- AlexanderScottRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0What a story! Evocaier Chronicle is a fascinating journey through time in the world of Vesteria—and it spans over 700+ years! The story opens (literally) with what is called an Abyssal Breach, through which a variety of dark enemies and monsters surges and wreaks havoc on a small town.
We follow a young mage who is still learning his craft, and he watches the defenders fight back unsuccessfully, and he loses nearly all that is precious to him. Over time, he trains hard, fights a lot, and learns to control his craft. After a mind-boggling series of events, he touches a mysterious black cube and suddenly wakes up 700 years later, an ancient hero meeting new friends, and he finds out the Abyssal Breach (and the enemies is spawned) it still there all these decades and centuries later.
The writing is strong throughout, though the opening prologue pieces (three of them) do a little time jumping and there's a bit more telling, than showing. That said, once the story gets going, it's a ride you'll enjoy! - D.P. GurbalovRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This reads like a classic epic-fantasy opener. The action is clear, the pacing ramps well once the fighting starts, and you do a nice job layering concrete combat mechanics like sigils, spectral swords, armor materializing, potions, wrist device commands so it feels like there’s an actual system without turning into pure stat-soup.
The main weakness I think I see is that the opening spends a lot of time in “lore voice” before the reader is anchored in a character. - Nemo BlancRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Reading this story felt like stepping into a sprawling, timeless realm where swords clash with sorcery and immortals grapple with the weight of their histories. The author doesn’t shy away from going big, this is a text that embraces the classic tropes of an apocalyptic high‑fantasy saga, and it delivers with sheer audacity.
The plot is rich and expansive. We’re thrown into a desperate struggle across centuries, from the collapse of an ancient Empire to the emergence of new nations and the looming threat of an all‑consuming Abyss. At its heart is Drifter, a character torn between belonging to a broken past and finding a place in an uncertain future. The story captures that sentiment beautifully. The idea of a soldier waking to a world reshaped by time, yet still hunted by the same darkness, is compelling and executed well.
Grammar‑wise, the piece is solid. The language is confident, and its pacing is strong, long enough for atmosphere and character moments, sharp enough for action. The style shines in its evocative imagery and sharp action beats. The author clearly has a flair for making magic and combat feel palpable, weaving luminous threads of energy, brutal impacts, and moments of quiet grief together.
If anything, the sheer breadth of names, events, and concepts can overwhelm a new reader, and at times the exposition threatens to bury the emotional core of the piece. Yet, that same richness creates a lived‑in world that begs for deeper exploration.
In short, Naravelt is an ambitious, captivating piece of high fantasy that captures the tragedy of immortality, the thrill of heroism, and the quiet beauty of remembrance. A rewarding read for any lover of sprawling, action‑laden sagas. - SahqoreythRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The Evocaier Chronicle starts as a fantasy story, that quickly shifts to a balanced mix of Sci Fi and Fantasy after the Prologue. Our Protag is Drifter, a war veteran who lost everything, and on the cusp of ultimate victory, ended up being shunted 700 years into the present era in which the story takes place.
Story: So far, the story is fantastic. The pace is a bit fast and chaotic at first, but that's alright. That's what war is. Things slow down considerably once Drifter arrives in the future, and starts attending/teaching at the magic academy his Order has created in the centuries since the climactic battle he was caught up in. There do seem to be many threads of plot going on at any given time, but as I'm not finished yet, I'm going to assume they tie together later, as that seems to be where things are headed. Either way, the mysteries are juicy and the characters are interesting.
Characters: The cast for this tale is a bit large, but not so much as to be unmanageable. There are also helpful pictures to remind you of what people look like. The characters are great, though what stands out most about them, as they're usually in combat, are their classes. Not too different from what one would find in an RPG, our protag chose the insanely cool and visually satisfying Arcane Saber, which seems to pair well with everything, and is very adept at killing the main antagonistic minions of the series. The characters definitely aren't one note, and there are multiple that seem tied to the many mysteries Drifter has to contend with in modernity.
Style: This story's style is great, and fits with the narrative being told. The addition of AI images for people, places, things, even Ultimate Moves, is great. My only note would be to add some in for those who read through the Prologues, and don't skip ahead.
