The day of prophecy has finally come. The Hero has drawn the Sword of Dawn and is off to slay the Demon King with his three companions. However, before heading out, he has sent off a call for someone, anyone, to follow his party and chronicle their journeys. A call that has reached the ears of one Ilala Twistfall, a gnome historian with a heart for adventure. Unfortunately, she arrived a little too late, and the position was already filled.
Now, she's desperately trying to catch up to the Heroes to beg for another chance. But throughout her own adventures, she will soon discover that, even with the best of intentions, the Heroes' actions have had some unintended side-effects.

- luda305Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5The story itself is a tin can: You get what you read on the label. It's a satirical comedy of the stereotypical JRPG isekai'd hero to another world to defeat the demon king.
What sets this apart from almost anything else I've read recently is that it's a first person POV but told in retrospect as a chronicle. Like a "here I am a decade or three later and I'm writing down my perspective of the story of the arrival of the heroes." There's also a fair bit of introspection (which given that it's from the future of where the story is told, that's pretty weird) or fourth wall breaking involved (which is also pretty weird).
