Description

After years of exile, Marcus is coming back home. A powerful mage with few equals, Marcus lives in a world full of monsters and powerful adepts, many of which have bad histories with him. But he has not come back to pursue vengeance or start a fight. All Marcus wants to do is reconnect with old friends, build himself a house, and maybe train a successor or two. Alas, the world didn’t stop just because Marcus went into exile, and not everyone is content to let go of old grievances. Strange things are happening in the world at large, too, hinting at a looming disaster of unknown nature. Still, where there is a will, there is a way. If nothing else, Marcus has a lot of magical power to throw at problems. +++ Zenith of Sorcery is set in its own original setting and isn’t related to Mother of Learning… beyond being written by the same person, of course. This is a more classical fantasy story than my previous one, with a lower level of technology and stuff like elves and dwarves, but it has a lot of worldbuilding effort put into it and its own complex magical system. The story has significant xianxia influences, but isn’t meant to be a xianxia story. For those of you not familiar with my previous work, I write relatively slowly. I intend to publish chapters at the rate of one chapter every three or four weeks, subject to further delays as life intervenes. Next Chapter Target Date:April 19th, 2026

This author wrote one of the best to date story's on this platform and after 3 chapters I see that this story will be equal or even better than his other work. He writes on a level where its strange that he doesn't write permanently, so grammar is perfect, style simply godly.
I love the story's start with not the start of a characters journey to greatness, but the homecoming. The ramifications of his live experiences to this point, a fully developed character without the faults of youth. Not a infinitely long way to power in hundreds of chapters, where every time MC got stronger a fiend with just enough power to fight against him, comes out of every bush.
Even the character of the MC is nice to read about, a down to earth orphan boy, who got in his youth a bit too much power and tried too much, just to get beaten by the old guard and nobility. Then comes back and is now more powerful and understands what he can reasonably reach and what is to much.
Hope for the best and thanks author for this wonderful story.
    Peace out Flumi
Sorry for that, tried to reach the 200 words, but that's simply too much for a non native speaker...

This novel is a rare gem. The descriptions don't just stimulate the 5 senses, but they manage to create an ambience that draws the reader in. I think this is the author's strongpoint, and if you want to be immersed, you should definetely put this on your read later list. Story is fantastic and captivating and the characters feel like people and not just dialogue bots !

CHARACTERSMarcus is an amazing human. "Toilets are unnecessary luxury!”He is obviously a really weird wizard, and it is for the better. Marcus is a powerful and insightful person, and it has been written very well. (Not easy to find. It even feels realistic - Marcus is not perfect nor he clearly hasn't had much contact with childrens or people in general. But he is still competent and understands that his disciples are not adults.) He is fun, too. Easily one of my favorite main characters.Sacred Oak... feels ominous and strange, but not malicious. "Oh yeah, we once tried to destroy humanity."Marcus's disciples are not so interesting, but their perspective adds a good touch to the story. And their argument about picking the rooms was funny.WORLD BUILDINGMagic system is good and easy to understand, I especially liked how each level has its own signature trait that makes it more powerful than the lower ones. The world is big and it feels that way. Although the main character is powerful, he is not the center of the world. The plot does not progress through him alone, he just tells the story. (Although he of course has a big role.) The background shows the escalation of planet-wide and poorly understood phenomena. The mystery is interesting.STORYFeels like a real book, not just a rush of events. The plot promises to be long and well thought out.The fight scenes aren't bad, although they're definitely not my favorite part.Cliffhangers could be annoying if they weren't so fun. There's always another problem.

I read the author's previous series, Mother of Learning, recently and when I found it on royal road I checked out the last couple of chapters where the author was like thanks for reading and support and in it the author mentioned starting a new book unconnected in any way to Mother of Learning and decided to give it a chance, short story I devoured all 14 chapters currently available and am invested emotionally in the story. I think it is very interesting in my opinion.

why is it so rare on this platform?I don't want to read about another stand-in for the author/reader that will live forever as another meaningless superman wannabe..If I have to articulate why I really love Domgoj stories, and it's exemplified in this new story:* The sense of advanture - when you have a new world, that is logical and peopled with characters that feel like real people not just props for the MC.* Flawed characters.* A world that is a character, that the weight of years is felt on it, that not all things are elaborated on, you're feeling that you're getting just part of the story of the world. and that's ok.

As expected of nobody103, an amazing story, in all aspects! The only reasons I can think of to not read the story:-it updates very slowly. Biggest problem with the story so far, if Mother of Learning is a good expectation, this story will take many years to finish.-It has heavy world building, which might not be your thing (even if it's paced very well and fallows the principle of "show, don't tell")-The MC is an adult, no teen angst\romance\discovery adventure here-There are many characters, readers will have to remember around 11 people critical to the main story.Other than that, I think everyone who loves fantasy should pick this up! Great and interesting world, deep and unique characters, excellent pacing, flow, and overall plot design. For me, it was a refreshing break from "op MC flexing on everyone and getting stronger" and explored a more realistic story of a truly strong character, one who is not interested in playing ego games or going on power trips.Tl;Dr - read a couple chapters (very long chapters!) and see if you enjoy the general concepts the story explores. If youre not looking for a specific genre (litrpg, harem, etc) and don't mind it being unfinished, this'll probably be a great story for you!

From the very first page, readers are immersed in a richly detailed magical realm, where spells and enchantments are part of everyday life. The author's world-building is nothing short of extraordinary, offering a vivid tapestry of landscapes, cultures, and magical systems that are both inventive and deeply immersive. Every detail, from the intricate spells to the enchanting creatures, is meticulously crafted, creating a world that feels alive and brimming with possibilities.
I wish this quality of writing was more present on Royalroad! The concept of an old hand in magic is super appealing too!
Just a bit annoyed at the slow updates! Hopefully author picks up the pace!
    Keep it up!

The story is overall pretty good, primarily focusing on worldbuilding and the nitty gritty of how the magic and setting works. Some people might find the protagonist starting at the 7th stage of a 9 stage realm to be boring, but most of his problems have been social in nature and you get to see his students take those steps from the eyes of someone who's been there before and actually cares about teaching his students so I think it evens out. I see a lot of people saying that the plot is too slow, or that there isn't one, but both of Nobody's stories are pretty slow to start, and almost everyone reading this is here because of how much they ended up enjoying MoL, so I think we need to let the story finish building up. The short term and long term threats have been established, and plot hooks and intrigue are already ramping up. The cast is enjoyable so far, and the magic system is well described and engaging so far.

Consider me impressed. Good quality, absolutely worth the wait. The various premises are coming into view, compounding into a nervous delight, promising greatness from every direction. Intricately grand setting, mysteries from the past and future, engaging character interactions, it's really everything I could have hoped for (and more)! Reccomend to anyone patient enough to follow along.

I loved the mother of all learning book series it hooked me from the get go and had me trapped for hours, I’m glad to see the author working on a new one and from the chapters released so far… marvelous world building  and character development. I can’t wait to see more.
