Death in the Arms of Life

Description
The night was interrupted by the sound of screeching tires. Worried faces started appearing from now lit up windows from nearby buildings, people rushed outside to see what’s the matter. Someone even called the police and ambulance in hopes that the latter would be able to help the redhead that motionless was sprawled on the cold asphalt.
Victims of the scene were dancing around the body while the night sky trembled and was cut in half letting shadows walk out of the crack onto the ground - all of them snaked in the air creating a tall dark female figure.
First appeared the eyes, resembling deep cold eyes, then followed the face, pale and emotionless, almost like a statue. A pitch black plait neatly rested on the narrow sharp shoulders. The stranger stepped under the street lights, her clothes was hanging on her skinny frame, hand were covered by just as black gloves ending all the way up her elbows - those were so unnatural, it almost looked like the gloves weren’t a piece of clothing, rather the woman’s own skin stretched over her bony hands.
No one paid the new guest attention, as if she were invisible.

- KetchupSplatterSpecialistRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Romance can be a tricky thing to depict well. In essence, love is simply caring for another. And, if we went off that definition, a lot of things can be considered love. The foods you like, my sister's husbandos (the male version of a waifu, for those who don't know), and your furry fetish. However, if you started ranting about your furry fetish, I wouldn't call that romance or love, but sexual harassment.
I think that a good romance story would make you feel romantic. Right? Well... The beginning of the story is a bit of a slow burn. (Not to say the pacing's bad. It's a short story; hard to make that feel like a drag unless you do something wrong.) It's less touchy feely and more unstable teenage girl at the start. Which, makes me take half a point off the character score since it's boring to me. (It would have probably been more appropriate taking it from the story score since the characters are realistic... but the pacing's really good...)
Then, it starts to kick up. And, I'm going to be honest here. My interest started picking up the moment it got sexy. I'm a simple guy. You make it sweet, you make it sexy, and I start feeling romantic!
I'm so sorry. I make it sound like I'm slobbering all over the floor. I swear it's not just that! I may call the author Daddy, I probably have similar tastes to the author, but the story has a genuinely good arc about sacrificing for each other! Not only that, but the humor it has is witty. I loved the part where Madness suggests he's the reason for the increased birth rate!
According to RR, I'm supposed to explain my reasoning for the scores I gave. Which, makes sense. I just disagree with what the scores mean. After all, the scores can mean different things and be less or more important based on the genre. But, I'll give them anyway...
When it says style, it's probably referring to a more illusive concept about the uniqueness of the world building and narration. However, when I see style, I think of writing style. So that's wha
