    Lets start with the overview:
I love it.  Perfect mix of lighthearted fun, grown up character with minimal complications, and progression.  The world building is AWESOME.   Some reviews pick at the MC's choices, but I think if anything this dude is written very well, reacting like a grown up guy would.  Sure, he isnt a super genius, but he takes the time to google, lol.
Style: The general feeling of the piece as created by the author's word choice, literary devices, and unique way of writing.
5/5 < Just fun bublegum.  No "mental breakdowns" that take 5 chapters to resolve, just a man working his way through a crazy situation with a positive attitude and some excitement.
Story: Plot development and pacing (i.e., how well a story is put together).
5/5 World building is so cool.  Its a great idea I havent seen before, and lends itself to some great stories.  Given the way summoning works, you would think the low stakes (at this time) would lead to it being somewhat boring to see what happens each time, but instead, the progression aspect adds just enough pressure to make each adventure exciting!
Grammar: The technical aspects of the writing, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
4.5/5 < Easily readable, good word choice, a typo here or there that is completely acceptable.
Character: The characters in the story, how well they are depicted, how realistic and three-dimensional they are. This applies to both main and side characters.
4.5/5 < The side characters are currently very flat, but entertaining in their own way.  I actually think this is GOOD for the early stages of a story.  There is a wide cast that could be developed, but we are still getting to know the MC and the world.  So many fictions nowadays feel like they have to make every character have this insanely complex backstory that we must dive into as soon as we meet them... or some dark hidden secret.  Some people are just, you know, dojo gym owners who want to make some money teaching people how to f

The story is pretty fun and entertaining so far! I'm excited to see where it goes! The characters are unique in use and so is the story. The world building is just vague enough to put ourselves into the shoes of the character without beating us over the head with exposition. Thanks for "summoning" it up for us! Pun totally intended.

Alright, let me tell ya, mate. "You Are Summoned" is not just any old novel. It's a hidden gem nestled in the depths of Royal Road. This little beauty deserves all the attention it can get. It's like finding a hidden treasure chest full of pure storytelling gold.
"You Are Summoned" is an absolute blast, mate! This novel takes you on a wild ride alongside Rico Kline, an unsuspecting bloke stuck in the world of insurance. But guess what? Life ain't so boring for him anymore. Powerful forces keep summoning him to different worlds, where he's gotta face dangerous foes, dodge sneaky traps, and even play guinea pig for some dodgy experiments. And let me tell ya, when each summoning ends, he's rewarded and sent back home. But guess what? Home ain't all sunshine and rainbows either, mate.
Now, let me spill the beans on this gem. It's the successor of "Summon Imp," and let me tell ya, it's got a twist that'll knock your socks off. The world building is top-notch, painting vivid pictures of each summoned world, with challenges that'll have you on the edge of your seat. And Rico? Well, he's a character you'll root for, mate. Watching him grow from a regular bloke to a real hero, battling deadly foes and overcoming the odds, it's pure gold.
Edit: Lemme add somethin', mates. The story really shines when it shows short episodic glimpses of other worlds. But I'll tell ya, it loses some of its allure when the summons turn into long grinds to get some resource or win a tournament. Not that all long summons are boring—the ones in the "defend this place or person" category are wicked good—but the ones with like three paragraphs of rules get old fast. In my opinion, the meta progression should be kept earth-side because that's where we know things matter and have stakes.

Good stuff, the premise is simple but enjoyable. I didnt give 5 stars just cause the novel is still new and I don't know how it will go from here so I didn't see fair given full points.
Also, chapters feel short but I think that is my fault for enjoying it and reading like it was a competition.

