[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] x2 combo

This story was also a participant of Royal Road's November 2023 Writathon event.

You have been summoned here for one reason. Trevor, you need a break.

Trevor Anderson is just another normal, overworked retail worker. All he wants is his promised promotion, a chance to use some of his vacation days without feeling guilty about it, and time for his hobbies.

While waiting patiently for his life to improve, a workplace accident changes everything for Trevor, including the world he resides in. After he bungles his way through a summoner’s questionnaire and gains the Power of an extradimensional inventory, he lands in the peaceful town of Tosa.

In a world where he can finally relax, he finds himself both unable and unwilling to sit still long enough to do it. With everything he needs to take destiny into his own hands - a clean slate, a supernatural ability, and good friends - Trevor will use his Power to live life the way he chooses to.

What to expect

* Cozy (low stakes, good vibes), quests, SoL, romance, jokes, and probably some other buzzwords, too.* A third and final book (at least, a rough draft of one).

This is the story of an overworked man being summoned to another world, but not to fight the demon lord. It's more about getting a well deserved vacation and finding a place for himself in this world. Overall, this is story you may want to read if you like good vibes, sweet feelings, and also polite and honest characters getting along with each other.
The novel is short, in terms of chapters, however there are enough to care for the world and its caharacters. As they say, there is enough time to tell a story.

A cozy and wholesome story, with a cute romance that makes my nonexistent heart flutter.
Moreover, the characters are a joy to read, and their interactions feel genuine and interesting to see.
The story isn't deep, and it doesn't try to be. It knows what it needs to do, and delivers it.
This story is so good, that I even made an account just so that I could rate and review it.
If you like mushy romance that makes you feel sad, because you are single, and you like cool and supporting friends that you also makes you feel sad, because you are lonely, then read it!
I would have likes to end here, but an advanced review needs at least 200 words, so I just point out some parts I liked.
The reveal about Jackson's previous life was cool, didn't think he also came from an Earth, live Trevor.
The system being sentient and not being a force of evil, or annoyance, was also awesome to see.
And Trevor's character growth was a joy to follow: an overworked man that just thought of himself as another cog in the machine, that is our society, becoming a little selfish, finally finding a place for himself and understanding that self-sacrifice wasn't a worthy endeavor.
There are many more things, but if you wanna know more, then read it!

The story and character development are solid. Everything flows well so far, and I can't wait to see more.
    Trevor Anderson.
Never in my life has a character so perfectly encapsulated the desire to help others while realistically portraying the lows of living a self sacrificial lifestyle. Anyone with a heart that's ever been stuck in retail for longer than any one human should be should automatically resonate with this character.

I am quite pleased with this book. I don't normally enjoy reading a story as it comes out this much, but I am quite content that I did this time. And much like the friendship bracelet I mentioned in the title, the story has it's little twists and turns, but even though you already know roughly where they are going to go, it was really satisfying to follow the clean and uncomplicated weave from the start to the end.

I'm not going to go into much about this, I don't want to spoil much, but this story, was an absolute pleasure to read, one of the finest stories I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
It was a breath of fresh air and honestly, just what I needed.
Truly. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing this. I am looking forward to whatever works you the author produce in the future.

I mainly consume romcoms, because I've had more than enough evil in my life, so as long as I'm not the one causing it myself, I prefer things to be generally calm and enjoyable for all involved. Flossindune mentioned somewhere around chapter 30 or so that they didn't have much experience writing romance, but I think they did a fine job. The game system is internally consistent, everything has a reason to exist, and so on. I'm finding it tough to find something to criticize about the work - I don't even remember seeing any spelling or grammar errors. Suffice to say, it's a good story, Jim.

I loved this story. The first book was amazing, and the second was even more so. The author does a wonderful job world building and building up the characters, and the romance in the story warms the heart and is top notch. If you like cozy stories, read this. You won't regret it :)

Gentle, soothing and warm, with a generous handful of bright spots of humor and joy. There's barely a hint of action in the whole story and, honestly, it's all the better for that lack. Reading this has been a deeply relaxing and entertaining time, one that I'm glad to have had and sad to be ending soon

A lovely introduction to comfy stories. If you're wanting a nice, low stakes story where the fate of the world isn't in the balance and everyone is happy to see you, this is a book for you. It's a pleasant quick read with an wonderfully colorful cast of characters to get to know and love. My only complaint is that I want to recipe for taco bread now.
