It is over 4000 years in the future. The Dyson sphere project was assaulted by an unknown threat and the Republic split. Psychics implant aliens under their brains while other aliens attempt to exert their influence over the solar system. As the only solar system in the galaxy to have one slip stream, Sol is a target for everyone for it's security and abundance of psychic energy.

A young child, synthetically made from purely refined psychic energy, is chosen by the emperor as a host candidate. Seven candidates before him had tried and all were driven insane by the immense psychic power the emperor wyrm contained. The most successful experiment in human history must try to regain political power over Sol, while maintaining his sanity, and solve what it means to be human.
