The author is amazing with introducing new elements to the story and making them understandable. The magic system is well thought out as well.
The relationship dynamics are very well thought out and are constantly presented during dialogue giving a feeling of rich history behind the characters.
It is overall a good story that is worth trying out.

This fiction’s beginning is strong, with a promising story and interesting characters set in a rich, conflict-driven world. It strikes a good balance between world building and moving the plot forward.
    Style
The style is descriptive and fits the genre well. It crafts a vivid world with its unique magical elements. The narrative voice (first person present) is strong and conveys the moments of urgency and emotions effectively. However, the use of early in world (or cultural) terminology can be slightly overwhelming at the beginning.
    Story
The story presents a compelling fantasy setting which offers a lot of potential for deep exploration. The elements of a brewing conflict and the personal challenged faced by the protagonist are introduced well. But the opening, more precisely the prologue, could benefit from clearer stakes to fully engage readers from the start.
    Grammar
The grammar is generally good, with proper sentence structure and punctuation. There are a few instances where smoother transitions between sentences could help the flow of reading. But these are very minor issues that do not detract from the overall quality.
    Character
The character of Khaled, with whom we start, is set up with intriguing qualities and conflicts. However, more depth could be given to his emotional state and more importantly, his motivations. It would make readers care more about his journey from the start.
