Description

**BOOK 1 COMPLETE** His family was his world. Now he’s in a new one. When a fatal accident rips Caleb Foster from his wife and kids, the forty-year-old gets a second chance in a realm of dungeons and monsters. A cosmic system offers him a choice of legendary powers, but Caleb refuses the flashy magic. He chooses the abilities to learn faster, remember perfectly, and master any physical skill. A father's instinct to protect doesn't die with his family. To survive and shield the new lives that depend on him, he must use a lifetime of quiet competence to navigate a dangerous frontier town, hunt deadly beasts, and outwit men who mistake his lack of flash for weakness. In a place where might makes right, Caleb is about to show that the most lethal weapon is a mind that misses nothing, and a will that never quits. *** What You Can Expect-Mature, Rational Protagonist (Single POV)-Slow-Burn, Emotional, Character-Driven, Slice of Life, Found Family-Logical LitRPG System and Earned Power (not too crunchy)-Gritty and Unforgiving World (Nobledark) What You Should Not Expect-No Harem / Romance / Smut-No Instant Overpowered MC-No Perfect MC (he'll make mistakes even though he's an adult) Release Schedule-3x week M/W/F @ 07:30 EDT-Patreonhas10121416182022 Early Access chapters Please come hop intoDiscordand say hi! Definitely among the top novels out there from my PoV. Vocabulary is quite vast, characters (at least from my perspective) seem pretty unrealistic so far but that might also just be a life experience difference. I dont think there are many novels out there like this. Style seems fairly fleshed out and the plot progression feels very intentional. Its slow but you do feel the buildup and each chapter feels like a good step further in the plot instead of being like a fourth junk, a fourth progression and the last half being the cliffhanger at the end. Definitely recommend, among my top 5 if not top 3 novels here on RR

Loving it so much so far!
The Style: The system and stats layout is really quite nice compared to a few other stories I've read. The writing style is engaging, descriptive, and honestly, just hooked me from the start with many of its small details that jump out from time to time. Just the right amount of dark elements, comedy, and subtle references.
The Story: It doesn't feel too fast or slow paced, just a nice balanced pace with solid step-by-step progress. Scratches my ADHD "follow the bullet-point quest list" brain in a good way kinda deal. Solid workbuilding too with some very nice and unique features.
The Character: MC is relatable, realistic, and makes common sense choices I feel. Aspects and feelings such as grief, anger, indignation, hope, etc, all shine through well and breathe some solid life into him. Side characters are also described well and their own unique personalities shine through.
The Grammer: Haven't spotted any errors so far. Very well written.
Overall: This story feels very balanced. It has good characters. The worldbuilding is nice. I'm just loving it and I wish there was a few thousand more pages that I could binge read right now haha.

The story begins with a classic reincarnation, in this case with an older protagonist. He was a happy family man, which may be a bit of a contrast in comparison to the average isekai protagonist. The world in which he reincarnates is decently realistic in it's coldness. People have to get by, but friends are still friends. It is a pretty classic fantasy setting with an adventures guild, alchemists, etc.The characters are fine, but can feel a bit shallow at points. Most other characters have an agenda which does wonders for this story's believability. The protagonist starts out a bit whiny at the start (as he should), but moves into a more constructive mindset pretty fast. The grammar is perfect. I didn't notice any major mistakes. The only thing I dislike is the occasional flowery language, if that makes any sense. It can make a scene feel more alive/beautiful, but in excess it just gives off the vibe of an eighth grader trying to fill a word count. Not saying that this novel is an example of it, though it can be a bit of a slippery slope. The power system is simple in a way that allows for a lot of development. The status screens have potential to grow into spreadsheets if they aren't contained. The protagonist has lots of room to grow, but doesn't start out as op.

An enjoying read! The story is about a man who’s been isekaied to another world, starting at the “F” tier. The protagonist main advantage is that he learnsfast. This series has been an easy read from a new Author whom is constantly seeking to improve their work, and I’m really looking forward to future releases! My only complaint is that there aren’t 3 more books for me to binge!

