Isekai. That’s all this story was supposed to be. A boy, summoned by a goddess, tasked with defeating the Demon King. Magic and fantasy, dwarves and elves, swords and blood, heroes and demons, a classic tale. But there is a blip. An anomaly. A manaless man in a world of mana, equipped with the knowledge that the world he lives in is nothing more than a [Story]. A world of fiction. He’s not interested in being another [Character] in a sea of [Characters]. They’re just puppets on strings, dancing to the tune of another. But then something changes. Something’s different. And suddenly, this dream of a world may be more real than he imagined. This fiction may not be so fictional after all. Maybe destiny is more than the [Plot] that guides them. Maybe bonds are more than the strings that tie these [Characters] together. Will you find the truth? Or will your existence forever be a lie? A myth? A [Story]? Let the journey begin. imma be honest, i was slacking on this review for quite a while. i usually dont write reviews because i am a lazy lazy person, but this is a story that absolutely deserves it.*leans in secretively* so i bet you're wondering whats so great about this story? well x3 buddy, you're in for a treat.
emotions and feels: this is a pretty emotional and feel-good type story. now, lemme level with you, i am what the silly people in the asylum would call a mentallly deranged sociopath, and yet this little webnovel hath captured my heart to the extent that i almost religiously follow the story of john and prota. very good emotion happy things, dopamine go yay!
what fourth wall?: this is the kind of story that breaks the fourth wall not just for funsies, but for actual plot reasons. ever felt like "gee, i wish these idiots would just realize this obvious trope?" well, now they will, and it will have dazzlingly hilarious impacts on their mental health that everything that is, was, and ever will be is a lie created to amuse your sick sense of entertainment.
time loop very good: now perhaps you've read up on the stubborn skill grinders and mothers of education, but it simply didn't activate that sweet dopamine burst due to having a paltry amount of loops. now, here however, dont worry! its totally normal to loop dozens of time for that sweet buzz of gambling
underrated novel: i get it, i get it, you commented on one of those big novels but no one responded to you and now you feel lonely and depressed. after all, how is anyone supposed to see your comment all the way on the 275th page? now, not only is this novel criminally underrated and deserves way more attention that it gets, the very nice author that CIGAP is, he responds to practically every single comment. never will you be lonely again! now if only we could mass-produce CIGAPs and sell them as body-pillows-- i mean *cough cough* what?
in conclusion very good, read it or i will find you and make you read it and you will cry te

This story has really grown on me. What started as a mysterious, slightly chaotic tale has evolved into something emotionally resonant, with characters that feel surprisingly real given the fantastical setting. Chapter 7 seems like a turning point. Prota’s development—both in her abilities and her emotional maturity—felt earned. The author does a great job portraying how overwhelming and alien a power like soul extraction would be for a child, and her slow mastery over it was both satisfying and tense. The training scenes with John and Zero were clever, not just in function but in how they deepened the characters’ dynamics. Zero, in particular, is a highlight. Snarky, expository, and oddly self-aware, he's like the story's narrator without actually being one. His banter with John balances the heavier themes nicely. John himself is a great protagonist—not overpowered, not overly noble, but believable. He’s jaded, kind in a reluctant way, and clearly scarred by his past. His internal conflict about getting attached to Prota adds emotional depth. And that last line—Prota asking him to help save her sister—was such a clean, powerful hook. The writing also isn’t afraid to be meta at times (“bad writing” and “[Author]” comments), which might not be for everyone, but I find it fun and self-aware without breaking immersion. The pacing's a little fast in parts (even the characters comment on it), but somehow it still works. Overall, this is a unique mix of dark fantasy, slice-of-life, and emotional growth. If you like character-driven stories with supernatural twists, a mysterious world, and surprisingly wholesome moments buried in the chaos, this is worth the read. Looking forward to seeing what happens next—especially with the mysterious sister subplot now in play.

Dimensions Collide: Destiny Bond flips the usual isekai formula on its head, delivering a dark, gritty story packed with sharp takes on morality, purpose, and storytelling itself. What starts as your typical "summoned to save the world" setup quickly spirals into something completely unexpected, thanks to John—a wild card in a world built on predictability.
John isn’t your average protagonist. He knows exactly where he stands—or doesn’t—when it comes to the story’s usual hero-villain dynamic. He’s not here to save anyone, but he’s not out to destroy everything, either. He’s cold, calculating, and laser-focused on surviving, which makes watching him tear through this world both fascinating and unnerving.
Take Chapter 11, “Monsters and Men.” It’s intense, brutal, and impossible to put down. The fight scenes? Incredible. They’re raw, strategic, and hit hard—both literally and figuratively. John’s weapon of choice, a gun in a world full of magic and swords, makes him stand out even more, giving the battles a modern, grounded edge.
The mercenaries’ dialogue brings the action to life with their cocky banter and growing unease, setting the stage for John to take them apart—physically and mentally. His cold, unshakable demeanor keeps the tension high, leading to a moment where he completely dominates his enemies, no theatrics, just ruthless efficiency.
But this isn’t just a book about action. It digs deep into its themes, making you question what heroism and villainy even mean. John’s view of himself—and everyone else—as background players in some bigger story is as chilling as it is thought-provoking.
Even with its dark tone, the book sneaks in bits of dry humor and introspection. Lines like, “Personally, I’d never say something like that. It’s like you want to lose,” remind you that John, for all his detachment, has a sharp wit to match his cold logic.
This isn’t a feel-good fantasy, though. The violence is graphic, and the moral ambiguity might not sit well with readers

