Throne of Gods is a beautifully imagined isekai-fantasy that strikes a near-perfect balance between immersive worldbuilding, engaging character development, and a gripping narrative. With steampunk aesthetics woven seamlessly into a magical society, this book carves out its own space in the fantasy genre while delivering the familiar emotional core that fans of the genre love.
    Narrative & Style:
The prose is clean, accessible, and flows effortlessly. The author knows exactly when to slow down for introspection and when to pick up the pace with action or worldbuilding. The dialogue feels natural and serves multiple purposes — revealing character, building the world, and keeping the reader engaged.
Despite the complexity of the magical and steampunk elements, the story remains easy to follow, with exposition woven neatly into scenes rather than dumped in blocks. It’s rare to find a story this layered that’s also so readable.
    Atmosphere & Worldbuilding:
Set in a steampunk-inspired world where mana powers invention and political unrest bubbles under the surface, Throne of Gods presents a society that feels lived-in and full of mystery. From magical training chambers and enchanted crystals to secret organizations and city patrols, every detail adds depth without overwhelming the reader.
What’s particularly impressive is how the world unfolds organically. Readers learn alongside the protagonist, Leo, making discoveries feel earned and meaningful.
    Characters:
Leo Mantine, formerly Jacob Brown, is a refreshingly grounded protagonist. Reborn in a world where strength is everything, Leo doesn’t rely on overpowered shortcuts — instead, he uses observation, persistence, and empathy to carve a new path forward. His steady growth, both magically and emotionally, is satisfying to witness.
Supporting characters like Frank, Samuel, and Captain Edmund are far from background props — they each bring something unique to Leo’s journey. The mentor figures feel wise without being one-note

    Story
The beginning of the story hooks you right away. We meet Jacob Brown, later Leo Mantine, going through a rough patch of job searching, which made me empathize with him right away as most of us have been through that experience. While I found the passage between one world and the other to be very abrupt, this becomes less important when in the first chapter we are introduced to a richly detailed fantasy world that makes for an immersive reading experience. I was very amused that the protagonist, although much younger now, found himself in a similar situation to the one he was in, only in this new world he seems to have better luck because both his intelligence and his skills are now considered valuable by the paladins who will introduce him to their society and cause both his life and that of his new family to change quite a bit.
    Style
The writing style is fluid and accessible. The narrative focuses on details that bring each scene to life, from the description of the surroundings to the interactions between characters. In other novels this might cause the reading to become heavy but, while the story can seem slow at times, the author handles both descriptions and explanations of the magic system effectively.
    Grammar
I found no glaring errors. The grammar is solid and accurate. The transitions between scenes are well handled and make it easy for the reader to follow the thread smoothly.
    Characters
Leo Mantine is a well-constructed character. He is very intelligent and observant. I liked him very much from the beginning, especially when he feels responsible for his new family's situation. I found the domestic scenes with his mother and sister very sweet. As for the other characters, it is t

First, the style is well grounded. I see no problem with it. It is paced well. I can follow all of the events without any problem. From the prologue, to the rest, it is solid.
Second, the story is very well written. It deeply immerses the reader into the world which Leo is in. I am for sure is. The three kingdoms, the gods, plots, etc, it offers a lot to look forward to.
Third, grammar is solid. From my point of view, I hardly see any issues. The author did a good job. It is something that only helps.
Fourth, the main character Leo and characters seems very likeable people. Leo's personality is very enduring. I can see his resolve to grow stronger. Also, his drive to do more. The author vividly portrays it. It is job well done.
If you're in for the long haul, this novel will satisfy you. I can tell the author still has much more to show us. Without a doubt, I highly recommend someone to read this novel.
Anyway, you have my support. I will continue to read it. I am wondering how this whole thing will go. Also, how far Leo can go. Kiddos to you, continue to keep up the good work.

I’ve only read the first four chapters, but I’m already hooked! The writing is engaging, and the story is progressing beautifully. The characters feel so real, and I can’t wait to see where the plot takes them. If the rest of the book is as good as what I’ve read so far, it’s going to be an all-time favorite!