I think this story is well written. The characters are competently portrayed, the setting feels lived in, and story has a clear direction with good pacing.
    STYLE
The prose is descriptive and does a good job of immersing you in scenes and experiences. I wouldn't call It purple, but it's fairly poetic and would likely grate on anyone who prefers a more economical and invisible style. I personally didn't mind, but you'll know if you can handle it after the first few chapters.
    STORY
I was very satisfied with the pacing: Short arcs that convincingly led into each other, rising in intensity. Superbly done.
As far as isekais go, I think this is very solid entry. The world is being revealed in relevant layers, and the author is doing a great job in tying the MC to the setting, so that we care about what decisions he makes in it.
I'd hardly call this a slowburn, but there is a wonderful balance of high intensity moments and gentler, ponderous scenes that build up towards important plot points.
The protagonist's power-set is very interesting and it hooked me from the beginning. The author is doing an excellent job of delivering on the promises attached to it. That's usually difficult to pull off, so I'm rather pleased.
I particularly enjoyed learning about the magic system and seeing the author's spin on a LitRPG system. It feels to me like a lot of thought was put into these, and I really appreciate that.
Not sure where to put this under, but the author, as seen in the comments and postscripts, is highly receptive to constructive feedback, which I think takes a lot of courage and self-awareness. He makes routine revisions and engages with reader concerns in good faith.
    GRAMMAR
Nothing that soured my reading experience, so I'd say it was quite alright.
    CHARACTER
One of the stories strongest points, in my opinion. Caleb comes across as believable. I feel I have a clear idea of his values, mindset, and personality, and it's interesting seeing the ways that his new experiences a

I found this story as an ad on another story and left it in a new tab for consumption.  Little did I know that the only thing being consumed would be my sleeping time.Binged 80ish chapters in two days, and impressed by the prose itself.  Usually, I'm not much of a stickler for the words themselves, seeing them as a means to an end for telling the story.  This story, however, has made me stop reading and put on my critical glasses for a reread or five of a well turned phrase or a beautifully laid prose segment.  You can tell the author spends time not only writing but editing their work to get the best version out.All of that would be pointless if the story wasn't good ...and it's very good. Layers are laid atop another, peeling back as needed and then multiplying when crossing.  Interactions between characters are more than just angry NPC interacts with mcguffin to create conflict level 1 for mid boss resolve.  The characters have their own back stories, their own lanes in which they live, and their personalities are resultant from the pressures that they have faced.Long story short, read the crumbing story! It is well crafted story telling with a great pace.  Slow burn enough to be connected to the struggle for the next skill, fast enough that I didnt get bored anywhere along the way.

This is a great story!  The pacing is very smooth, and the power arc for character growth feels logical and smooth as well.  Each chapter feels like a little mini arc that ends with the story progression at a point full of potential for the next chapter!  Cliffs, when they happen, don’t feel like only a “deus ex machina”  will save the MC.  Very satisfying writing!  I know the author posts a few times a week, but I STILL check updates every day!  Where will the story go?  A very fun read!!  :)

Build a new life that will never be as good as the one I lost. Is this it?
    That line made me pause.
Put aside the great descriptions, the host of characters and the World Soul's consistent rewards - and have a think.
Our protagonist Caleb (Thal) suffers his transmigration, endures his loss, and is immediately presented with a litany of tantalising, world-shattering powers.
But forget elemental fusion, mythic regeneration and time dilation for a moment, as for once, we have a rational man.
Every action we see reflects the depths of his life as a father. His endearing memories, his choices and his reasoning all stem from the core of this.
But what I find most compelling is if, in this world where the cards are so clearly stacked against him, will these values hold?
When intolerance, violence, bullies and magic seek to grind him down, will he remain the doting, protective father he was?
Already we see him bury his head and begin to eke out a life for himself, but will the quasi-normality of routine and safety drag him under?
Either way, as a father myself, I'm here for Caleb. And I can't wait to find out.

I love the story! There’s a lot of emotion that is portrayed across the MC’s feelings. For now, it is a solid 5 for me. The grammar is perfect and the author’s intent is generally delivered across the reader. I have one suggestion though. To give dimension to characters and give them more depth, why not give a different POV for characters such as Corrine or Cassia, or even Rufan to understand their backstory. You don’t need to give a POV or backstory for every character, just the most important ones. You don’t even need to do it frequently and you have to balance it otherwise it may also ruin the story.
However, different POVs can improve character depth and give another worldview which is useful for world building.

Very happy with the introduction - skill choices are reasonable, although I'm a little surprised there wasn't an aspect of "I might be able to go home" mentioned consideration wise. Mixed feelings on perfect memory (its not entirely a positive), but its not an unreasonable decision by any means.
The rapid-fire pace of the introductory portion is effective - perfect memory != unlimited processing power, so the confusion + motor control issues are fine.
Has significant potential, looking forward to seeing where it goes.
