I found this on Reddit and it led me here. I read the first fifty chapters in a single day I just couldn't put it down and stop. Now I check my notifications several times a day to see if the latest chapter has come out. There's mystery, what's eternity, what's the ultimate goal, what's going on, who's keeping what secrets, what could happen if everything was laid out on the table. I eagerly wait for each and every chapter. - DenileRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a pretty compelling story, time loops aren't a new concept but this is a fresh take for me and I'm enjoying it.
The characters feel pretty realistic in response to the situations they find themselves in.
There are a couple of minor gramar/ proofing issues across the chapters I've read, but nothing painful.
5/5 hope the Lise can keep the chapters coming. - suisimpRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is probably the best looper I've read in a few years, and I do not say that lightly: I've read every popular timeloop story on this site. The loop is short enough that it doesn't fall into massive loops, while having enough to do and progress that it never turns repetitive.
The characters are distinct and compelling and the world is intriguing.
Of course, when it comes to progression fantasy, the power system needs to be amazing, and this one executes well on both in-loop and metaprogression.
Because the loop is shared between different loopers and power can be accumulated between loops (this is core to the power system), there are very real stakes to dying or failing in a loop, especially later on.
The start to this story is good, and it becomes amazing later on. Highly recommend. - AnehaliaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story was a roller coaster ride that just kept restarting. As the title states, it's a time loop story. I don't want to say more because of spoilers, but the story really pulled me along, and I enjoyed it greatly.
The style of the writing was really engaging and kept the story moving though lots of loops. The reason I took off half a star was there were some points where the author skipped part of a loop, or tied many loops together and I didn't realize it till a second later. It wasn't that big a deal, but the after thought of "oh, we are here" was a bit of a stutter step. I do feel quite nitpicky in taking half a star for that, and debated just making it five stars.
The story was really well planned and every detail has a purpose. It was fascinating seeing the pieces come together and make sense.
The grammar, especially in later chapters, could use a little cleaning up. Nothing too atrocious, but I took a star off for the fact that I was noticing some small things.
The character score is another place where this story shines. Every character has a unique personality and is quite interesting to meet and learn more about. Even the "unaware", are interesting with their own motives.
All in all, I'm adding this to the list of stories I recommend people. - SlaynRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Wonderful story. A lot of mystery and time loops. Easy to read and interesting. You want every loop to know what the author cooked. A lot of hidden enemies and a lot of twists.
You feel like in mother of learning with some litrpg elements. The betrayals and the differents classes are interesting. - VinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Wonderfully crafted novel with lot of suspense and forethought being done to make all characters have their own flesh and character.
Most of the story is from a 3rd person perspective and tailors a a lot of plot as it progresses. The start can be abrupt and confusing but slowly with time many things start becoming more clear - someoneusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Interesting time loop with its own rules. LitRPG elements are well integrated with the story and not overbearing. The mysteries and reveals are spaced well enough to keep the reader engaged. Good prose and grammar, the occasional mistakes are easy to skip over and don't impact the experience much.
- Skylark (Dion Sky)Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Time Looped is, hands-down, the best mechanical treatment of a time loop story I've encountered in any form of media.
'Oh', you ask? Those are fighting words!
Well, yes. They are. Annoyingly, I can't talk too much about this aspect of the story without delivering major spoilers, but that should be a telling indication on its own. What I can say is that, at just ten minutes long, it's a much shorter loop than most readers will be accustomed to. And trust me, it gets more complicated from there in the best possible way, delivered so smoothly you'll wonder why no one's thought of this idea before. If you love beautifully clever mechanics, I think you'll agree with me this is one of the best time loop concepts out there not just on Royal Road, but worldwide. I'd give it six stars if I could.
Where it's let down slightly is that the frankly genius concept is occasionally marred by opaque delivery; there were a number of points where I thought I'd misunderstood or gotten the whole idea wrong, and it was only after chatting with the author directly that I was able to confirm 'yes, the concept really is as great as I thought', and 'yes, this actually does have the makings of a masterpiece'. And as far as issues go, it's nothing a little editing can't melt away. In light of that, this story is woefully underrated and it's a crime it hasn't picked up many more followers. I'm hoping this review can help change that.
Occasional points of logistical confusion aside, the writing style is smooth and easy to follow. Lovely. The grammar is also good; there are some errors, but nothing that took me out of the story or led to confusion.
The characters in this story are fine. They're definitely tropey, at least so far - the loop is set in a high school, and you have a handful of the classic setting archetypes such as the jocks, class clown, and teacher's pet. But while currently nothing to write home about, they aren't one-dimensional, either, and there's plenty of room here for the st - EphemeralDustRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The core part of the story, with the time loop, the classes, the system, etc is very cool and interesting. The execution of them is also well done in many ways.
The issue I have is just the logical inconsistencies with the story. Now part of it is the fact we are learning about the story as the main character does, so their is obviously lots of things we don't know and things the MC is wrong about. That is fine, I can accept and hold off complaints about things that will be explained and revealed later.
The real issue is many of the "mysteries" that are revealed, just don't make sense even within the context of the story. So many things are said to be caused by one thing, then later we find out that isn't true this other thing caused them, but that isn't possible with the way the story works. An example:
At the very start of the story the Coach comes in and yells at the MC. This is loop 0 where everything loops back to. Well later we are informed, well actually the reason Coach went in there is because someone else told him to, and they will stop doing that. So now in the loops that doesn't happen. Except that literally doesn't make sense, why did Coach do that in the very first loop if it only happened in reaction to the loop?
Another example of an issue is (Chapter 19 spoiler):
A new time looper is found, and it turns out it's Alex. This is weird because at the very start of the loop, Alex comes up and says hi to Will. This happens every single time, and within moments of the loop starting. In one instance, Will is kind of dazed out and stares at his hand that was broken last loop, which Alex interrupts and asks about. So unless Will was staring at it for minutes, Alex must be within shouting distance of him at the start.
Except no, Alex is actually across the school in parking lot outside of school grounds prior to the loop. He then runs across to greet Will the exact same way every time, for hundreds of loops. Also lets add in the fact that Alex has time to run
