Uncanny Healing

Description

Kate has recently gotten to the top of the leaderboards as a support hero in her current favorite game. When an offer for what sounds like a new beta is offered as a reward for her achievement, she decides to throw caution to the winds and sign up.

Unfortunately, it's not a beta she's signing up for. Instead, she's unwittingly agreed to help cull the monsters infesting the very real world of Giltar. It's all right, though; she'll have a handy Guardian to help her learn the ropes and other Heroes to keep her squishy healer body in one piece.

Except her Guardian is a no-show. And she's out in the middle of nowhere, miles away from where the other Heroes were dumped together, forcing her to rely on the kindness of the locals to stay alive another day.

When her Guardian finally does show up, she's offered a rare class as compensation for the mix-up. It has the potential to make her a powerful healer, though it's historically a class not very popular with the locals.

Still, this new power gives her an edge. As she grows stronger, she might even be able to figure out how to do the one thing everyone insists she shouldn't do: go on the offensive.

First attempt at litRPG, sorry if I accidentally smack face first into any of the genre no-nos.

This story is off to a great start! (Review at 15 chapters published). The premise feels novel. The characters are likeable and have believable motivations. So far things feel earned for the main character, and they haven't become ovetpowered relative to their level yet. I always love a good story about a healer, and so far their skills are mainly for just that (albeit one exception), which I like. I'm excited to see where this story goes!

A fun start to an isekai story.   The writing is much better than average.  The grammar is high quality, and the writing flows.  I don't have to grimace and ignore errors like with many stories on this site.
A fairly standard setup - Main Character has a special healing class that is overpowered but with some special drawbacks -  but the Main Character is likeable and the story has the right amount of humor so far.  We will see whether the drawbacks actually cause any real difficulties.
I find myself smiling regularly as I read.
Definitely on the "fun escape" side rather than the "gritty grimdark horrible things happening to everyone" side so far, which I personally prefer. If your tastes lie more on the gritty side, this may not be for you.
Definitely looking forward to reading more.  Highly recommended.
Wow.  I still need more words? Yikes. Two hundred is too many.  I'll bet a lot of people end up not providing advanced reviews because of this word requirement. Wordy wordy type type type until I can submit this review... How much longer will it take? I surely must be close to two hundred words by now! Maybe another sentence or two full of random words? Words, words, wordity words! It must be enough by now!

I’ve read up to Chapter 30, and this is my first review—so take that as you will. That said, this novel has genuinely impressed me. The world-building is well thought out, the character development is solid, and the supporting characters have depth and personality rather than feeling one-dimensional. There are no overwhelming or tedious info dumps, which makes the pacing feel smooth and engaging. Overall, it’s a high-quality read that I would highly recommend—10/10.

No complaints about the grammar or style; competently written. I wish this would deviate somewhat regarding the usage of certain tropes, but I am very grateful for another healer story. Especially with a protagonist that  as of chapter 43 still needs to be protected on a battlefield as a limited and fragile asset, yet is able to influence the outcome.
+ no major curse of stupidity for characters
+ healer with genuine interest in healing
+ healer with limited offensive potential
+ negative consequences from being a squishy healer
+ interactions with a local population
+ somewhat slower but still all right tempo
+ innate conflict between heroes and locals
+ imported heroes are not shining knights
    + interested subclass
    +/- no primary antagonist yet
+/- protagonist with a slight savior complex
    - stunted & ignorant assistant
    - forgetful/stupid & information-withholding assistant
    - arbitrary artificial rules (like you can only level up in cities)
    - gods meddling
    - the protagonist keeps tripping over her clothes but fixes it only as an afterthought
    - powerful but nerfed class
    - painting majority of transmigrated heroes as indifferent jerks

It is still early in the story, but so far this has been a really refreshing read. For the most part it is a very traditional isekai story, following most of the basic tropes. But they are flavored up a bit with a twist in how the MC arrives, a twist in the some of the details of the world, a bigger twist in the nuances of her class, and perhaps the biggest twist of all is a healer story where the character is actually a healer who does healer things.
The vibes are very cozy and wholesome, in that our MC is legitimately a good person and a bit naive in general. Though the world is maybe a bit less wholesome, and there is definitely grittier action and things might not always be stress free.
The only thing I would consider is a bit negative is that there is a lot of exposition being "told not shown", due mostly to the fact that there is a essentially a tutorial character who explains everything all the time. We spend a lot of the early chapters just asking it questions and being told things, instead of discovering things in scenes and events. The upside to this is that character is pretty fun and well written, so interacting with it is its own kind of scenes. Also this will probably just be a thing for the early chapters as we rush to set up the world before our character is deep in it.
Ultimately, I am looking forward to each new chapter of this, excited to see where it goes!

The writing quality is good. Many details are good.
I have serious issues with some of the story's basic settings.
For one, the local people are fundamentally weaker than the summoned "heroes" and will always be. I don't like that one bit. They don't even have the system, only a tiny fraction of the leveling speed of the heroes, and many other disadvantages. No wonder MC calls them "NPCs".
I don't like that it all depends on "gods" and that they ar3e watching and play so much of an active role throughout the story, but I would not down-rate for this personal preference.
I still kept reading. Until Ch. 23 Consequences. That's where I dropped this story.
The system is from the gods. MC is screwed and pretty much forced into a certain sub-class choice (the main class is set through the summoning) that is only shown to her because of her terrible situation to begin with, to give her a chance at all.
That sub-class is very high rarity. And it comes with many rules that the gods refuse to inform her about - even that such rules exist! - and she is severely punished for actually using that class's skills.
Not that any of that even makes any logical sense:
The heroes are supposed to be very OP, the gods summon them for just that reason, to cull the monsters that would be too much for the far weaker locals. So the MC is OP, but only a a support, but somehow that deserves punishment? And a ridiculously harsh one too! Which she only finds out afterwards, because her guide, given to her by the gods and a servant of them, is not allowed to tell her anything truly important.
This story has too much more or less hidden sadism. Towards the locals who are by design uselessly weak compared to the summoned heroes, towards the MC by punishing her for things she did not know because she deliberately was not told anything, and she was forced into her choice to begin with. A grand class is offered because of the danger she is in due to her being summoned into the wrong place, only to reve
