Erind x Deen Alternate Reality Spin-Off of REND
Self-Published

Description
Due to popular demand, we have a non-canon (or it can be canon, up to you) spin-off, pairing Erind Hartwell, the main character, and Amber Deen Leska, (probably) the most popular side character of the story. There may be other pairings in the future too. Since romantic relationship between these two is impossible in the main story, we have a separate one. This'll be a light hearted and comedic slow progression of Erind and Deen's relationship, filled with fluffy interaction and occasional adult scenes. Main Story:REND

- ARIMA MaroonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This spinoff is absolutely amazing. The original REND already had great chemistry between its female psychopathic MC, Erind, and its second female lead Deen. This fiction builds on this chemistry in unique, competitive, and often comedic ways. If you like the original REND, you'll love this.
Being a Romcom, it first starts out with two leads being competitive, and slowly builds to a more outright relationship later on. The competitive nature between the two friends has a great blending of comedic and romantic undertones. Furthermore, the characters are consistent from this spinoff and the main series. Erind, being a psychopath, doesn't really have capacity for romance. But Deen's extroverted, persistent, and competitive nature causes Erind to open up more. There's also character and backstory building as an extra plus.
Sadly, not all of the fiction is available on RoyalRoad. The relationship does get extremely sexual later on (past 30 chapters or so). It is available on ScribbleHub and Patreon though. The nice thing about the sexual content is it feels like a natural buildup of the romantic relationship between Erind and Deen - not to slow and not too fast. Some stories just have smut immediately, while others have no romantic progression at all. This story strikes the right balance on everything. - MasterCyclonisRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I actually thought this was going to become a thing in the main story and it was doing a very slow burn and Deen just didn't have the confidence to come out as gay or something. Was this announced on one of the pages or something? Can't believe I didn' know this existed for seven months.
- McReaperkingRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0How the hell does this fic have such compelling scenes?
No seriously, I have no idea why its so much fun to read.
Actually its prolly the slippery slope Erind has involuntarily thrown herself off of that makes it so much fun.
Its not actually a romance, but it sure is entertaining to read - OmnijackRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story feels like the author was frustrated by people pulling Erind and Deen out of character for the sake of shipping and decided to show them all how it was done.
Thing is though, that Temple is too good of a writer and ExD is a genuinely solid rom-com. It's not a healthy relationship because that's just who these characters are, but their interactions are gold. I recommend reading REND first to actually understand all the context, but ExD has been a delight. - ShaylaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's nice getting this sort of more intimate interaction for some fluff enjoyment on the side.
I honestly wouldn't mind if this was somehow incorporated into the main story instead of as a standalone but I'm enjoying it all the same since it is fulfilling my 'what if' scenarios. - UlbertRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I mean. What am I supposed to write here precisely? Is this some spinoff Fluff of one of my favourite stories I’ve found in a couple years? Yes.
Perfect Fanservice? Yes.
Actually good written fluff? Yes.
Absolute Degeneracy that’s actually enjoyable? … Yes.
This doesn’t feel like I would Review it, but fuck it we ball.
This is great. REND is great. If you somehow read this and didn’t get to experience REND before… What are you doing with your life? Like srsly. And how did you even get here?
Read REND first (these Chapters happen between the main story ones chronologically) and then come back.
If you are even remotely enjoying the thought of our little monster Erind and Deen getting a little frisky… Wait you are. Whoever you are.
I don’t think I have to elaborate, should you even remotely know these two.
I mean if Fluff isn’t your thing, just treat yourself with REND. You won’t be disappointed. - Weird EyeballRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I already love the preceding story, but this story really showcases how relationships can twist people into strange and exotic versions of themselves, while we get an inside look on how this relationship dynamic changes both sides of this demented coin.
Erind: Another important part of this story is that even Erind, a psychopath, can twist themselves into ribbons with the self defined goal of getting a superpowered and rich ally (which is probably still true, but I doubt that she is going to be close to her previous self, having become far more excepting of abuse from a "lover".). While she's taking advantage of Deen for the benefits that come with the abusive relationship she's also (as stated before) twisting her own personality/mentality a lot.
Deen: A very obvious change in mentality reveals itself throughout the story as she becomes more possessive and obsessive with more unjustifiable depraved acts happening with each moment alone. She becomes masochistic (shown by her basically enjoying pain inflicted by Erind, which includes getting vored[?]) and sadistic (shown by her enjoying[?] pain/dominance over Erind whenever they engage in sexual intercourse, which is included in her voring[?] Erind in-between chapter 45-46). Furthermore she herself fetishizes making Erind her doll, treating her as such whenever possible, while daydreaming of it repeatedly.
[?] means I'm not sure I'm correct in my observations. - elyielRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Rating this story independent of Rend is both pointless and unnecessary, since reading it out of context won't be particularly interesting. Just like Rend, the writing style, grammar and story are excellent. This story exists for no reason other than please those who would like a somewhat happier ending for Erind and Deen.
Despite being written around the plot of Rend, the chapters work well and the characters have an oddly adorable chemistry between them.
Writing an alternate reality spin-off was a great way of accomplishing this without changing the story intended to be told in Rend. It's not a story that needed to be written, but it was, and I'm quite happy for it. It's fan-service, and it's brilliant. - posiedon11Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0It has the same writing quality as the main story, but it's too early to determine story/character development. IMO I think this relationship should be part of the main story but just given as subtle hints the gradually turn more intense over the course of a 1-3 books. But I don't know what the authors main goals are for the future.
- shaeenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I get this is not canon or whatever but it makes so much sense for the character or Erin to try to take advantage of Deen through sex. Like I was surprised she didn’t try it in canon so i guess I hope you make her at least try it in the new version