There is so much I love about this story and so many things it could do better. The rating is pretty set at this point, and this review is late to the party, but I wanted to chime in anyways. I read this a few weeks ago and still think about it. I will come back to it soon, so no matter how negative parts of this may sound, I really do enjoy the story.
The concept is awesome. I went in expecting that the MC was going to get inconveniently summoned a lot, and it delivered, but it's a lot deeper than that as well. The way the world is set up seems to flow nicely from one world to the other without feeling too forced or repetitive. The integration of the mechanics also leads to excellent world-building. Story 5/5.
The style is fine. Nothing mindblowing in the writing, but nothing really holding it back. Neither good nor bad. Except for the prologue. I know prologues get a lot of hate around here, and typically, I'm not against them. But this one was pretty bad and almost made me drop it before I got a bit into the main story. If you are reading this before starting, I recommend skipping it. I found it confusing and jarring to switch to MC POV after. It gave away too much, which ruined reveals later on while at the same time not giving enough to hook me. There have been worse ones, but I also have read many better ones. Style 4.5/5
The roughest part was the MC. I had a lot of issues relating to the guy for various reasons, but I also didn't really find myself rooting for him much, either. Starting off with the obvious complaint. The MC is a wet blanket, at least until he is not. The change happens suddenly and switches back and forth frequently. Now the author works this into the lore, but I would have preferred it to just be consistent. Beyond that, I feel it is hard to describe the MC; is he smart or not? Sometimes he makes rational, well, thought choices and plans ahead; other times, he just does something stupid for plot reasons. That isn't to say a character can't

Royal road had many litrpg stories, however few are as creative and unique as “You are summoned” which is a fun twist on the usual mage archetype with healthy serving of system shenanigans. All and all; through months of off and on following this book I can say with confidence that it’s been a slow burn. While not unpleasant; the plot can be quite lethargic at times and goes overly into side characters, while not directly bad it just isn’t my thing. I genuinely can’t wait to see a audiobook version of this series.

Pretty good so far. Nothing spectacular, nothing terrible. Our MC is your average duder with a new power/system/magic that he is forced into using wanting or not. There are a few cliches running around here and there.
You have your usual female figures who for whatever reason thinks the MC is unique or whatever. His exposition helper guide will obviously be a interest eventually. Same for his female summoner.
As I said pretty okay read so far. The only thing I could see really derailing things is there are alot of story threads. The story's scope is rather expansive and story events are heading to a place where the MC is always bumbling from one emergency to another. This can lead to the story feeling frantic and disorganized with the MC having no control and the narrative hand deciding everything. Hopefully this is avoided. Otherwise no matter how inventive or cunning the MC he'll just feel like a puppet plot device.

Not much else to say aside from the title. Its been a while since I read Summon Imp, I can't remember if it had a Litrpg system or not. I can remember that the main character has a cast of supporting characters they were summoned to regularly allowing a sort of multiweaved narrative to be constructed across what would normally require different novels entirely.
This story seems to miss that point, instead giving us a much more episodic 'Summon of the week' style fare, where the main character just gets randomly assigned to a one-off character for an interesting, but ultimately unsatisfying and fleeting snippet.
Its certainly examining the premise of the summoned being's perspective well, buts it's also doing so in such a way that the story is being lost I feel.
That isn't to mentioned issues with the Main Character being extremely reactive and not proactive at all. I won't spoil it, but to be brief his lifestyle adjustment to the new reality is underwhelming.
Overall its still a fine read at 3.5 stars, but it's also hard not to be dissapointed when the character-work lags behind in comparison to the story's very recognisable cousin.

The premise of this novel is extremely promising. You get action-packed vignettes giving a glimpse into other worlds, the generic progression fantasy we all so crave, and some inspired real world complications and nuisances stemming from being a summonable creature.
This story started out strong (4/5). Well paced, compelling narrative, a bland but not intolerable main character. Lots of promise, and plenty of reason to keep reading.
As of chapter 70, however, well over a third of the story has been consumed by a single summoning which has outstayed it's welcome. The plot has been put on hold, and the conflict is sterile since we really have little to no reason to care about either side of it beyond the fact that the MC is contractually bound to help one of them (and not necessarily well, mind you).
It's all well written, but the greatest prose cannot overcome the lack of reader engagement.
Style: nothing objectionable from the writing style. Descriptions are generally concise, action scenes are fairly evocative, and the dialogue flows. A strong point for sure.
Story: most of my review before this section was my critique of the story. The gnome section has dragged the story off on a tangent.
Grammar: nothing noticeably wrong, so no complaints at all.
Characters: no character really pops off the page except ironically, the gnomes.

The story so far is just a down on his luck guy loosing the cruelty lottery and spending his days suffering both physically, mentally and emotionally in both the summoning and real life.
I'm just not getting the appeal here, the protagonist gets no help and no reward for being continuously thrown into guaranteed failure situation.
Oh and I don't get why he's immediately just okay with everything that's happening to him.
