Description

This is the story of Ted, the Lollipop Man, who travels to another world to fight in the Great War. He's not really feeling it though. Ted awakens in the next world, informed that he's been summoned in order to fight the Great War to fight for God on the side of Good against Evil. As a protector of the weak and vulnerable, his sense of right and moral duty will help him on his path to victory.

Or at least, that's the theory. Because Ted wasn't so much a protector of the weak, as he was a lollipop man helping children cross the road, working the inconspicuous job whilst on witness protection. He doesn't really believe in God, his morals are mixed at best, and he's not really sure about any of the stuff he's being told in Basic Training.

But magic seems pretty cool, even if seems to be vaguely based off of video game rules, and he's not averse to fighting for the side of Good, either. But with general confusion on all sides, a planet-wide system that seems universally misunderstood, roaming magical beasts, and friendly alien slugs the size of small horses, it all seems rather a lot to take in.

In this LitRPG Fantasy Novel we follow Ted as he travels the Second World, starts to understand his powers as a GateKeeper, fight the good fight against Evil, and work out what the hell is going on and what it's all really for.

The story makes the character question everything which can be interesting at times.  Setting makes me want to know more about the actual main players and geting ot the acutal battlefield.  However the main problem is that there is it is taking forever to get there.  Excessive introspection and explanations of things like the System take up too much.  I think at this point it is fair to say that most people have been introduced to video games and are familiar with progression systems and how they work.  Most of that stuff could be summaried in a couple brief paragraphs with emphasis on what is different or unique.
