting them before the harsh winter and delving deep into the caves for ever more rare materials to help him craft the best implements.

It won't be easy, but luckily he won't have to do it alone. Our hero is surrounded by a quirky cast of local fantasy creatures. The shy elf maiden who runs the bookstore, the fiery redhead who owns the stables, and the cat-girl...who... well... come on now, you don't want me to spoil everything here, do you?

Unfortunately, all is not well in Halfmoon Valley.

This idyllic place has drawn the attention of dark and manipulative forces. Will George and his new companions be able to band together in time to stop their plans from coming to fruition?

And more importantly, when given the chance, will George really choose to abandon his cushy life back home and set up real roots in Halfmoon Valley?

This is a great, low-stakes, cozy novel (with the promise of action), perfect for reading in one or two sittings on a Sunday. Few things can be better than that, right? Our reluctant hero finds himself obligated to farm, only to slowly discover his love for it. The simple life in this magical country wonderfully resonates with me, especially as I increasingly consider doing the same in real life.
Style: A great story with simple prose, direct and with virtually no purple prose. It's just the way I like my web novels, honestly.
Grammar: I didn’t catch any errors. It’s well-written, with good sentence structure.
Characters: The main character is a typical harem-lit MC. Up to the chapter I read, he's shown to be dedicated, concerned about his career, and successful – just how we like to see ourselves. This is a complete win in characterization. I can comfortably step into George's shoes for a while. I haven't seen much of the girls yet, but what I have seen so far is good. I'm honestly anxious to read about the development of their relationships. Even with limited page space, they've already shown personality, which is very important to me in romance novels.
Story: The story is simple and excels because of it. The game aspects are exceptional, making me feel like George is in an old SNES video game, like "Chrono Tiger." I think Hux has something good cooking here, and you should check it out.

Disclaimer: This review is based off of what I've read so far, up through the end of Chapter Six. Do with that as you will.
So, to start out, I just want to say that normally any reviewing I do is just kept to myself. That being said, I feel like this story is the equivalent to hot soup by a warm fire in an old pub while talking to a person you find incredibly kind and inviting. You might be bumbling your words some, but no one cares.
Style: I really enjoy your prose with Halfmoon Hills. It feels like an almost perfect fit for the type of story you're telling here, which really adds to the feeling the events provoke while I'm reading.
It would be pretty difficult to make this much better, though one example I can think of comes up in Chapter 3. There's a moment when I'm not sure if you switched your tenses or if George was thinking and it just wasn't italicized like other places where his thoughts were. Not a big deal, just a very minor detraction.
Story: Obviously, an isekai/LitRPG story is something most people on Royal Road, at least, would be familiar with. I really like that this is a bit of a different take on the genre, where our protagonist ends up in more of a Harvest Moon-esque setting.
Maybe my personal nostalgia for games like that influences me here but I just REALLY love those games and to see them reflected in this story makes me sooo happy. That said, I wouldn't call it totally original story either, but rather a unique, well done take on a loved genre.
Grammar: My biggest hiccup with Halfmoon Hills would definitely be the on the grammar/punctuation side of things. It's not egregious, hence a still relatively high score for this section, but I did notice multiple times where there were grammar or punctuation related issues. When weighed against the rest of the categories to review, that definitely made it your weakest score. However, it did not make it a weak score, if you catch my meaning.
Character: So this, I believe, is where Halfmoon Hills shine

Halfmoon Hills is quite different from the usual genres I read, and I found myself really enjoying it!
For one, the writing style is very clean and crisp, and it made the chapters fly by. There's a good balance of setting description and character thoughts; the writing never feels excessive or too sparse. My one minor critique here is that, especially in the dialogue, I feel like contractions could be used more often. Without them, certain lines can sound a little stiff, though the dialogue is otherwise great.
The grammar is good. There's a few commas missing here and there, but it's nothing severe that would impede your reading experience.
I'm not very far into the story yet, so I can't speak on the main plot. However, I've been really enjoying the worldbuilding so far. You get a good sense of what Halfmoon Hills is like and the kind of people who live there, and I like how the system mechanics are actually integrated into the culture (the short days, for example). There's clearly been a lot of thought put into the way things function, and the setting feels lived in.
I haven't met a lot of characters in depth yet, but all of them have immediately distinguishable personalities. I also like that George also has a clear cut personality; you get a good sense of the kind of person he is from his thoughts and narration, and he isn't just "one thing" either. His love of dogs, for example, was charming and added more layers to him.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable reading experience. If the description sounds appealing to you or if you're looking for a nice, cozy read, definitely give this story a shot!

Half-moon Hills is nice and relaxing novel. Where we follow our protagonist make friends, farm, and maybe even find a way to return home. There is a lot of inspiration from Stardew Valley. With some additions. Mind you, I'm not bashing on the author for it, but I do wish there were more original elements to the story. But from what the description is saying, and what I've read so far. It definetely has the potential to become more than what's its inspired from.