This story isn’t about saving the world, or going on some adventure. It’s about a pair of broken characters. One is seemingly empty and uncaring, the other, withdrawn and suspicious of the world. I love every word of it.
Style: The writing is well paced, it provides detail when needed, conveying emotion and providing foreshadowing, enough description to imagine the scene without getting bogged down in the details. CGAP switches between the main duo’s perspectives fairly often, but it is done smoothly, oftentimes you don’t even register the perspective change. Reading the story feels natural and emotional moments capture you.
Story: The story is atypical, but works well. It challenges the characters, creating intra-personal conflict. The story has a far amount of foreshadowing, creating a sense of mystery and anticipation without giving anything away. The pacing is good as well, there weren’t really any dull moments where I became disinterested and it didn’t bash me over the head with action.
Grammar: There’s not much to say here. If there were any mistakes, I didn’t notice them at all.
Character: Oh boy… in my opinion, this story is about its characters. Specifically our main duo. They’re incredibly flawed and broken but they’re deep and develop realistically. Over the course of the story we learn about their pasts and come to understand who they are and how they became the way they are. They take time to develop and do so gradually, there’s no one event which can magically fix them. The two of them have an interesting dynamic and complement each other very well.
In terms of side characters, they follow more traditional tropes. So far they’re been less deep, not to say that they’re one dimensional, they’ve got motivations and backstories, maybe even more than the average story’s side characters. They simply feel less real than a more typical story’s side characters, likely as a result of reading the main pair’s thoughts. But that works very well with the ideas of th

Engaging Opening: The first chapter quickly grabs attention by plunging readers into Prota’s extreme circumstances. Rather than overexplaining her background, you convey information through action and environment, effectively employing a “less is more” approach.Your character design is outstanding, particularly the two core characters: Prota and John. Their contrasting yet complementary personalities add a strong appeal to the story. The pacing of the first three chapters is well-handled, with each chapter focusing on a central event while leaving ample room for the story to unfold.Engaging Opening: The first chapter quickly grabs attention by plunging readers into Prota’s extreme circumstances. Rather than overexplaining her background, you convey information through action and environment, effectively employing a “less is more” approach. You excel at conveying emotions through detail rather than explicit statements. For instance, Prota’s hesitation and nervousness when receiving a towel, or John’s conflicted thoughts while observing her sleep, are portrayed with great subtlety. At present, Prota primarily exhibits vulnerability and detachment. As the story progresses, gradually reveal other facets of her personality, such as her intelligence, unique worldview, or growth potential, to make her character even more compelling.Your novel stands out for its nuanced emotional portrayal and strong sense of suspense, successfully crafting two captivating protagonists. The steady pacing, engaging interactions, and underlying themes make it both thought-provoking and enjoyable to read. Slightly quicker background revelations and enriched world-building could further enhance its narrative tension.Keep up the great work! This story has the potential to become a remarkable piece.

I'm still at about chapter 70, but I can assure you that it's a great story, creative and with a slightly crazy protagonist lol

I am 13 chapters deep and I have to say, the unique use of breaking the 4th wall along with the fresh magic system and character development is awesome.I like the known unknowns and the glimpses of magic in the world this author has created.I was particularly in love with the weapon reload, without saying too much. Perfect execution of a great idea. The characters are interesting in their entanglement. The story builds steadily as the plot unfolds in ways I wasn't expecting. The writing style has the reader wanting more and delivers at just the right times.I'm excited to see where it all goes and I'll want to enjoy the audio book once it grows into all the success that it deserves. Thanks for the story!

Just a wonderful read so far. CIGAP has a whole universe in their head and that's clear from the beginnings of chapter 0. I'm only a few chapters deep so far, but after every chapter I'm itching to know more about the world and the [characters]. Definitely a must read

I honestly love how john seems like a person who's been through so many tribulations to the point that it seemed that he retired from life, and my favorite thing about him is his conversations-- rather his arguments with zero, it makes it seem like he really does hate himself but zero is that part that has a slight hope since they're one and the same. Overall It has a good start and i will keep on reading! Great Job [Writer]!

Right in the beginning, DCDB already shows that it’s not like most other novels. What we can glimpse from the first chapter would go on to reveal massive spoiler materials that should only appear at the end. Yet, by doing so, us as readers also understand why the ensuing tale is one that both retreads an epic journey while trying to find something more. That, and also to mourn both good and bad times that are to come..
    Style and Story:
To start a regression novel with what can only be considered “massive ending spoilers” is quite ballsy, indeed. On one hand, it takes away a lot of potential tension due to the mc’s status. On the other hand, it can be seen as a self-imposed restriction, since not only our main character but even the author now has to make us care, not just for the story they want to tell, but also the world and its people that both have come to appreciate
    Grammar:
The grammar is excellent! Tried as I might, there was little to no error to be found. Thus, this part gets a perfect score from me
    Character:
John is arguably the main character, even more so than the actual protagonist of this [Story]. He is accompanied by a funny voice inside his head called “Zero” that might or might not be another massive walking spoiler. Nevertheless, the duo’s banters reveal bits and pieces of John’s past and why he becomes his current, “broken” self, which is a surprising revelation since the interactions John has with other people makes him look perfectly passable (even friendly at times). Speaking of which...
Prota is the deuteragonist that brings out the more, “humane”, side of John. She has a guardian-ward relationship with the dude and while they haven’t interacted enough to become true companions, it’s slowly getting there. That said, what little could be seen from the girl already painted her as a tough survivor, and given her “foster father” ‘s condition, there is little doubt that she would grow to shine in her own way very soon, especially when demons and d
