“If this is a story worth saving, then mediocrity has truly won.”— Celestia von Reingarde * * * * * After one late-night drive ended my life, I woke inside the very first webnovel I mocked. In the pages of Tower of the End, Celestia von Reingarde was nothing more than a petty villainess, a spoiled noble girl with sharp eyes and crimson pupils, remembered only for bullying someone until the “hero,” Arthur, arrived to play the gentleman. One humiliation, and she faded away so the harem could bloom. Except now, I had become Celestia. At first, I thought I could slip away. Why should I meddle with Arthur’s destined rise? Let him climb the tower, collect his lovers, and save the world. I could just live quietly in the background. But the world disagreed. A voice seared through my mind: [Warning! Good story with a well written main character that makes smart decisions. Reasonable power progression with MC getting stronger but still encounters challenging problems. The system elements aren't overly complicated or hard to digest. The premise of maintaining story relevance is interesting - I'd say jury is still out on how it will end up, but for now I like it. Highly recommend. There are a rare few quality villainess stories on RR, and this is one of them.

Something about this novel makes it different from other "Villainess" novels. Very visual and descriptive writing, but not too much to make it dragged out + dynamic plot, but not to the point to make it overwhelming and over-the-top. Perfectly balanced, like all villainess novels should be!
Main character feels alive and her motivation is clear. She's logical, calculating, but not to the point of an exaggerated anime character. Overall, great read, 10/10.

Celestia is an anti-hero in a tower/otome hybrid book, in which the plot of that book is garbage. Her characterization is probably the most interesting thing in this story, so to start, she has a villainess tone and demeanor, but outright cruel, but not a hero either. She is smart, and does not act like a brat, to which the old villainess did. The setting is nice because while the plot of the book she transmigrated to is pretty trash, it’s only from the original protagonist who misses a lot of the world building details because he wouldn’t care about them, which lets us the reader experience a more fleshed out world (well it’s above generic at least), and characters are above generic too somewhat. My rating is based off the fact that it’s fun, has some great moments, and writing is decent.

This is a great story, and I think some of the harsher reviewers are the fault of the author mislabelling the story. The story is tagged as an anti-hero story, but it clearly needs the villainous lead tag, and I think some of the worse reviews come from wrong expectations more than from any failure in the story itself.
The main character is not outright evil, but she is also very clearly not just an anti-hero, as she doesn't just want to survive, but to thrive in her new life, she is willing to cross lines that make her a villainous lead without much doubt.
She at times involves herself in slavery for profit, regardless of how well she treats her slaves her motives are clear, and on occasion kills innocent people or people who have completely surrendered
For me, that is one of the most entertaining parts of the novel. It does not pretend its mc is cleaner than she is, and it gives the story a strong lead to follow.
Style: The writing style is good. The prose is clear, easy to follow, and strong enough to carry both the character moments and the more dramatic turns of the plot. The pace does shift depending on what the story is trying to emphasize, with some parts being more slowly fleshed out while others move forward much faster, but overall I think it is generally well paced for the kind of story it wants to tell. That flexibility works more often than it hurts, because the novel seems more interested in giving weight to the moments that matter than in forcing every section to move at the same speed.
Story: The story is very nice, and I have enjoyed the main character’s relatively grounded point of view. The narrative feels like it is following two conflicts at once. On one side, there is the struggle against the original story elements, that is the role she's been placed in, the expectations on her, and the dangers built into the world that the og mc faces in the og story. On the other hand, there is the conflict with the system itself, as she tries to preserve h

I do not usually read stories on Royal Road. I've only ever read a handful. For me to sit down and read something here means that Ireally, reallylike it. Ireallylike this. This is a Villainess story mixed in with a tower climber, which is something I'm pretty sure I have never seen before. The tower climber section hasn't been super expanded on yet because it's early days, but the Villainess sections areamazing.Celestia is one of the most fun protagonists I have read in a while. She is very deeply flawed, and every thought and interaction she has is just so fun you can't help but root for her. It's rare for a Villainess story to actually be a villainess, rather than a girl who wants to try being the heroine instead. This is an awesome change of pace.Besides just Celestia, the other characters are damn entertaining too. It is no secret here that most authors on RR can barely handle one character's perspective. That isnotthe case for this story. If you like this genre -hell, even if you don't- I think this is worth reading. The grammar is perfectly fine. There are mistakes, but the author implements the edit suggestions, so what else can you ask for?The prose/style works pretty well. It does dip a tiny bit after the early chapters (because I assume those were read and rewritten a million times), but it's never notgood, at the very least.Honestly, I'm not sure why you're reading this and not the story, but you do you.

    What's it about?
A modern rich family heiress with neglectant parents transimigrates into magical medieval world with rich parents who actually care—she's forced into action by the malevolent system.
    Pacing and style
The story focuses a lot on giving you the feel of the characters, immersing you into the mindset for the first few chaoyers, it starts out slow, but gets fast quick. I like the style.
    Story
It's the classical transimigrated as a doomed character, trying to rewrite their fate, except the MC is a bit too competent to be caught up in meta-shenanigans and instead tried to make a life for herself and (deal with the system)
    Characters
Very vivid I can see and feel them, unexpected from a cliched genre, but they are quite clear. Celestina herself is very well introduced, she's the classical overcompetent anti-hero who does good things because she doesn't like seeing ugly stuff. Her parents too are curious, I'm excited to see what they have to bring.
    Removed ½ ⭐ because I don't like the rich
    Grammar
My eye for grammar is as good as my sight, which is—legally blind. Everything seems consice and well-flowing and I didn't have any difficulty understanding.
    Overall
If you like a slower-paced character focused story with some villainess shenanigans then this is for you

This story definitely deserves to be on the Rising Stars list as the quality of the writing stands as an example of some of the best that this platform has to offer. If you like the villainess tropes you will find this read comfortable with just enough of its own premise and flavor to keep things interesting. There are little things I could probably nitpick such as the pacing, but ultimately, I have enjoyed reading it so far and I look forward to reading more.

This one surprised me a bit honestly. I went in expecting the usual villainess setup but it actually feels more grounded than most of them, especially in how the MC handles her situation. She’s not overpowered right away and doesn’t magically fix everything, which I liked. There’s a bit of scheming but it’s more subtle, more about positioning and timing than big dramatic moves. Makes it feel a bit smarter overall. The tone is also kinda different, less comedic than some villainess stories, a bit more serious without going full grim. It works though, gives more weight to her decisions and the consequences. Some parts can feel a little slow, mostly when it leans into internal thoughts, but if you’re into character-focused stuff it’s actually pretty engaging.Overall it’s a solid take on the genre, not super flashy but it sticks with you more than expected. I’d say it’s worth a read if you’re tired of the usual formula.

What the title says. It’s very good so far. I wish more of it was out so that I could keep reading. The main character, ‘Celestia,’ is quite interesting.
The way the book started definitely feels novel- and so does the type of person who transmigrated. It’s like this Celestia was meant to be here.
I hope things go well for her. Because some ominous tidings are looking up from below the system screen.
