- one sweet bunRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Hey, this was great! Let me preface the rest of the review by saying; I’m not a writer, and I don’t have the practice of putting all my thoughts down synthesized and organized so this review may be crude in its voicing.
The next thing about this review is that it is a review of a short story and I think there just isn’t a ton of material to write extensively on.
so I will be brief
I thought the atmosphere in the writing was wonderful, I was immersed from the first paragraph onwards with adequate descriptions, that let me see the world in my minds eye without clogging up the flow of the story.
There's nowhere in the story that I feel the writing is bloated. However there are a couple places where the author could afford to write in more detail about setting/ give us more time to understand the mind of a character.
The story was sufficiently horrifying to me and though it wasn’t perfect i still felt that creeping nervousness I associate with reading a good horror story
Cheers
