- GirthmasterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have read a LOT of Harry Potter Fanfiction, and this story is a breath of fresh air into a genre that's become increasingly stifled over the years.
The writing: the pace of the story flows extremely well, even with the perspective changes, with my only quibble(r) being that the ending seems somewhat rushed. I do like the retelling of various events from different characters' points of view. The dialogue is well-written and engaging.
The story: extremely engaging, I finished this in less than three days because I simply couldn't put it down. I'd like, in particular, to commend the author on their portrayal of a socially and emotionally stunted Harry in his first few years. It was so poignant at points that it made me cry.
One of the few stories on here I would give a full 10/10, 5 stars! - TheghostinmybasementRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have to say, this is one of the best Harry a Potter fanfictions I have ever read, and I have read a lot of them! - NicofthePenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really liked this story, and how it modified the original Canon to make it more interesting. The plot is engaging and in my opinion more realistic for a story in a world of wizards. Please give this a read, it is worth your time, and is long enough to be worth it but not too long that it is a slog. With action in every chapter and several well placed time skips, you will never feel that it is too stale.
- SimyianRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story left me pleasantly surprised. The characters were compelling and it felt like a fresh take on the HP universe. You should read this if you have the time.

The ending felt a bit rushed which is often the case for stories like these. - TheDeadPacifistRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Pacing : The novel is quite fast paced for major canon events of original and I liked it that way as who want to read again the same thing.
Story : Up to chapter 5( available at the present moment ) ,the story is basically just summary of major canon events of original done in a beautiful way that even the reader ,who has not read the original, can understand . Maybe not fully, but he will be able to understand what is going on. One incident if the author wants to change is the incident when Harry rebuked Draco . He rebuked with the reasons (Draco being wealthy and Hermoine being smart) that he did not know at that time ( according to this novel ). It is not necessary by the way as mostly only those people who have read the original will read it . Also Ch 5 is the first chapter where major change from canon happens and the change is good in my opinion. Also some minor changes like wand ,owl etc have been done by author which can only be reviewed when they will be used further . ( I have rated it 4 star because it is just canon with little change otherwise the story do not have any problem)
Grammar : A little bit mistakes but I think the author has done it intentionally and they do not break the flow of story so maybe no change is required.
Characters : The character of Harry has undergone a major change and I personally like the change . Harry has become maybe more smart or you can say freak in different way. Dursleys and Snape have become less rude from original . I also liked that. Other characters are basically same till now.
Overall : Summary has been done wonderfully well with little bit of tweaking . A lot will depend on how Harry the freak will grow from here , but till now the changes done are good for me. Will be happy to read again when there will be new chapters. - Akito B. TakahashiRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Writing any type of novel, fanfiction, or otherwise isn't always productive. If you've seen some of my reviews, you'll notice I don't particularly like Harry Potter or anything dealing with magic. However, I do recognize a writer's talent when I see it.
Regolith's first five chapters offer an intriguing glimpse into the alternate world of the Harry Potter universe. Being familiar with the series (books and movies), I'm well aware of what takes place.
This particular fanfiction explores the idea of Harry's abilities being altered by Voldemort's attack, impacting his memory and processing in a way that hasn't been seen before. Spoilers aside, that alone opened the door for an interesting exploration of his character and development. There are a few alterations to the wizarding world, but these are seldom great enough to keep Harry Potter fans interested.
Let's stop with the praises now and move onto the Ragolith's weaknesses. The first five chapters spend a significant amount of time on mundane details. While these moments establish the characters' personalities, they could be tightened to move the plot forward more quickly. I also couldn’t' help but notice expositional reliance. While exposition can be necessary, showing more and telling less could make the story more engaging.
That's all you get from me now, Mr. Boy-Who-Writes.
Takahashi-dono. - Boy BayawakRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Since you are doing a fanfic you must have an extensive knowledge on the harry potter universe.
It was like I'm remeembering or reminiscing the scenes in the sorcerer stone when the trio first met.
Amazing writing.
Couda = Coulda
Ya = You
Cool slangs hahaha can imagine Hagrid saying this.
