Overall: Dragon Spar is an incredibly well-written and narratively concise LitRPG. I really like the writing style, and I really like the way the RPG elements are integrated into the story.
Style: As stated before, the style of this story is much more advanced than I would usually expect from a LitRPG of its size.
Story: I've read up to chapter six of the story, and I've really enjoyed it so far. The plot has been set up clearly, and there are enough unique factors in the story to make it interesting. Regarding the integration of the RPG elements, I liked how the main character reacted to the System appearing and effecting her life.
Grammar: I didn't notice any grammar issues when I was reading through the story. In addition, the writer will often format sentences in interesting ways in order to make the story flow better.
Character: Usually, the characters are the weakest part of a LitRPG. As far as I've read so far in Dragon Spar, the characters are very strong. The main character meets a group of people in the first few chapters, and they all get strong characterization in the first conversation they are involved in.

Dragon Spar has a lot of great things going for it, and it is well worth the read.
Keeganashleylive is a really seasoned writer on this platform. She goes about everything she does with a huge amount of enthusiasm and professional level craft, and it really shows in this latest fiction from her.
The story is instantly accessible. We're introduced to the strange new world at a pace that keeps us interested and asking questions, but not overwhelmed. This is especially impressive because the early chapters are full of non-stop action. It takes a lot of practice to keep readers engaged with Rosabella as a character, while there is so much going on with a new characters and system details that we barely understand.
Never fear, the author does it seamlessly here. There was not a single point when I lost grip of what the MC's priorities were, or what plot threads I needed to pay attention to.
What's more, the system here is really fun. As far as LitRPG elements go, I was consistently excited with each new element that was revealed, and to see the progression of the MC beginning. You get a sense of the scope of what may be possible down the line (alluded to along the way) but the focus never drifts from the immediate threats facing the MC and how the system can help them overcome those pressing issues.
Rosabella is a great MC as well, especially because she is not perfectly suited to overcome the dangers that face her. She has links to the Game World that aren't fully understood, through her mysterious father figure, but she's also a sheltered teenage girl. She is flying by the seat of her pants, and the sections where we get a key into her thought process are really relatable, and one of the shining features of this fiction in my opinion.
Rosabella is overwhelmed by the immense challenge ahead, and socially struggling in a new party dynamic where she doesn't understand the context of how everyone else feels about her. And those themes are given space to breathe, without bo

Dragon Spar is a fantasy/post-apocalyptic LitRPG featuring a sympathetic protagonist and an interesting premise of a class that can change the world itself. The author shows intent on balancing this rather than creating an overpowered character from the get go, lending a realistic spin to this fantasy tale and allowing for great tension and action from the start. Fans of dragons, detailed systems, and fun need look no further.
Style: The author has a good flow to their writing and a light presentation overall, using small paragraphs and quick character reflections to express the action happening on the page.
Story: The prologue gives good set up to the story, priming Chekov's gun without really revealing anything too spoilerily. The system is on the hard side with system messages and stat boxes, and they're done well so as to not overly fill the pages with chaff. When the story proper gets going with its main protagonist it kicks off with little build up, getting readers right into the action.
Grammar: Great! The authors clearly taken time to edit their work and the polish shows.
Character(s): Rosabella is a realistic MC thrown into the Isekai with a strong motiviation for her to continue forward. The prologue really helps set her up as a character even though it's in a different perspective and gives the readers motivation to keep going.

Dragon Spar is an excellent entry for a first-time into the litRPG genre that is so popular here on Royal Road - it hits all the right points to get you invested into the story, and as early as the prologue you are already shown bits and pieces of the game element and what you're in for mechanics-wise. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Dragon Spar despite my overall skepticism of the genre, and am looking forward to reading on about Rosabella's adventures!
That being said, here is my review:
    Story 4.5/5
The story starts off INCREDIBLY strong with a prologue that sets up hints of the major overarching plot concerning dark happenings in the game world. The first couple chapters really hammer home the bond between Rosabella and her dad, and there is this continual suspense that hangs over the reader as we cross the line from the mundane to the Game.
The narrative hits a bit of a speed bump once Rosabella crosses into the game world - with a fair bit of time dedicated to introducing the mechanics and re-hashing the protagonist's conflict. This doesn't last long however, and the author quickly steers back into the action once the business of introducing all the major world beats is done. Overall, despite the minor expository bump, Dragon Spar is great in setting up the major conflict for the MC, and has me pretty invested in what's to come for Rosabella and her new companions.
    Character 5/5
Rosabella as the main character is fantastically well-written as a confused, disoriented teen thrown into a world they aren't even pretending to understand. Their inquisitive nature makes for a great surrogate audience as is the norm for most isekai-like works, and the inclusion of the System Query is a great way to introduce various concepts to our MC without handwaving the knowledge or pulling weird logical jumps.
The other Gamers that Rosabella meets are generally well-written, though at the point I've read up to so far there isn't much to really write home about beyond their surface-le

The story starts in a confusing way that left both myself and my son stopping and checking back several times to see if we missed something. But the confusion soon ironed out in an interesting and fun to read story. The Main Character is on a rescue mission, looking for his father . . . but not everything is as it seems. The power system is based around game-making, which as far as I can tell is absolutely a unique premise.
I've clicked follow and my son and I plan to continue to follow. Well done!

