Description

"Everyhuman who uses the Death Note to kill their own kin shall forever be barred from entering heaven or hell."That is the punishment for those who abuse the power of death and desecrate the domain of God.

But what if someone used the Death Note—held its power—but died before they ever took another life?If no crime was committed, why should their soul be condemned to nothingness?

So'he'made an exception.

"If you use the Death Note, you are forever forbidden from heaven and hell. But if you choose not to kill—if you resist the power of death—you will be rewarded with the greatest treasure of all. The supreme treasure of life. It can be yours... if you seek it.I left it all, in...One Piece.”

I will be posting 5 chapters a week.

Hello, I wanted to leave a review of this story. As someone who enjoys both Death Note and One Piece, I've followed both series for some time now, including the Death Note anime, manga, and its various adaptations. I don't typically read much Death Note fanfiction, but the crossover premise here seemed interesting, so I decided to check it out.
The starting point for the story, with Light dying due to writing his own name, is certainly a unique idea that relates well to his character's known flaws. The chapters that followed, set in the Shinigami Realm, did a good job explaining the unusual circumstances he faced and setting up Ryuk's decision to embed the notebook and accompany him. This was an interesting way to keep Ryuk in the picture while altering his usual role.
Regarding the characterization, I feel Light Yagami's portrayal has been handled consistently. His core traits, such as his analytical thinking, his way of rationalizing things internally, and his ability to adapt to new situations, are evident as he navigates this different world. For instance, the section where he tries to deduce the new planet's physical characteristics based on Lieutenant Scarn's visual range was a solid example of his logical approach being applied to unfamiliar circumstances.
The character dynamics are also developing well. The relationship between Light and Ryuk continues, now with Ryuk interacting from within Light's mind and setting conditions for his cooperation based on being entertained. This adds a layer of ongoing tension. Similarly, the dynamic with Lieutenant Scarn progresses logically, moving from their initial tense encounter towards a functional partnership necessitated by their shared dangerous situation during the whirlpool plan.
Putting Light into the One Piece setting naturally brings up the challenge of differing power systems. The story addresses this by having Light rely on planning, as seen with the "Frisbee plan." This plan, utilizing the whirlpool, was a c

    IT. GETS. GOOD. Amazingly so.
Ligth is not a copy paste, a distinct yet similar character from the manga, and is interesting, enjoyable in his own way.
Almost every chapter is well made.
I look forward to reading more of this.

Putting Light Yagami into One Piece is already a bold move—but making him a Marine? That's just slick. Neamio pulls it off with surprising finesse.
The story nails the personalities of both Light and Ryuk. Light’s internal monologues, arrogance, and obsession with justice translate perfectly into this new world, while Ryuk’s sarcastic commentary from inside Light’s head adds just the right dose of humor and chaos.
What really hits is the emotional weight behind the Marines. The way he portrays the Lieutenant after surviving devastating pirate battles feels real—worn down, cynical, clinging to duty. It’s a side of One Piece we don’t often get to see, and it works incredibly well in contrast to Light’s calculating presence.
The pacing can drag in the early chapters with a bit of over-explaining, and it could use a bit of polish in the grammar department. But once it picks up, it’s a wild, thoughtful, and entertaining crossover that keeps you hooked.
If you enjoy clever crossovers, dark humor, and a fresh take on the One Piece universe through the eyes of a god-complex genius, this one’s worth diving into.