Grammar: There are only minor grammatical errors, that appear infrequently, and do not distract from the story. Italicizing every single thing people are saying is a bold cho - vorlefanRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5"Time is a merciless architect. It builds empires, then drowns them in shadow."
If you're an anime isekai fan, then this novel is for you. It blends really well the fantasy, the sense of adventure, and that feeling when watching an anime that is straightforward. In a sense, I believe that this novel has a high chance of being adapted, be it into a comic or anime. Also, the pictures and character designs are amazing; props to the author!
Style: The prose balances between action and the characters. While I find it good, from my personal preference standpoint, it was lacking a bit more depth toward the development of introspective connection between the reader and character and the world itself.
Grammar: Clear and polished. It has some minor issues structure-wise in terms of paragraph & dialogue in the conventional way of writing, but nothing that takes the reader off; the author did an amazing job in making sure everything else was good before publishing.
Character: Each character has their own voice and unique traits. And here is the golden point of the story. We have our main character, Drifter, who is well crafted, and the standouts, such as Luna, icy intellect; Alma, reckless compassion; and Lorcan, brash humor.
Story: It's really interesting, the duality of medieval times in the past for Drifter perspective and the techno-magical current times. The Black Cube's secrets create a foreboding of something else, and the author did a good job in increasing the expectation of the reader for the next arc. I would say that it needs a bit more depth of the world itself to improve even further the story (backstory, side events that impact economies, life in general, and so on).
To the author: Keep up the good work! It has an amazing chance of being adapted, reaching an even wider audience!
~ From your fellow traveler :) - M.E. CheRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Evocaier Chronicle is a fantasy story clearly inspired by anime, manga, and light novels, featuring a protagonist named Drifter who is sent 700 years into the future. While discovering how and why this happened, Drifter must also navigate his way through this new and once familiar world.
Unique Aesthetic: The inclusion of character art and the light novel-inspired style add a creative visual element to the story.
Time Travel Twist: Sending the protagonist forward in time, rather than backward, is a refreshing twist on a common trope.
Clear Influences: The story’s inspiration from anime, manga, and light novels is evident, giving it a distinct flavor.
I recommend Evocaier Chronicle to fans of anime-inspired fantasy, light novels, and JRPGs such as Xenoblade. This is a story that is very clearly still developing and growing, but if you enjoy stories with a unique aesthetic and time travel elements, this might be worth a try. - LokiDragonRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Well this is an interesting one honestly. Let start off with positive: the magic and supernatural story will kept in for a ride, the characters are decent and unique in their own rights, and the plot was very intriguing and will keep you wanting more.
Negative: narrative flow, pacing, too much information which will overwhelmed the readers, a big cast at an early stage with given time to connect with and I believe you should slow down with the worldbuilding.
That's my thoughts on it, I do believe it's very good but just need some improvement. - TikaaniRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Evocaier Chronicle dives into a vibrant high-fantasy world brimming with magic, time travel, and danger. The story combines the excitement of action-adventure with the intrigue of a mystery, all set within the immersive backdrop of a magic academy. With its ambitious scope and imaginative elements, it shows promise as a captivating tale, though it would benefit from a more polished delivery.
Style:
The story embraces its magical and supernatural elements with enthusiasm, effectively drawing readers into its high-fantasy world. However, the narrative flow can be uneven, with some transitions between scenes feeling abrupt or disjointed. The inclusion of character images is a creative touch, but it can sometimes pull readers out of the immersive experience. Additionally, the author’s notes, while informative, feel somewhat detached from the story and disrupt the pacing. These notes would feel more integrated if presented as in-world materials, perhaps as Drifter’s personal observations or journal entries, allowing them to enhance the world-building without breaking the narrative’s flow.
Story:
At its core, the story is brimming with potential, weaving together time travel, action, and high-fantasy mystery. While the plot shows promise, the pacing can be erratic at times. There are moments where dense lore and magical systems are introduced, followed by lighter, more casual scenes, like the trading card game. This fluctuation can leave the reader struggling to keep up with the stakes and the overarching plot. The world-building is expansive, but it would benefit from a more gradual introduction of information to prevent overwhelming the reader. The mystery and its key elements should unfold naturally, drawing readers in without overloading them early on. Additionally, focusing each chapter around clear goals would help the narrative remain engaging and cohesive. Some subplots, like the trading card game, may add flavour but feel out of place in the current context and c