The first thing that drew me to this story was rich description of everything. Emotion, environment, personality, characters... Everything was well written that makes the reader hungry to read the next chapter.
Style: Just like the title said. The story is written in the first person pov, which frankly isn't my favorite, but the author writing style really kept me invested. It's rich with description that paint a vivid images to anyone.
Story: I don't want to spoil, so I'll be brief. From the first chapter, the story present you a mystery and unanswered question that makes you unable to stop reading. the pace is just right, balanced between action and explanation. The world building and power system are both interesting. I'll leave it at that.
Grammar: everything is perfect, I didn't spot a single mistake, but I could also be wrong as I was lost in the style.
Characters: All the characters felt real with their own personality. Both main and side characters are three dimensional, and have their motive to team up.
Overall, I really enjoyed this story, and even though this is a review swap, I'll continue reading this story because I really loved the style, and hope one day I would write something this good.

I like the beginning, a lot! From the air of mystery that lingers around RosaBella's father, to the perfect flow and the smooth dialogue. All is well written and deserves recognition.
The author, Keegan, uses light and short phrases to keep the story engaging in all turns, which only adds a certain beauty to the style. Her style.
The writing is clean and well crafted, displaying the author's mastery. There isnt any noticeable mistakes, and the story flows like water on a river, which kept me reading and reading and wanting more!
For characters, they surely feel real to read. They are complex and human, and you know? It has been a while since i read about human characters and through their mistakes and flaws. I dont know about you, but I love it when characters are relatable and arent simply "Perfect" in all the decisions that they take.
The characters in Dragon spar have motivations and emotions, which, sadly, i find lacking in many webnovels I read.
Overall? If you want an enjoyable experience reading a LitRPG Post-Apocalyptic novel, then this is for you. And from a author to another, i Got to say, Keegan is good and i cant wait to finish this whole thing off someday.

I'm enjoying this book! The author is obviously a good writer, and the chapters are well edited. The author does a great job of unveiling the world of The Game through the viewpoint of the character Rosabella. There’s an element of mystery as the story unfolds, which is definitely an incentive to keep reading! As revealed so far, the world of The Game feels inventive and engaging, with a compelling objective, interesting group of companion characters, and magical creatures like dragons, zombies, and snargels. I like the literary reference to Alice and Wonderland. :-) I look forward to reading additional chapters as they are uploaded.

Dragon Spar is a unique and fantastic book that is a true credit to it's genre as well as any others that I've read. The author begins developing the characters, places & storyline from the beginning of the first chapter so that you can get into it quickly while leaving certain important things out so as not to spoil shockers and wild things that happen later on. Because of TV, movies & other things I had actually stopped reading in the past, but Dragon Spar and other amazing books written by this author - she has many books in other places as well as in print - I have found lots of them so wonderful and enjoyable to read; so much fun, that the things she comes up with in her imagination have started getting me back into reading! If you like this type of story or others along this line, Dragon Spar is a MUST read!! As a true fan of the worlds and characters this author has created, along with everything that happens in and to them, the books of hers that I've read and experienced are some of the best I've ever read at any time. You will no doubt find this book completely fun and wonderful enjoyment to read, and knowing that, after this one I suggest and encourage everyone who likes this type of story and adventure to find and read others that she has written. I'm going to keep reading Dragon Spar for quite a while because I'm just so caught up with it at this point, but have no doubt that I'll go back & re- read others by her that I've read.

So, dear Milc, what are your most wise thoughts on this story overall?
Overall I have to say this is a very promising story.  The worldbuilding is good and is meshed into the story very well.  It's very much "show don't tell" done right.
How are the characters?  Relatable?  Are they as bad as yours?
Thanks voice in my head.  The characterisation is excellent so far.  Rosie and her Dad are both introduced nicely, they are relatable and engaging.  Although Daddy Dearest is whisked away early on, the relationship between father and daughter and how it had changed somewhat during the time skip at the beginning is clear and charming.
The band of heroes (or are they villains?) are all interesting and well written and I'm looking forward to how their relationship's with the MC grow.  It seems clear a lot of thought has gone into the characters.
But Milc! It's a LitRPG!  What about the system?  I likes them blue boxes!
I know you do, voice in my head.  Blue boxes are abundant, but not to the point it detracts from the narrative.  The system has also had a lot of thought put into it I think and while I've only scratched the surface at this point, I am looking forward to finding out more.  There a few funny little twists that make it stand out that I really appreciated but won't spoil here.
Ah but Milc, is it well written?  Plot, numbers going up and characterisation can only take one so far, as you well know!
Yep.  The prose is very smooth.  Descriptions are evocative and vivid.  The language and grammar are impeccable.  Clearly a lot of talent and effort has gone into this story.
It's well worth a follow IMO.  Looking forward to seeing it grow.
