Description

Dying at a young age after a disappointing life, Mat thought he hit the jackpot when he reincarnated on a tropical island. Here, exploring mysterious lands and learning magic are a tangible reality.

But the world of Elydes is as beautiful and magical as it is wild and savage.

TheGuidemight offer opportunities for power to all, but humans aren’t as impartial. Mat has the lowest possible starting point, and those in his circumstances rarely go far.

Not to let his humble rebirth define him, he must find the determination to grow stronger and delve into the mysteries of Elydes.

Book 1 - A New Dawn

Book 2 - Tides of Change

Book 3 - Whispers of the Isles

2 chapters a week Mon-Fri (~3k chapters)

What to expect:

- More realistic take at being reincarnated in another world.

- Slow and steady growth. We’ll get to a smart ass-kicking MC, but our MC will have to build his strength and determination one step at a time, getting back up after each setback.

- Flawed characters with distinctive personalities.

- Not a grimdark story, but there will be dark elements (there are a few hard chapters near the beginning of the story).

The Story of Elydes is slow, painfully and patiently slow, but a castle isn't built in a single day so does a grwat story. We are only at the beginning but one could see the potential just simply looking at how does our dear wordsmith tells his story which is pretty solid by my opinion. Grammar wise its nigh perfect, The Characters still needs more time to be fleshed out but time is all we have. Just wanna say, I was here before this one hits Weekly Trending.

It's one of the best stories I started reading in the last half a year. Well-developed small world with hints if bigger horizons. Likeable character who is not perfect and still learning. Interesting, believable side-characters. People acting their age and within boundaries of their experience. Logical system not overshadowing the story. Steady progression, through time, plot and experience.
I like that the author started with MC being a young child and managed to keep a good balance between childish tendencies and MC's previous life experience. I think it's well-written. I'm not annoyed that MC is so young and limited because of his age and look forward to him learning and maturing organically.
I also like that despite harsh experiences, the MC has a loving family and good emotional support.

This fic is pretty great. Personable MC, interesting characters, good world building, well written and edited correctly. Actually, I think I read through the available chapters in one long session, so it definitely held my interest, and I'm looking forward to reading more. I only have positive things to say about it and do recommend it!

There is so much I can say about this story that I started reading with a bit of skepticism and soon devoured not 2 days later.
The main character sits in a sweet spot for isekied MC's. He was young enough when he died – and his circumstances were isolating enough – that while he can leverage a more mature and nuanced mind set to take advantage of his young age in his new life, he isn't some jaded middle aged mind that constantly naval gazes about his past life, or is caught up in calcified pre conceived notions and habits to the detriment of the story. And while he has enough flaws and hang ups to prevent him from becoming an overly perfect, two-dimensional cut out of a power wank, he doesn't have so many that the narrative is dragged down by trauma porn, angst and constant bad decisions. It's really just a very well done balance that not many characters in this genre manage to hit.
Beyond the MC, what captured my attention was the world building. The power system and setting are engaging yet believable in a way that allows it to feel like we've only barely scratched a corner of a wider tapestry. And not in the Chinese cultivation novel way where there are a hundred higher realms copy pasted above the current setting for the MC to move through. But an actual well developed world that we are only introduced to a little of, but still exist just beyond what we can see.
I can't wait to see where the story goes.

You have read this kind of story before if your on this site.  But this world, characters and general story telling is top tier.  Highly recommend. Slow paced but worth the read. Can't think of a reincarnation from baby with slow growth that is better.  The social class system is also well done.

An easily likeable MC who, after dying young on earth, works hard to make the most of a second life in a magical world. In a well-developed world and magic system, he deals with a good mix of tragedy and good fortune without too much of either. He works hard, takes advantage of opportunities, and makes a number of good connections that influence his growth.
The surrounding characters are a good mix of well fleshed out individuals with visible goals and motives.
Overall, excellent storytelling with good attention to grammar and pacing

Isekai with a greater form of character development and restraint on power creep than 99 percent of other isekai novels. With that being said it still is an isekai that follows the typical isekai trope that falls into many of the plot hooks and pitfalls of isekai novels.
Outside of the typical grand mystical somebodies existing conveniently to inform or guide the protagonist; the pitfalls of the isekai trope aren't so egregious that it spoils the story as a whole. In fact, the author has done a great job at making the story more interesting because of these tropes.
I look forward to future chapters and seeing how or if Kai broadens his horizons beyond the archipelagoes.

Lots of training! Love training books! Magic is slowly explored and worldbuilding is also not bad. Love all the characters, well-fleshed out, three-dimensional and possess human emotions! The author does not shy away from adding stakes to the story. MC is also not OP despite his reincarnation. All-in-all, definitely recommended!

The beginning of the story is great. The main character isn't overpowered and has to work for his progress and has realistic motivations. The side characters have interesting personas too and even only after 35 chapters there have been emotions reading this story. Can't wait to see where the story goes.

I really like this story, and had to immediately binge all the chapters. The only downside is I now have to wait for more to be uploaded.
The premise of the story is your usual standard reincarnation. The story is somewhat slow without being too boring, which I personally like as it's no fun when a character becomes OP or ages up to an adult by chapter 2.
The magic/skill system, while not completely unique does make this story stand out. I can see how it's been setup to keep the reader interested, while allowing decent character progression.
There's some interesting characters, backstory and 'angst' which adds some depth to the story, which you don't normally see in similar litrpg.
The overall writing is solid, nothing seems odd or distracting, so it's a very pleasant and easy read.
