Description
Have you ever loved a videogame so much that you wished you were somehow magically transported into it? Tough luck, this isn’t your typical isekai story where the protagonist ends up in a different world. The videogame becomes the new reality in this one. Features: a cute gay protagonist (and his handsome boyfriend), strong female characters (probably too strong), magic, huge fluffy wings and… did I mention BL? Doesn’t feature: waiting for romance to finally happen after xxx chapters, stupid girls who need rescue and… did I mention it’s not straight? Warning: I might have a fetish for angel wings. I mean… I most probably do. #boyslove #lqbtqa #science-fantasy #psychological #wingkink #slowburn #magic #virtualreality #nonhuman Releases: Twice a month, usually 10 pages for a chapter. You're in for a 200+ chapter story. :) Join Draconia's Discord channel! https://discord.gg/3gBK3gWu92 This fiction is also being published on ScribbleHub, Tapas, Wattpad and Honeyfeed.

- chirpyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story follows the life of Aefener (not going to disclose his IRL name as it's given in the first chapters), and differently from most fictions on RR, the inciting incident happens some chapters after the story's first chapter. That is not to say it isn't exciting from the start; on the contrary, without giving any spoilers, I'll just say I couldn't stop reading from the very moment I picked the story up.
It isn't a LitRPG, yet DRACONIA ONLINE (a VRMMORPG) is a main theme throughout the story. It isn't an isekai, which makes it even more exciting. The BL themes are treated naturally, as should be, instead of overly sexualising any of the characters. To put it in a way that's easy to convey, Romance is a pillar in the story, but more of a constant flow in thr background rather than the actual focus of the story (which is the DRACONIA players' situatuon, and how the MC and his friends and boyfriend manage it all). If you're a reader who doesn't usually engage in stories with non-heterosexual characters, you'll most likely enjoy it anyway, unless you're completely unable to stand same-sex love themes. Sexual scenes are few, short and not at all detailed, and overall don't interfere with the storytelling.
Now, as for the advanced review:
Style: The author is most likely not a native English speaker, but the style is clean, well done and clearly demonstrates an advanced mastery of English. Not flowery,, but still it isn't basic or simple, and overall makes the reading experience easy and straightforward. It's personally my favourite type of style, as it doesn't distract from reading neither from it being purple-prose nor it being clumsy or hard to follow in any way. The only reason why I noticed the author not being a native English speaker is that, sometimes, some constructions or reasoning are clearly originated from thinking in another language, and while they still make perfect sense, are not native to the English language.
Grammar: Nothing to say here, mostly fla - DanaheimRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I absolutely love this book, it ticked a multitude of boxes of things that I particularly like in books that I usually only find one or two of and so to see so many of them in one book is amazing. The way the different races interact and act with each other and humans is really nice to see, I also particularly like the fact they are unapologetically inhuman and that they're not some human with glorified cosmetic changes. While this book isn't for everyone and that's fine, I would recommend you at least try reading it because I'm having fun with it and I'd like everyone else to enjoy with me! \^0^/
- FantasyloverofarcRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Umm so I'm reviewing this as of chapter 89 I think. Overall I love this story and it's filled that empty spot in my reading list I so desperately needed (being a cute gay romance where it's not the whole plot but a major part that also has a really interesting story as well) so that's for my overall score. As for style I think that means what I think about the writing style maybe and I really like it the first person pov is always nice to see but I also enjoy seeing the perspectives of the other characters it's also detailed and descriptive but manages to do so without feeling like an infodump I can't think of anything negative really but I almost feel as if maybe it could be refined a bit more im not sure though. Story well I'm undoubtedly biased here because I love gay romances that are grounded in a fantastical setting because I like being able to relate to the characters that much more I love how (I'm not sure whether I should be addressing you the author or the people interested in this story reading the reviews) all the different things that are going on manage to be connected without feeling like someone's pulling deus ex machina's out of their ass (pfft. I'm being silly, ignore this). Grammar is really the only part I can find real flaw with on my opinion with spelling mistakes being consistent (not being all over the place just a couple in most chapters) and the occasional reverses order of words, but I've never been one to really care about how 'correctly' someone writes a story and just focus on the story itself but I know that not everyone feels the same way and that this might also be feedback I dunno. Characters... I'm not sure where to begin the first chapter did an amazing job of presenting ryuuto/aenefer and even throughout the things they go through which I'm not going to go into detail to avoid spoiling anything, he still feels like him sure he's changing every now and then but he still is him if that makes sense. Umm so yeah this was my first eve
- Felix_The_MageRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well written, mysterious and althought it seems inspired by litRPGs and Isekai, it is not any of those? Or isn't it? =D I guess we need to wait patiently for the next episode to find out. Looking forward to that, even though romance and boys love is not really my cup of tea.
