It's something simple, a brief glimpse into the life a female alpha wolf after humanity arrived and made things hard for wolfkind, you know, by killing them on sight, presumably in the colonization period or close.
It's not going to win any awards, but it's something new that doesn't feel like another recicled cliche or trope, it's nice to read, and while it gives off a somewhat grim feeling, there is also a vibe of "Even if things are shitty, we must stay together", and, at least for me, a slight feeling of hope on the end.
Over all, nice fic, and totally worth 5 minutes of my time.

This is a pretty good short story, but the fight itself is perhaps the weakest aspect because of the confusing attempt to explain the backstory at the same time. This leads to it being confusing and flipping back between the action and the resolution instead of leading with the group dynamics and letting it play out.
