For the last year, he has been prepping for the latest VR game to be released. Having scrimped, saved, and worked countless hours of overtime, he is finally ready to leave his humdrum life behind and pursue his dream of being a professional gamer.

While his target game has more money behind it than most, it's still not going to be a simple journey. To make enough to achieve his dream, he will have to explore strange lands, work with the government of his new world and master a niche in the game.

Yet with strange occurrences happening in reality and out of it, he will soon learn that VSO isn’t just another VR game.

Grammar: Completely readable and comprehensible, though clearly far from perfect in the early chapters, and I’m questioning whether the author is actually correcting what’s suggested. I guess just hop onto a random early chapter and see whether the suggestions have been applied if you’re a grammar addict?
Style: I don’t care about “show don’t tell”... as long as you get this sweet progression going! And those appetizing LitRPG blue screens too! (The author is unusually petty with them by the way, could add a lot more of those.) Anyway, less description is more time for progression as I like to think!
Story: The story is compelling, interesting to read, and is nicely harmonized with the progression. That’s what makes it a 4.5/5~
Why not a 5/5? Cuz the author unfortunately forgot about / poorly conveyed why the story takes certain turns. The interesting story makes the plot armor a forgettable background element, but then, out of nowhere, a strange story turn pulls you out of the flow, making you ask: Why? Why did he do that? I think I get it, but… why? Is it a combination of the author not looking back on what was planned and an unexplained leap of plot logic?
Anyway, nice. You just have to accept that sometimes the story progression takes over the worldly logic as we can see it from our omniscient reader perspective.
Characters: I’m just not one for characters you see… Just give me something palatable and I’ll give it 4/5. Give me something good enough, and that’s 5/5. In this case, they’re what the story needs. Neither awkward nor forced. Neither too smooth nor too rough.
They’re what the story needs. Good.

MC is nicely mature, risk aware, and doing his best to prepare on a budget.
Like his idea of going to the most remote wilderness to avoid all that guild war trouble bound to spawn in more populated regions.
Great actions sequences with plasma rifles and pistols instead of bladed weapons.

Genuinely well written. Story is nice and the characters are likable. The only thing holding this story back for me is the schedule. Slow releases means that I have been putting off diving back into it after about ch130.
I think my only gripe with the story until this point has been the fact that he is very much in a position where he is forced to be a loner. People from the real world simply aren't trustworthy enough to involve in his core adventures and that is honestly a typical thing in VR stories because at the end of the day..People are out for themselves. This means that we often get MC's that rely on NPC's, companion beasts
That's going to be an issue if he doesn't get some kind of massive guarantee that the average player can't just screw him over. He is kind of at that point already, but there needs to be some more system enforced rules to prevent that kind of thing if he ever wants to expand with people from the 'real' world. As it stands, his faction is basically gonna just be full of NPC's (people from the game reality) and a few rare individuals.

Really enjoying this take on virtual reality and superpowers.  Has a bit of a Praise The Orc (Korean Novel) feel to it with VR being reality and all.  The characters are enjoyable to read.  And the powers are quite interesting.  Am hoping that we will see some of the other paths fleshed out for game mechanics.  Can't wait to read what happens next.

This is an amazing take on VR and I cannot wait for more it deserves every bit of recognition it will eventualy get. I implore, NO I DEMAND yall give this a shot. It will not let you down. The game seems amazing, the author is taking their time with worldbuilding while still keeping the story rather fast paced with action but slow in strength. Which is exactly the type of story I like. Also, there was no random falling in love over stupid things so it seems like a slow burn romance which is my favorite.
edit: author also really listens to reader feedback!!! So expect the story to only get better as time goes on!

I cannot tell you how long i've been following the story; despite the release sped, the story is excellent, each chapter is worth a read. I have greatly enjoyed this sotry and the characters, the writing is excellent. My biggest fear is this going on hiatus and I am never able to reach however it ends. Absolutely worth a read, and over a thousand pages to read before you end up waiting with the rest of us.

I have caught up to this novel and I keep coming back to check when the hiatus ends. It is such a great concept , I wish author released chapters weekly and I would gladly pay for extra chapters on Patreon. Just hope everything is good with the author cause it will be so sad if such a good novel gets dropped.

Really liking the story, only 60 chaps into it so far, and it just took a bit of a IRL turn.
MC getting a new game and deciding to chance all his savings to make it big.
Starting out as a lvl 1 noob with no idea how the mechanics of his new class works he steps into the world of plasma weapons, beasts and ancient ruins.
Joining the exploration guild he sets of into the wild world.

The world building and the idea behind it is good, but the Mc's personality ruined it in my opinion. I know the author is trying to make him seem as he is learning and makes mistakes,
    [SPOILER ALERT]
But for a man who has bet everything on the game, even risking going homeless, he just doesn't even properly prepare. Not seeing what a beast is despite knowing that they are very dangerous. Not examining his weapons, not checking how to apply those medicines, nothing at all. He always relies on that mercenary, making 'himself' a meat shield and always takes hits and usually not even try to shoot them even when he is at point blank range to buy time for her to kill those. JUST SHOOT THE FKIN BULLET IN ITS EYES RATHER THAN SKULL! By the way, anyone wondering how a camping kit including kitchen utencils like burner, pots, knife etc along with tent, first aid and a weeks food cost 700 credit whereas a single pair of clothes cost 200-300 credits! How does that economy make sense? And another point I'm mad about, Mc is claustrophobic so he goes 'hmmm, do you know what goes better with being claustrophobic? YEAH! Choosing a class that states that they have to go exploring'. Who thinks exploring treasures and immediately thinks above ground exploring rather than caves? If you are betting everything for your future, the person thinks everything through because its the biggest decision that makes or breaks their life.
Great work done by the Author in my opinion in building the world and its concepts, but i think you went a little too overboard with the Mc's personality.

I wanted to like this story I really did. but theres way too much telling us what happens ans not nearly enough showing. It feels like the author has great bones for a story, but hasn't really done anyrhing to give us more than the absolute basics of what we need to move the story along. Its very dry
