The Apocalypse has begun, and now Demons roam the Earth. Humankind has been left with only one weapon to fight back against the end of days— the gift of the System.
Since time immemorial, Heaven and Hell have been at war over the fate of the world. But now, after many eons of battle, a victor has been declared— the Demons have won.
A giant fireblast tears across his city as the Gates of Hell are ripped open. In an instant, billions are killed, and satellites fall from the sky as human technology becomes utterly worthless in the face of the end of the world.
Fortunately for Jaco, he barely survives the opening act of the Apocalypse. But unfortunately for him, he has to live through what comes next. Those who die in the initial blast are brought back as undead, and massive fiery pits swallow up the center of every major city across the world.
All hope is not lost as the Angels left a final parting gift before their defeat. A System that bestows Humanity the power to fight back.
With it, Jaco shall do whatever it takes to survive the end of the world.

- NiCl2817Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is still very new, but it seems well-paced and engaging. The initial premise is really interesting, and I want to read more to find out how the apocalypse will change. It's still very early, but the MC seems to be well-rounded and not two-dimensional. All in all, its a fantastic start to what seems like it will be a really high quality story.
- DwarfappleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Just finished book 1. Love the progression of the main character. It's neat to see a character have different powers from the normal fantasy types. Usually you can tell what a mc powers will be, but this keeps me guessing. Can't wait to see where it goes from here.
- LimiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very promising beginning, Overall the story has a decent take on the litrpg apocalypse genre so far, worth a shot.
Premise is certainly not original but it seems to have it's own twist to it, no tutorial or anything it just begins with a big nuke, Hell invading and Angels not being able to hold them back is certainly something I haven't seen before.
MC is pretty much a blank slate in the beginning, he gets an interesting class that seems very well rounded and slightly OP, his personality slowly gets fleshed out as the story progresses, looking forward to learn more about him.
Minor spoiler
Different PoVs really help out with giving more depth to the MC in recent chapters, which only happen in later chapters.
Action is fast paced and reads well, MC has a bunch of option as to how to approach the fight and often adapts to the situation and sometimes gives himself in to his class and goes headfirst into the action.
Grammar is fine, author does fix the few typos mentioned in the comments so I'm not going to deduct point on that.
Will update the review in the future, when there's more to write about but overall it's been a good ride so far. - Nameless32Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Is it just me, or are we seeing less stories like this nowadays? Or maybe I just don't read System LitRPG Apocalypses as much as I used to.
Anyhow, this story definitely fits the bill for one of those nice LitRPG stories that you just like to binge every once in a while. You know the stakes -- apocalypse hits Earth, half of humanity dead, System helps you get stronger to survive the undead hordes. Like its predecessors, The Apocalypse's Advent steps on the number go up gas and doesn't let go for anything.
Combine that with a druidic MC bent on resisting the apocalypse and very serviceable prose, and I'm sure we'll be having a good time for as long as this story posts. I'm intrigued to see how this backdrop of the end of an eons-long war between heaven and hell will play out too.
The only thing I'll nitpick so far is the pacing, which could be slower in some places to allow for more buildup and focus on important moments, but I feel like I say that for every story nowadays so take that with a grain of salt.
Overall, this is a great LitRPG Apocalypse to add to your binge-list. Now who thinks that Pidge is a MelasD alt? - NoissarRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Some complaints about the MC not being completely solo (about chapter 12) it lasts for a few chapters and gets out decent world and character building then falls back into the solo grind while provided reason and understand of what is going on.
There was also reviews that labeled the story as "Generic" and "Bog Standard", would be nice to know what they are comparing this to. The complaints brought forth are without merit. There is not really a nice way to put it, the best I can say is that they have either read past key details and/or did not understand them or those key details do not align to the their personal preferences (or something so they are "wrong"). It gives of some weird 'I cannot understand how a person can think like this so it is obviously wrong." vibe - that said it is not a story issue.
For me personally what is and issue... there is a repeated use of the line: 'the young man'. I find this absolutely jarring and an immersion breaker at points. There are many instances when reading that feel like it is there for some kind of inside joke like reason and has me stopping - and literally scratching my head as to why it is used in some places... if they Just used "The Druid" in all those instances it would be repetitive; yes. But it would just be better as far as I can imagine, there are also spots that it can just be outright removed. There is at least one spot where it reads like: " smells nice he thought. The young man he would like to eat some food he said." That is an approximation of a line that can just pop up.
If they do not fix it you can just read to see what I mean... - WeckstofficialRoyal Road★★★ 3.0It’s an interesting story, I like the premise, I enjoy the system that’s put in place. Having it be the result of a war between Angela and demons is a fresh take (at least from what I’ve read, maybe it’s not. The writing is tough at times. I only got a few chapters in and I’ll probably come back and read more but it’s not a priority for me.
Tl;dr: interesting premise, moderately executed, at times frustrating writing. Read it if you’re looking for a break from your other titles or to cleanse your palette. - [email protected]Royal Road★★★ 3.0It's all right for a story to read but if you want something to get you truly into it and exciting not so much. I really can't either denounce it or recommend it for me personally I did not like the paths the MC chose to go with the druid and some of the system twists at the end. I'm currently on chapter 48 while writing this review don't get me wrong I'll probably still read it but it will mostly be only if I have time and nothing else to read.
- Ignore218Royal Road★★★ 2.5Overview -
The story is mostly generic. Both the story and character aspects have major flaws that need to be worked on. I’m not going to be considering anything in the first 12 chapters as spoilers, as until chapters 11/12 there are no other characters, so I will be treating it as an extended prologue.
Style -
It’s not difficult to read or anything, but it isn’t impressive by any standards. Pacing is fast in the sense that the MC progresses way too quickly for a “weak to strong” fiction
Edit: As another review pointed out, the phrase "young man" is used excessively. 35 times in just the first 5 chapters to be exact. The highest amount it appeared in a single chapter is 18 times in chapter 25.
Story -
The system and apocalypse premise is largely a crutch to help save on building a magic system and worldbuilding respectively. Doesn't mean they are always crutches, but for new writers they often are. Ex: Magic system so far is "focus on skill given by system" and worldbuilding is so far limited to the info the synopsis gives you.
Already in chapter 2 we have a plot hole. Almost directly after being almost boiled alive (enough to have 1st degree all burns over his body, some 2nd degree) He is surrounded by skeletons and used some rubble to slow them enough to kill them. The problem with this is that they are presented later as a substantial threat to lower levels, who have the advantages of not being moderately cooked, having a class, and much more time to prepare than he does.
It should also be noted that the median level for when he gets in town is about 6. By finishing off those skeletons he was level 10 (again, almost directly after the start), so why is everyone so low level after more than a month. “Cause they’re lazy” I guess? It would take an afternoon to get most people in the camp to level 10 if you had a couple scouts kiting skeletons to a forward base or something, but nah, no reason to have some standard (an extremely low standard) of competence in the lit - WontalRoyal Road★★ 1.5Sadly I have to give up reading this. Its too frustrating as the MC makes mistake after mistake and ignores useful tools he has (ie the mist spray) He has to be the dumbest MC in history.
The underlying concepts are good and pretty original, just the application lacked.
Not for me. - crpgnutRoyal Road★★ 1.5The basic premise of this book has been done hundreds of times. It feels like a copy/paste or AI rewording of other novels in the genre. Editing is super poor. This book will need a lot of effort to turn into something worthwhile, but Druids are more than vine, rock, club so perhaps read Terry Brook's books on Shannara to get some ideas. Google Allanon. Good luck.
