To bad the author has dropped this because the possibilities on how this could have laid out, are fresh and mind blowing. The introduction to the world was basically what I want from a fantasy setting - pretty concise, gave me a broad idea of what is happening, and is also part of the story, managing to not be an info dump.
MC is relatable and likeable. My only gripe is that the expressing of feelings is a bit too straightforward and basic, and I feel like we are missing some last drop that makes the mc 'snap'. We can intuit it from the situation, but it feels like an important event that needs to be presented to the reader.
The whole nurse appearance feels pointless as well, as they just come in to leave immediately afterwards. I think just the disregard for the blaring machines is enough to highlight how much the awakening means for the mc.
But those are details that are not that difficult to improve when aware of them.
