Description
Nik's life has been boring for the last couple of years. His engineering degree progresses adequately, he had some friends but not too many. But Nik's life would take a twist when heading home to take a shower suddenly stopped being an option. The sweet relief through toilet paper turned to ... well let's just say it isn't pleasant.
Disappointed by the class {smith} assigned to him, with no knowledge about smithing or ore refining, he needs to survive in a hostile environment.
Join Nik on his journey to survive in a world outside his comfort zone.

Crafting begins in the early tens. I am aware that some of the prose could be improved upon in the early chapters. I am working on redoing that right now!! It should get better around chapter 10.

I plan on releasing one chapter per week, this is not guaranteed since uni takes priority number 1.

Style:
I feel that the story undermines itself at points.
Spoiler : In Chapter 3, the character mentions how he's glad he's been teleported to this new world, but in the same chapter, he starts to miss his home, complaining how he stinks and whatnot. I'm not saying a person wouldn't stink two days in the wilderness, but it comes out off nowhere. I tend to see that alot, just the jump between mood is offputting.
And did we really need the whole portion in the beginning about lucid dreaming? It feels kinda arbitray. I know it is justified as the MC disbelieving his story, but I feel that it slows it down. And where is the tension? The MC
Spoiler : battles a monster, but he seems pretty relaxed after the battle and has no sense of danger at all.
The MC's thoughts. At some points, I felt like the narration would fit more in the MC's thoughts and the MC's thought could have been narrations instead. And I seem to see some repitition. In one paragraph of the MC's thoughts, he thinks oh, come on but there's another come on a sentence later. At times, it feels like mash between first person and limited third person persepctive.
I think some words can be changed, like joule. I know what joules are, but it doesn't work as well when you put it in narration. Instead of every joule of energy, every ounce of energy would have worked much better.
Story
The story starts off with a guy isekai'd into a new world in the wilderness. Most of the early chapter is how he survives and adapts to the system. It's kinda boring to me, but that just might be me reading too much of these types of stories. There's nothing memorable to make it stand out except the MC's smith class.
On another note, I have to praise the system and the worldbuilding. The system is well thought out and the author has calculated what each stat effects. In addition, he list numerous species of animals and plants, which is kinda - SublimestoneRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story starts as a pretty standard isekai, but instead of being dumped near a town, the MC is dropped in the middle of nowhere with nothing but the clothes on his back. There, he starts rebuilding the tech tree. Currently, he's at the stone age (maybe), with aspirations of getting some iron.
So far, the character is pretty interesting. However, that is character, singular. There have been a few side chapters featuring other characters, but our MC has run into no one but some hungery critters (that are MUCH stronger than him). The author seems to be focusing on a more realistic survival situation, which I like. However, that does mean that this story is very slow paced. It's good so far, and promises good things to come, but I had to take off 1/2 a star just for the fact that the story hasn't gotten too far along yet. - EregaresRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Crafting stories are always very interesting because they can go in either of two directions and it's always a mystery, how far in either direction the author will go. Contrary to the more popular, non realistic stories, where the MCs will slap an ore into a forge and it will turn into a sword , here we get a more in-depth descriptions of what, how and why the things are working. Which is interesting to read although having a chapter full of descriptions of how objects are made without any dialogue or inner monologue, makes for a dry read.
This story has potential. The author is meticulous in the descriptions they write. There haven't been any or many grammar mistakes and the language used feels natural. The main characters crafting projects are also interesting to read about and I'm looking forward to seeing what else he will build. On top of that I like the often skill gains, it contrasts the otherwise slow plot and keeps me reading.
There are of course a couple of things that I am missing in this story. Luckily the story is in its early stages so it's not something that couldn't be remedied.
First of all, if someone asked me, what kind of character Nik is, I wouldn't be able to say. There was some inner monologue in the first chapters, we got some hint about his mother but besides that I don't really know much about Nik. Lack of other character with whom he could talk, doesn't help. There are many stories where the character starts alone, isolated somewhere, Dungeon Core stories being a good example, and in each one of those, a core will have some sort of guid/familiar/servant/an another being that helps create situations where some character development might happen. It's lacking here, although we did receive an interlude that indicated that something happened/might happen. I just hope it's not 50 chapters away. Lastly, I would like to know what Niks plans are, is he staying in the forest, is he planning on looking for civilisation, is there any civilisation? I - newprotagonistRoyal Road★★ 2.0There's promise here, but a lot of work is needed. I don't mind the minor grammar and spelling mistakes, but the plot is waffly and the litrpg elements don't carry much weight. The MC spends most of the time so far running around eating berries.
The following is in the spirit of constructive criticism, and obviously very IMO and YMMV.
He's attacked by monsters and prevails, but it is a different monster each time and after defeat of the single specimen the threat seems to always disappear. The MC remains worried about the monster type, but it is not seen again. Having to struggle with a certain monster type(s) (running into it, then learning how to avoid, and finally figuring out how to live with it / eradicate it / defeat it) would lend veracity to story instead of each type being a once-and-done carnival ride. Maybe this is planned, but IMO it should be already happening by this point.
His first attempt at making a fire is an abject failure, but on second attempt when deciding to make make charcoal he not only gets fire but succeeds in building a working carchoal burner on first try despite claiming not to know how it works. Either let him know how to make a fire, or give some assistance from the smith class, or something - but the city kid to bush firemaster transformation is jarring. Same with how to make charcoal or how to build a working bloomery: let him know how it works, or let him actually struggle: "I don't know anything about this but make it work on the first try seems false". (Insight from class would be a nice element here, IMO!)
His first attempt at basket weaving succeeds with flying colors, even though system considers the result crude, it is fully functional. He doesn't pick the weaving skill, but nonetheless seems to become a proficient weaver overnight. IMO it would lend weight to the system if he struggled to make the first basket that doesn't fall apart immediately, and then picked the skill to actually produce useful objects.
