KINDLE PRE-ORDER IS NOW AVAILABLE. - - - Ever wonder why you hear about so many people getting hit by trucks? Yeah. That’s me. My name is Max. State Trooper by day, and Endr by night. I work for the Bureau of Afterlife Dispatch. It's my job to send the chosen into the next realm to serve their calling. TheEndr App©gives me a route, a set of rules, and a fare I’m not allowed to refuse. The rules are simple: take the job, don’t interfere with other drivers, and don’t get caught. Every run makes me stronger. Every level earns me a bigger vehicle, built to survive things the city pretends don’t exist. But something’s wrong at the Bureau. Assignments don’t line up. Other Endrs are pushing boundaries. And some fares fight back harder than they should. Weird shit is happening. I may be new to this world, but I will figure out what is going on. And if you get in my way, you can Get Trucked! I am loving this book. It features a great main character and exciting action. The author keeps the plot moving along and “one more chapter” gets left by the wayside. Highly recommend—FIVE STARS in every category.
I apologize in advance for any spoilers.
Max is in training for law enforcement when he gets a devastating medical diagnosis. The setting is in Boston area. He meets Dan, who was once in a similar situation and hasn’t aged for twenty years. Dan, a driver for Endr, is ready to stop and gives Max his phone with the Endr app. Max’s new job? To accept assignments hit-and-run assignments so the victim goes to the next world. As Max progresses, he gets better vehicles and weapons.
Does that sound grim? It isn’t at all.
Max is a highly sympathetic and likable character. You find yourself next to Max in the car, and recognize that making one choice leads to all kinds of unplanned consequences. The author has made Max such a fully developed character that you’re fully entertained. There’s lots of humor. There’s lots of action.
There’s such  an authenticity in the writing for that location (and in Acadia) that just felt so real and familiar.
One more note: the writing is excellent overall. It’s breezy, light-hearted, well researched, and polished.

Max the MC is literally a vehicle for isekai. The story and chapters are really well laid out, and the build up is satisfying.  The premise is a little... unsettling but... we're used to theater in our litrpg.
I can't wait until the MC really gets some upgrades... this book is going to be killer... literally...

I am enjoying this work. The characters are well-written and fleshed out. As I read finish each chapter, I find myself unable to put it down, always “one more chapter, I’ll read just one more.” I also want to praise the author’s writing and editing skills. It’s so readable without being over the top, with no grammar or syntax issues. Now back to the book.

I enjoyed the long winded ones previous books in audio book fomat so i tracked him down here to see what else he has done. It is really cool to see a new author tackle multiple genres in his first few books. This new one is much less fantasy oriented than the last but it's off to a great start and I can't wait to read the rest!

If Truck-kun got arealjob he would be working for ENDR. What is written on the tin is what you get: solid premise, down to earth main character, no endless amount of stat screens. The motivations are clear, the pacing is snappy, and the author manages to hide at least a few laughs in each chapter. If the story blurb caught your interest, give this story a shot.

I honestly clicked this thinking it’d be a dumb truck-kun joke and maybe a couple laughs before I moved on. That’s not what happened. It’s still fun and weird, but there’s more going on than I expected. Following the guy who does the sending instead of the one getting sent is a cool angle, and it doesn’t feel like the author is just milking a meme.
The writing is super easy to read. Chapters go by fast, nothing drags, and it doesn’t stop every five seconds to dump stats on you. The system stuff is there, but it stays out of the way. The car upgrades are honestly more fun than most skill trees I’ve read lately.
I didn’t really notice grammar issues. Maybe there’s a typo here or there, but nothing that made me stop or reread anything, which is all I really care about.
Max feels like a real guy, not some OP main character. His friend Cam actually feels like a friend, not just a tag-along, and their conversations sound normal instead of forced. The maybe-romance stuff is chill and not shoved in your face, which I appreciated.
Overall, this is just a good time.

Get Trucked is inspired by the Truck-kun meme, but rather than being a gimmick story it grows into its own from page one.
By far the most enjoyable part of the story is the MC's voice. Max is a working-class everyman in the best way possible, and the first person narration fits him perfectly. It actually reminded me of DCC. Urban fantasy lovers will feel right at home.
Both grammar and writing style are pristine, and they make Get Trucked feel like a very comfortable casual read.
The story itself feels familiar and refreshing at the same tome, being completely genre-aware without simply rehashing tired tropes and patterns.
Now for the "reader beware" part of the review:
Check the story blurb to see what to expect from it. It's exactly what it says on the tin.
That means that if you're looking for system crunch, power fantasies, OP MCs, rapid progression, and other elements commonly found in boilerplate fantasy litrpg, you won't find them here. The author is very upfront about that in the story description.
All in all, if you love that urban fantasy New England vibe mixed up with crunch-lite litrpg, Get Trucked will hit the spot just right. I know it did the job for me!

    Story:
Get Trucked takes the old truck-kun joke and flips it on its head. Instead of following the person who gets sent to another world, we follow the guy behind the wheel. Max is a dying Massachusetts state trooper who takes a job with a secret organization that sends people to other worlds by running them over. It sounds ridiculous, but it works shockingly well. The premise is dark, clever, and way more grounded than it has any right to be.
    Style:
The first-person voice is the biggest strength of the story. Max sounds like a real person, not a generic hero. The writing is fast, clean, and easy to read, with good humor mixed into serious moments. The LitRPG elements are light and don’t drown the story in stat screens, which makes the worldbuilding feel natural instead of mechanical.
    Grammar:
Clean and professional. Nothing pulled me out of the story. If there are typos, I didn’t notice them.
    Characters:
Max feels like a real guy dealing with an unreal situation, and that’s what makes the story work. His friendship with Cam feels genuine, and the tension with Lanie is handled subtly instead of being shoved in your face. Side characters get just enough detail to feel real without bogging the story down.
Overall, this is a smart, fun, and surprisingly thoughtful take on a tired trope. I’m hooked and definitely sticking with it.

This book wasn’t quite what I expected, but I ended up enjoying it nevertheless. The MC, who suffers from a terminal illness, works for a mysterious company that allows him to maintain perfect health and avoid dying from his condition.
While it’s a LitRPG, it doesn’t overwhelm the reader with lots of stat sheets, and I actually really liked how the system is implemented. One particularly fun aspect is how the MC upgrades his vehicle from one model to another as he levels up. I’m excited to see what transformations await when he reaches higher levels!
Btw, there’s an interesting scene in the story where the MC’s car shifts from one model to another. I really liked it because it reminded me of a similar scene in Ubik, written by one of my all-time favorite authors, Philip K. Dick. In that scene, the MC returns to his car only to find that it has “aged” several years, reverting to an older model.
Anyway, I can’t wait for the next chapters to come out. For me personally, the best books are those where you can’t predict what’s going to happen next, and this book is definitely one of them!
