Description

Adriaa is an apprentice healer who claims to have been exiled by mistake. Will you believe in her innocence?

In the futuristic world of Malkuth, where a utopia maintains global peace by exiling criminals to the dystopian continent of Sectum, Adria, Corven and Zanda—three souls from opposing realities—are drawn together, sparking a sequence of events that will shift the balance of their society in chaotic and unpredictable ways.

The brutal, unforgiving land of Dictaduria—one of the four countries in Sectum, a continent designated for exiled lawbreakers—pushes Adria to survive through sheer resilience. Accused of sabotaging an organogenesis lab under strange circumstances and forced into a life of poverty, she toils as an underpaid miner, trapped in a decaying society that mirrors the failures of long-dead regimes. Her boring and repetitive routine is changed a stormy afternoon when she hears the tortured cries of a man being brutalized nearby. In a moment of irrational courage, she intervenes, setting off a series events with unimaginable repercussions.

Parallel to Adria's tale is that of Zanda, a woman fresh from the prestige of becoming a Gevurah from the Fifth Sephirah, a powerful league of guardians in charge of protecting the seamless utopia of planet Malkuth. Caught in a chain of events, her first day after graduation spirals into unforeseen chaos when she is sent to Sectum with a special task. There, while facing challenging situations, the young gevurah will remember that the brightness of Malkuthian society masks profound and painful old wounds.

Volume II –Adriaa's Punishmentserves as a prequel to Volume I –The Souls in Sectumby exploring the past of our main character before her time in exile. You have the freedom to choose which volume to read first, as each offers a distinct and unique experience while complementing each other in unpredictable ways, paving the path for a larger story.

With the promise of a timeless slow-burn epic that not only questions the nature of utopia but also the very fabric of the universe, this is an open invitation to witness the bloom ofThe Omens.

I definitely  plan to stick with this sci-fi series as I enjoyed so much every chapter of it.
The characters are captivating and it’s so exciting to follow them through this new world that the author proposes.

"A Tree of Omens Vol. I" is a beautifully written journey that echoes the sci-fi classics. The author creates a world where shadows whisper secrets and characters navigate between despair and hope. Zanda, with her merkabah armor and connection to the quantum force known as Vis, embodies the spirit of resilience and discovery.
The book is rich in specialized terminology, but the author ensures that readers understand through a well-crafted glossary. This careful attention to detail invites readers to immerse themselves fully in the story.
What sets this book apart is its poetic exploration of the human spirit. The writing is both poignant and beautiful. It is not just a read but an experience, reminiscent of the classics, a profound work that lingers in the mind long after the final page.
I eagerly await the continuation and look forward to Zanda's return!

A Tree of Omens is a World that feels deeply familiar, but maybe for exactly this reason also so very intriguing. It awakes a fascination inside one about all these differences, developments and Mysteries. It makes one want to dive in all the parts of this Society, its many Branches, the Possibilities and truly explore it.
Malkuth is a "Perfect" Utopia, but underneath lies more and the story alows you to dive into it through the Charchters, that feel alive and realistic, relatable and interesting. Their views a product of their Society and Culture.

I am very much enjoying this story and quite surprised at the lack of reviews and comments.  The author is very responsive.  The world building is rich with much to figure out.  There are absolutely no info dumps explaining the world. Everything can be puzzled out from context.  For once around here I get to discover a new world through the story instead of having it all poured directly into my eyes.
I haven't gotten very far but already there is depth to the characters and their conflicts and motivations.  If anything changes I'll definetly update this review but as it stands, I highly recommend settling in for a good read.

Too many grammar mistakes, confusing redaction and implausible toponyms like Dictaduria or Negativus made me question very early why should I give this novel more of my time. And this first chapter is, apparently, a revised one. Maybe it gets better, but the first impression is downright appalling, sorry. I wish the author the best and if a seriously revised version comes out I'll consider giving it another chance.
