For months, Ellie and her mother had been planning their escape from House Gennan, choosing the day before a lavish party for their attempt at freedom when the attentive eyes of servants, guards, and their relatives were all on making sure the debut of House Gennan's challenger went smoothly. However, the sudden announcement of her legitimization and the early arrival of her betrothed threatened to unravel everything. Unbeknownst to Ellie, this event would soon lead to the awakening of her lineage, throwing her life into turmoil and forcing her to become an active participant in the grand scheme of things.