I picked upThrone of Godsnot really knowing what to expect, but I was hooked almost immediately. The story follows Jacob Brown, who gets a second chance at life as Leo Mantine in a world where magic and steampunk technology collide. What I really appreciate about this novel is that it doesn’t hand anything to the protagonist—Leo has to work for every bit of progress he makes. There are no easy power-ups or convenient miracles, which makes his journey feel so much more rewarding. The world-building is easily one of the strongest aspects of the story. It’s clear the author has put a ton of thought into how everything fits together. The society, the politics, the hidden factions—it all feels layered and immersive. You get the sense that there’s always more going on beneath the surface, and that makes it exciting to read.Leo himself is a refreshing protagonist. He’s smart, careful, and determined to make the most of his second life. He’s not overpowered, and that’s what makes his growth satisfying. You can see him struggle, fail, and learn from his mistakes, which makes his victories all the more rewarding. The pacing leans toward the slower side, especially early on, but it’s a deliberate slow burn that really pays off if you enjoy deep world-building and strategic character progression. If you’re into intelligent, well-thought-out fantasy with a steampunk twist,Throne of Godsis definitely worth checking out.

Story: Jacob, down on his luck in the job market, reincarnates as Leo after a few beers and has to deal with a whole new world filled with magics, paladins, and bullying. After exploring, dealing with the problems this previous body's soul had, finding out he's in the city of Flesha in a world with currently only 3 kingdoms on initial glance, he is thrust into a very intense situation.
Without spoiling too much, it sets him up for a pretty unique situation by impressing certain folk while at the same time discovering something very unsettling about the body he is currently in.
Grammar: I personally didn't have a problem with any of it. I read it, and it flowed well in my mind.
Style: It balances lore-building and character development well. After enough events, or dialog, it might sprinkle in fresh lore. Then it builds on it. By the fourth chapter there isn't too much or too little, leaving you in a place where you want to learn more.
Character: Jacob, or Leo, was facing massive challenges both in his old and similar issues in his new life. Rather than sitting there, however, wallowing in despair of his situation he's proactive. He explores, tries to change, grows during his first major and dangerous encounter as an individual. Even his relationship with his family, which suffered in his previous life, he is working to improve it looks like.
Overall: A great steampunk/magical world with a character you want to follow to explore this new world. It combines amazing layers of lore to create an understandable and believable first threat. Anyone who wants to discover a brand new world with both wonders and horrors, with new threats and a protagonist that is proactive, will enjoy this story.

Throne of Gods is an isekai-fantasy adventure set in a richly imagined steampunk world where danger hides behind every leap of progress. The story sinks its hooks into you with a compelling protagonist, high-stakes mystery, and a world brimming with intrigue and innovation. We follow Jacob Brown, a man crushed by failure in his previous life, who gets a second shot as Leo Mantine, a 14-year-old boy in a world where magic fuels machinery. Leo’s journey is grounded, and full of tension. He’s driven to make something more of his new life. The pacing is tight and every chapter pushes the plot forward. The writing strikes a great balance between dialogue, and action. It handles shifts in tone with real skill, making for a believable narrative flow. The worldbuilding is excellent. Instead of dumping lore, it’s woven into the narrative, letting readers explore the setting organically. The steampunk aesthetic is well executed and enhances the feeling of a world teetering on the edge.Leo is a standout protagonist. His emotional depth and quiet determination make him likeable. He’s not overpowered or reckless, which makes his growth all the more satisfying. The supporting cast is also strong, each character distinct, with memorable personalities and believable motivations. Rosie and Leo’s new mother bring warmth, while figures like Liamond and Edmond add complexity and world-weary charm. The writing is clean and readable. There are minor typos or occasional clunky sentences, but they’re few and far between.Highly recommended for fans of Lord of the Mysteries by Cuttlefish That Loves Diving. I enjoyed the story until the latest chapter I read. The Mc telling someone he was from another world ruins things for me. There are certain things you should never reveal, such as. Having knowledge of the future, or revealing you are not the original host of the body you are in. It is such an annoying trope that happens far to often.

A captivating novel with a well-paced plot and immersive world-building that keeps readers hooked. While the story delivers on intrigue and excitement, a bit more balance in character development and abilities could enhance the overall experience. Despite this, it’s a thoroughly enjoyable read with plenty to recommend.
looking forward to see how it goes.
