- 167fiveRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Alright, I dont normally do advanced reviews, but this story just deserves it.
I honestly don't know why this story is not so much more popualar. (Maybe cause it does not align with the new meta?)
But this is such a good story.
The starting is such a good hook, and the descriptions of David's fears of being the heir are so vivid. He is such a good and relatable character, feeling like someone I knew all my life.
The whole chase for the antidote, and the ticking time to the boy's death gives such a good feeling of suspense and worry that I have not felt before in another story.
And damn... Niala's reactions are so funny.
Her and David's interactions genuinly feel like something I would see in an actual published light novel or anime. The slice of life aspect after the tense start is so nicely placed, that it feels I'm right there in the story.
The worldbuilding is also supreb, with the mentions of David's royal family and the Free Couriers hinting at a very deep world, but not showing too much, leaving readers wanting more.
The grammer and style are also great, and I love that the author actually takes feedback from his readers and incorporates them, which I always like to see.
I'm definately going to continue following and reading this story. To any new readers reading this review, I beg you to check this story out. - Ally_BooRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The writing is already strong from the start, but around Chapters 3 and 4, the story really finds its heart and soars. David, our gruff courier protagonist, reveals a layered personality and some genuinely cool powers that make him stand out.
But the real magic happens when Niala enters the scene and takes more space. She’s incredibly easy to connect with, and her background and personality add real emotional weight to the story.
The dynamic of Niala and David together is a mix of survival grit and unexpectedly funny, human moments. The chemistry is both fantastic and funny since the very first moments.
There’s a spark there that brings warmth even in the harshest circumstances.
The tone shifts naturally with the stakes starting chapter 3-4 and we have some very funny moments that keep things even more engaging.
The worldbuilding is progressive and we get some clever alchemy and hidden powers or truths that give this fantasy story an excellent flavor.
It starts simply, but becomes something much deeper.
Fans of fantasy with heart, humor, and just the right hint of mystery and intrigue will feel right at home. - G1IRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Easy five stars! Made me laugh a little, cry a little, smile a lot. Absolutely adorable, neat little adventures, but I’m mainly here to take a break from the world and this is exactly what I’m looking for. Headpats for Niala. All the headpats.
That said, a very minor quantity of grammatical and spelling errors are present scattered throughout, but it well exceeds the level of editing proficiency that I expect from the average web serial, so I’m quite happy with it
EDIT: the writing continues to improve and the plot continues to develop. I’m still having a great time. If you know people looking for something relaxing and romantic, recommend them this. - Miana MaoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.01st of all, please excuse my grammar. I’m not very good at it. But hey, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t read this, right? Just kidding!
So, this story was sitting on my read later list. I read every genre depending on my mood, and this time I wanted something to relax with something lighter, since I had just finished something a little heavy. I opened up my list, and the cover immediately screamed, “Read me! I’m the cozy, fluffy one.” So yeah, I started. I went through the first volume with Niala and David.
And as the title said: I summon all the romance readers to assemble here and read this! Whoever misses it… how dare you? To be honest, it gave me butterflies sometimes, and I even found myself giggling like an idiot. How dare you, author, do that to me? (In a good way!)
Before I proceed to the next part, I thought I’d leave a review. Maybe it’ll help someone find this story? (I really don’t know how these algorithms work. But who cares!)
Well, now... thank you to the author. I hope you continue writing like this and give us more wonderful stories to enjoy. And to the readers: GIVE IT A TRY! - RahtaeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I was recommended this after i asked a friend for a nice slice of life story. So far It's been great and after 130+ chapters I have high hopes of it staying that way.
I absolutely adore Niala and David's relationship both how they got there and how it's currently ongoing. I've had many laughs during my reading. It's not all jokes and romance though!
There are bits of adventure mixed in and while it's not what i aimed for when i started reading. It's done in a manner that i haven't minded it to much.
My hope is that if you decide to read this, you will enjoy it as i have! - rustyDboltRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I just binged and it is great. There were a few issues at the start but after the first chapters the quality jumped and became very good. The writing got stronger and easier to read. The characters feel real and I love how they act in a relationship. It made me happy to read. The magic system is cool and not overly done in any part of the story. It is interesting without taking over the whole plot. This was perfect to read while I am with my family and away from my girlfriend. I will be following this story as closely as I can. With so many chapters it is very impressive. Thank you for making this. It has improved my life and made me happy.I also want to say how amazing the multi point of view is. I have not found a story that does it in a way that adds to the story like this. The short cutaways between chapters add so much and I am glad you use them. I like seeing Niala experience David without knowing everything from her side and it makes their relationship feel much deeper in a great way for the reader because we only know one side of the relationship fully st most times.I love the frequent posting but 5 is a lot I hope you can keep managing it but not feel pressure to maintain 5 always bc that's insane and the quality is sooo good!!
- 2TKTK1234567Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5I really like the authors style with the fact that they engage with the readers and the author notes are amazing! Also how the other tells the story is amazing.
I love the plot and it is really good story. I really enjoy the romance and the vibes. The book often subverts expectations. Through there are surprises and plot twists but it will all eventually (mostly) make sense. There is also a few hints of the feature and the like and the other just does a amazing job fleshing everything else.
The grammar isn't the best and there is mistakes from time to time but it's worth it and in the end it is not very bad (it's little things like writing her instead of his)
The characters are amazing and detailed with mentions of their past from time to time and the author has been exploring the main characters past. There is a lot of thought that has gone into the characters, there personalities and actions.
The world is really detailed and full of lore stuff that I am really curious about but I think the author is doing a great job with the story and I am inticipating the next chapter and each chapter after it. - RamrikaiRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The world building is smooth as silk. The lead characters are both a near perfect balance of badass and adorable while still somehow being super relatable. There's plenty of action and intrigue to keep the slice-of-life style from getting boring.
Only place it loses points in my book is some very minor grammar mistakes. - slepnirsonRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is a lovely, yet not simple-sweet, romance and adventure. The slice-of-life aspect is that they're making a life for themselves and adventure intrudes, intermittently, and is very well-done; so far it feels like, for the most part, they still maintain their agency.
The nebulous "style" element falls in the 2nd best category: unnoticeable. Natural - which is impressive for a multi-perspective story -, neither too long nor too choppy, the language is complex but not excessive, and the pacing finds a comfortable middle-ground.
The story is, again, lovely. Heartwarming, while still dealing with heavier topics and the darker side of prominence, fame, and just general adventuring. The plot is fantasy, without seeming fantastical.
The innocent catkin manages to come across as only slightly naive - charmingly so, not irritatingly so - and all the rest are recognizable character types written so that even the tropes (Mr. AB, lol) come across as believable. The depth of the situations they're in match the depth of the emotions, and they're decently - or at least increasingly - mature and healthy about their emotions and relationships.
Grammar is good. There're occasional errors, but they're usually very minor and edit suggestions are taken well. It's better than normal for RR, and barely shy of perfect, really. Sentence structure is good, paragraphs and dialog well-sized and divided appropriately, and the author doesn't lean on a few overused grammatical tricks/elements. - RilkefanRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I'm not against cozy - post-covid I seem to be reading a ton of it - but it's actually pretty hard to write well without being treacly or saccharine or cringy. Here there's just a brief gesture at conflict and then the MMC and FMC meet and immediately solve each other's problems. The MMC is by my lights a borderline bully with his teasing, and the FMC, while fairly charming, mostly expresses herself by blushing. About 50% of the dialogue is middle-school-level innuendo or double entendres about sex. Well-intentioned serial that doesn't work at all for me.
Updatd to add half a star because the author was responsive to some of my issues.
