Description
Death has always fascinated the human mind. What happens after that inner spark disappears? Where does it go? For Erin, she went to the world of Pokemon, one of her favorites. Great! It also gave her a new body with the correct gender this time! Wonderful! Being a kid again? Not so great… Neither was waking up naked in the Lowlands of the Galarian Crown Tundra! The found family of Pokemon she encountered there were pretty cool, though. There's only one issue… She didn't choose any of that, even if she couldn’t be happier with the results. Choices matter. It’s unfortunate when you don't get many. - Updates Mondays with occasional extras- Multiple MC’s.- Slow-paced Drama-SoL Journey fiction with high peaks and low valleys. Very battle-lite.- There is alotof trauma to deal with, thus the 'low valleys' part. You have been warned.- No cartoon physics and consequences in battle or due to Moves. Battles are few and far between, and not only more brutal, but over faster. Nobody wants to kill their opponents Pokemon.- No explicitly detailed descriptions of gore, but this isn't an idyllic world where carnivores only eat Berries. People occasionally die 'on-screen', but it is not the focus. Wonderful cover art done by a friend.

- BelleFrogueRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Hey, I love this story. I've read several "dark"/"realistic" Pokemon stories at this point, and this one really hits a nice balance in many ways for me without drowning the reader in a sort of "the Pokemon world is actually baaaaaaaad".
Beyond the Pokemon content of the story, I deeply resonate with a lot of the things Erin and Alex have dealt with as a trans woman myself, and it's always wonderful to see good rep in a genuinely enjoyable story. Wildly enough, if I had a penny for every Pokemon fic about a trans woman isekai-ing into their true body, I'd have two pennies at this point lol.
Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see where the story goes! - QazicusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0really good pokemon fic, well paced, feels like it gets into some interesting dynamics of being in a pokemon world + trauma and shit outside of just interacting with the pokemon. also fuck yes for trans representation. very much excited to read more. good writing, good grammar, as far as I can tell at least, I enjoy the characters a lot. sometimes the quotes and bolding and italics get a little confusing re who is talking in whose mind and whatnot but not a big deal
- RJ the wolfRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is not for the faint of heart. There is darkness, violence, and emotional trauma, but at is heart this is a story about redemption and second chances. I love it. There are a few darker takes on Pokemon on this site but I think this is one of the best.
- SaltzillaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Love the story, well written, brutal, ruthless.
I absolutely love how the Pokemon are more in line with their 'types' other than just moves and weaknesses, the whole Fae thing is very fun to read.
Definitely one of the best Pokemon SI's I've read, the first like 15 chapters? Without question, the absolute best set up. - Seph01Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I went into this one with low expectations and was pleasantly blown away.
It's a wild ride where the author is indulgent with their fantasy and I love it.
I've heard afew people mention the pace being to fast or that it's abit to unbelievable but that's what I like about it.
I've read multiple pokemon fan series where they take a very long time to get a team together but this one comes in guns blazing and that refreshing.
Turn your mind off and just enjoy the experience and you will have a great time with this novel. - YusidoraRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a pretty good story. I don't usually like multiple PoVs but this one is actually not that different from a single one, since the PoVs are usually from the same scene or relating to the same scene - not me reading a second character doing something barely related to the MC in a different location.
I had to learn to like the multiple PoVs kinda genre, but the characters are well made. The story has some divergencies from the original Pokémon lore, but they both enrich it and differentiates this fic from the many others in a good way.
The Pokémons the characters befriend are also different from the usual Lucario, Zoroark, Gardevoir, or whatever other edgy main character syndrome pokémon I see around a lot of the time, so... yeah...
Erin should drink lots of moo moo milk, I heard it helps young ones to grow.
I wish the rescues' population of the ranch can be managed by the author in a way we can see more Team Rocket / criminals in general scenes, since this is IMO the main reason why we don't see more of the 'cleaning operations' right now. - MisterpokerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love this story so much. I’m happy to admit that I have a soft spot for well-written Pokémon SI, but I enjoyed reading this, and would happily add it to my recommendation list alongside PTV, Hard Enough, and The Most Evil Trainer. Nothings perfect, but I’d happily give this story a 9/10 or 10/10.
- TruebiscuitwolfRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Lets start with the Bad and work our way upwards
Its an SI and you do notice. What I mean by that is for example the Pokemon Team. Its great dont get me wrong but unrealistic to get. Seconds the Mc as previously said its an SI and you notice it in parts of the Story
Now the Good
I LOVE the start. I went in with 0 expectations and was NOT ready that start. Between the Titel of the fic and the description i schould have tought about it but this Fic did not hold its punches and that is such a breath of fresh air. It is to describe it brutal and I love it.
The Charakters. As of Chapter 18 I was not expecting this cast and development but i like where its going. Both the MC and the travel companion have noticable Trauma( which honestly fair with the events that happend to both) but it is done very nice. Now the main thing i love about the Fic is that even if unrealistic things happen like the Team comp it is honestly tought out and doesnt break emersion. To add to that the World is dark but like in a nice way. I have lots more to say about the fic but ill let it stop with that.
With all that said id recommend to give this fic a try. It def. Surprised me and in a good way.
Excuse any grammatik errors as i was fighting a german Keyboard and it to didnt hold its punches - BrendobearRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I have really enjoyed the story so far and can’t wait to see what Erin and co. will get up to next. It’s been really cool to see how author Erin has improved their writing and been able to show us their philosophy in life along the way. There were some frustrating moments for me in how characters interacted and I’m not sure if that’s because of cultural differences or just differing views on family/friendship but I’ve liked being able to introspect on why it was that way for me so thank you for “pushing the envelope” in my opinion.
- Everyman McBeigeRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Style:
First person almost exclusively from a number of perspectives, though the TheCoolerErin does do a decent job separating PoVs to reduce the confusion of who exactly is thinking or talking at the moment. The issue that comes from this selection of PoVs is that we seem to only get new ones, or even introduced to new characters, when the main character, Erin, needs to be fawned over. Another thing that does begin to grate is the incessant use of italics to emphasize words. When almost every single paragraph has multiple emphasized words it begins to lose meaning, especially over 43 decently long chapters. A potential issue, depending on individual taste, is the way in which most characters speak, most characters tend to monologue. Conversations are closer to people lecturing one another in paragraph long statements. On the positive side the chapter length is great, and formatting the PoVs is clean, there's zero issue understanding who is talking. While this part of the review may sound overly negative the style is average, unnecessary other PoVs and word emphasis aside.
Grammar:
Solid all the way around, what issues are noticed by readers author Erin addresses. If there are grammatical issues they weren't prevalent enough to notice.
Story:
There's nothing in here story wise that hasn't been done by other authors, though that in and of itself isn't why I gave the story a two. I will spoiler all of these but keep in mind this all happens in a world that is supposed to be without "cartoon physics" and a world with "consequences." Some of these would be fine even expected, but all of them together? Not so much
Reincarnated, left stranded in the wilderness, gender flopped (even if the SI wants it this time around), age reduced (and the main character's mental age deteriorating as well), Super Special and Unique Aura Powers ™, being able to best strong Pokémon in hand to hand combat with zero training, Pseudo-legendries on the team before chapter five (even if not "of