Probably because it is not the point od the story? The point is the characters arc, the exploration of a super interesting world and... human condition I guess? The fact that how we react to change is what reveals our true nature. That nobody is perfect and that we can overcome our weaknesses with the help of friends.
UPDATE:
The story is getting more and more interesting. There are many very original ideas, the characters are evolving and the mystery deepens. Also, the entire situation is pretty escalating. Is this a reverse isekai? Better not delve too deep into this and not to spoil your fun.
Basically every chapter leaves me wanting to know more. With every chapter, there is a new revelation and I think that the author just perfected the art of cliffhanger. The pacing is just out of this world. There is litteraly zero filler, every detail is important. Even though the story progresses kinda slow (don't expect any Michael Bay style action), it takes time to build up characters and the world. True friendships of real people.
MILD SPOILERS AHEAD:
And magic =) and flying (soon?) and tanks in the streets, telepathic interogations and assassins.
Just can't wait for the rest of the story. - KaraAlenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Based in the future, this fiction brings a warning about the effect of technology on human brain and the development of human society as a whole. The story is about personal transformation and connectiong to others. It nicely balances serious topics and comic relief. There is no telling what happens next. The style of writing is light and story-oriented. Written from the viewpoint of the main character, it offeres many insights, but it is not too philosophical or trought-oriented. There are very little grammar mistakes.
The story is carried by interesting protagonists. The main pair are gay, so there are LGBTQ+ topics involved. Their relationship is cute on the surface, but it shows classic symptoms of co-dependency. There are many strong female characters, perhaps too strong as the story progresses. The characters come from very different backgroung and only meet because of an unlikely event. There are also other topics covered, such as racism, human rights and politics. These are nicely veiled by the creation of "new races", byt can be applied anywhere.
It is the author's first published fiction and it is published weekly. The chaprets are rather long and the publishing is consistent. It is interesting to read and follow the progress of the story, as well as the development of the author. - NeinkaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style:
the written in first person which I rarely read but this one really excels in what it does. Its flowing nicely and I found that I do not mind the first person at all. To the contrary I prefer it now as I think its needed because of Ryuuto's ability (no spoilers).
Story:
Story is the thing that hooked me. Its super interesting and I never read anything like this in the Isekai genre...in fact I never read this plot idea in any genre.
Its progressing nicely and there are no parts where you would be bored.
Grammar:
English is not my native toung so I sure cannot recognise a lot of grammar mistaks but I only noticed a few typing errors like missing letter and stuff like that. And even these mistakes are few and far between.
Character:
At the begining I found all the main characters too much on the good side. But the more you are in the more there is character development and more characters with different character traits. I still cannot wait for the introduction of the villain.
Overall:
This story will pull you and won't let you go until you read it all. And because its written very nicely and the fow is great it won't take you long until you get to last chapters (23 in my case).
Author also updates regurally so I am expecting a lot more to come. If you like fantasy/scifi/BL/isekai this is for you. And even if you squint your eyes at BL I recommend you give it a change because its very nicely written, nothing pushy and nothing explicit so far. Its as if being homosexual is normal and not main character trait as some people make it to be. - LixxissashRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Love your work. The character arcs are developing nicely, and I the relationship Aefener has with Eric and Gotrid and how it isn't all rainbows and sunshine. I have not seen a story idea like yours and it is working very well. I can tell that there is a lot of work put into this novel and it is very well thought out.
- AzazelZiRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I like the setting and the characters but some of th feel a bit rushed and not realistic, one example is
Godric (I think that's how you spell it?)
And how fast the mc
"Fell in love with him"
Along with how Erik's parents haven't said anything about the polygamy?
Anyways I love the story so far!
