Description

Waking up in an unknown world in an unknown body is bad enough, but Nemesis is unfortunate to awaken missing their memories and identity, a prisoner in an unknown place. And just when they thought things couldn't get more confusing, their mind floods with a message.

[Initializing SYSTEM (TYPE: E)]

Yes folks, this is another LitRPG. I've always enjoyed ones with monster mc's and potentially unexpected moral conflict, so I decided I'd try writing my own. Bygones and please be gentle, this is my first lit of any kind <3

edit: haha so, I'm adding the comedy tag bc at this point it's inevitable.edit: I'm going to start posting updates M-W-F instead of whenever I feel like it.due to changes in my work life, releases will be on Fridays going forward. scheduled chapters will be 6pm mountain time.

edit: I now have my patreon set up, give it a peek for advance chapters, but only if you want to :3

edit: a warning to hardcore litrpg/progression fans. while it does have litrpg and progression elements, that isn't the core of this story.it's about self discovery, learning, growth, and picking up the pieces to rebuild. and also eating souls.

"Know thyself" (Γνῶθι σαυτόν), said the ancient philosophers. Yeah, and then you awaken with all of your self-knowledge erased, now what?
The long journey of rediscovering the main character's backstory begins with small, childishly (innocently) monstrous steps.
Almost hundred chapters in, there is a diverse cast and the character development is significant, but of course the monstrousness is still there, for what can change the nature of a [redacted]?
It's a slice, read it for the cozy feel!

So far everything is good. The story and world building is good. I have read up to 17 chapters and  I was not expecting this to be soo good I wanted to read chapter after chapter. I also love the fact that the Mc is learning fast and not taking long to accept their new life. Keep up the good work author and plz don’t drop this novel.

I just finished binging the backlog - I don't have words. I don't have words to describe how good this is.
Spoiler warning for incredibly vague plot summary -
At first I thought it was going to be like a grimdark uncaring-MC level grinding thing, and then it was a magic-academy comedy, and then it was an "overpowered MC does whatever" kingdom builder, and then. Oh my god. and then the feels. holy shoot the feels.
TLDR - the "genre" shifts as the story progresses, (and there is a lot of character development) so if you don't like it at first, maybe stick it out and it might grow on you. Just... be prepared for eventual feels. I was not prepared.
If you like inhuman mc who actually thinks and acts inhuman, but can still grow and change,
If you like asexual "unfeeling" monster learning to love in their own way,
If you like an MC who hates gender,
If you like a mostly woman/woman-adjacent cast (even the supporting cast),
If you like super cool and interesting divinity/pantheon/multiverse/system world building,
If you like orange cats, cosmic horror, or queer monsters in love,
This is a great book for you.

I Read the 1st 25 chapters when I first started reading it in one sitting!
I came across Ember32 by chance and saw that she was writing something. Months later, after we became "web acquaintances", maybe even friends, I decided to see what she was working on. Even though I am OLD (67), not a gamer of ANY sort, and we are pretty far apart in most aspects of our lives, I found myself hooked on her writing, kind of like how I found her a good person in the groups we had in common.
"For The Record", for the 31 chapters I have read in the last 2 days, is a good read and a story well told. It keeps your interest, has good character development, and is free of cheesy, over used tropes you sometimes find in some writing.
Give it a shot, I think you too may get hooked on it.

I live this story so far, it's characters act like real people for the most part, it's system and magic is interesting and fun, it can be quite funny at times aswell and I'm surprised it hasn't gotten any reviews before this one. In total its an amazing story that I would absolutely recommend anyone to read.

A very good story about a monster main character. Interesting take on power dynamics wherein the MC is rather strong, and yet incredibly weak for those she(?) is pitted against.
MC is very clumsy and naive, not knowing how to act around humans and lacking developed emotions. MC is a bit of a villian type due to lack of emotions she often will commit atrocities without knowing better and then has to deal with the consequences. Side character reactions to these atrocities feels human and well written, from disgust to anger and sadness. MC is capable and willing to learn better but struggles with severe apathy. This dichotomy is well written, and the MC's struggles feel like they have deepth, the MC does get better, but at a believable pace.
Well done side characters with fleshed out emotions and reasonings. Their actions, frustrations, and character is well written. They have their own wants and proper reactions to what is going on in the story,
Definitely worth a read if you enjoy monster mc's trying to fit in with humans, and godly shenanigans.

This story contains elements of emotional abuse, extremely unhealthy power dynamics in relationships and an MC who has the profile of a typical narcissistic sociopath. There are also elements of non-consensual brainwashing people into worshipping the MC. Furthermore, there is also a character which just naturally has an unhealthy sexualized submissive fixation on the MC. This is treated as 'just their nature' and not something which can be changed or adressed.
As mentioned in other reviews, the MC also commits a bunch of other atrocities and dehumanizing acts, but is called out on these. Other characters condem this behaviour and react accordingly, whereas all of the above is not commented on and  accepted by most of the characters as acceptable behaviour.
I actually enjoy stories with a villainous lead, but that is not what this is. To me this feels more like a misguided attempt at unsuccessfully adressing certain political topics, leading to a product which accidentally normalizes some pretty problematic behaviour.
I'm reasonably confident this isn't the authors intention, but it is certainly how I perceive this story.
All of the above actually has only a very minor impact on my review score, since it is largely a matter of personal beliefs, but I felt that it would be equally incorrect not to adress this.
For people who aren't bothered by this I guess this can be a decently written power fantasy, but even then I feel that this story is kind of bland, and I'd be tempted to also add the 'slice of life' tag to this story. It also suffers from a bit of confusion:
While the author does a good job of avoiding exposition dumps and the pitfalls of telling instead of showing, they need to step up their game in the actual show departement.
While I greatly enjoy a story which doesn't spoonfeed you all the details of its world directly, I feel that there are certain elements of this world which are not sufficiently explained AND not sufficiently treated like a mystery, espec

The author forgot to include a plotline. The premise is initially interesting, but after a bit, the story devolves into randomly encountering a problem every few chapters. The problem is solved over a chapter or 2, due to the MC being OP.
The MC has no goals and limited character progression.
Theres also some romance stuff that was weird.
