In a world where reality has collapsed and is controlled by a cruel and merciless Goddess, Ekko is one of the most privileged people there are–princess of one of the few cities who manage to stabilize fragile space and time into something resembling normalcy. Except her privilege rests on being docile and pawning herself off for an advantagous political alliance. And she'd rather die.But Ekko isn't the kind of girl to go quietly. Instead, she claims her sacred right to take on the Challenge, a task set out by the Goddess for those wishing to become Chimera–warriors who defend the few outposts of reality from the monsters emerging out of the volatile wastes by grafting parts of the monsters' bodies to their own.