Style: your style is straight forward and its so easy to read. I've read the harry potter books before.
It won't be fair to compare but I like how your work translating it more simplier
Grammar: No problem with your grammar not that I have a say against this since my grammar is not that good haha!
Character: Well its harry potter but he actually speaks his mind. I like it.
I imagine a Harry with like an anti-hero who fights against Voldimort wouldn't that bad ass haha.
Story: Well I totally know what would happen next but it would be so interesting to see how Harry would react.
If this is just sorcerer stone:
-The chest match, he must have some better solution than Ron
-The battle against the Orc, its possible that he would use another spell (The levitation spell)
-He doesn't become seeker? Wouldn't that be interesting haha - TheGreatGazpachoRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I haven't touched this franchise in so long, but a lot of memories started coming back through the five-chapter recap. It helped make all the changes feel jarring but in the right ways. The character-building events are a bit out of order, but for the most part, the story follows the same premise. It feels like after chapter 5, we'll see bigger ripples in the narrative.
I'm very intrigued by what that author did with the Harry Potter character. At first, I was curious if Harry was displaying more psychological damage from his time with the Durleys. Now, it appears that the cause is also magical in nature. I'm also curious to see how Snape's interactions with him will change going forward, as he doesn't seem to be as cold to Harry in this version. This iteration definitely plays more on Snape's subtler need to help Lily's child overcome his struggle.
One last sentiment, which appears to be echoed by others: touch up the grammar and do additional pass-throughs of the text before posting. It'll go a long way. Keep it up! - BrokenWorldRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I would like to start off by saying that my knowledge of Harry Potter is embarrassingly limited, consisting of me just watching bits of various movies, so keep that in mind during this review.
Style: In general, I didn't have too many issues with the writing style. The only issues I had were the lack of details about where the characters were at the time and how rough transitions felt between scenes or brief jumps in time.
Story: Like I said, my knowledge of Harry Potter is limited, and fanfictions of it even more so. Still, I enjoyed the story and didn't feel bored at any point. I could tell some things had changed compared to the original; they actually made me really interested in how things were going to flow from there, especially the curse that made it hard for him to read and write.
Grammar: Just like the style, over all, I had no issues. There were some sections that sounded a bit weird to me when I read them out loud, but that may just be an issue I have with the style of writing rather than the grammar itself. There were no miswritten or missing words or missing periods, so it's definitely readable.
Characters: I really enjoyed the characterization of Harry and how he interacted with other characters, even if they hadn't had the chance to be fleshed out just yet. The idea that even in a place filled with magic, Harry is still viewed as an abnormality because of how he acts was also pretty interesting, and I'm interested if that's going to change down the line or be an ongoing thing. - The Jester in RedRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5This is a retelling of the Harry Potter story with a few key elements changed from the original. Being that my knowledge is only from the movies it's hard to say what exactly has changed from the cannon of the original books, but it seems like Harry Potter now has perfect memory, but is really bad at reading and writing. He isn't the same smart Harry you remember, but he can remember anything he has read or been told.
This is a complete retelling of the story from the very beginning, so it is still very early in its development.
Overall: So far I feel like the story is okay, I wasn't totally impressed with the changes that were made to the original, but being that it is a fan fiction, things had to change. I think it would be better if instead of going over all of the same scenes from the original, the author took more of a creative license and really ran with his own version of events with only brief moments where we see things we have already seen in the original.
Style: this was a challenging read for me. There were many sentences that were difficult to read because of either improper format or because they were incomplete sentences. Having not read the original Harry Potter I do not know how close to the original it comes.
Grammar - I found there to be a litany of grammatical blunders through out the text. I think most of this could be fixed with a second pass by the author, or by a proofreader who has a decent grasp on how sentence structure works.
Story: As this is a retelling of the story it is hard for me grade it effectively because it feels very close to the original so far with only Character differences and I think order of events. Having only seen the movie I can't say for certain.
Character: The characters seem fairly close to the original. Some characters are different from their original version, with the stand outs being Snape and Harry (So Far)I think the characters will probably develop differently from their original depictions based on how the a
