Description

Children die all the time but not as many as in Hunter Valley.

Every three years, the elite hunters of the world gather their thirteen-year-old children and send them to the Hunter Academy in the valley—a place teeming with monsters to challenge and grow the young hunters.

Before admittance, the children are assessed and ranked. Should their potential be judged too low, they are rejected. Simple.

But rejects don’t get to leave.

The hunter clans and guilds have accepted an unspoken rule: those who are sent to the valley, stay in the valley. Accepted or rejected. Dead or alive. There is only one way out:

Graduation.

When Djina is judged Rankless, a verdict never before assigned, she fears for her life. Is she too weak, or perhaps too strong to be judged?

Can she survive the valley? Especially, when she receives a token of acceptance—a mark that the rejects can steal to claim her place in the academy? When it is revealed that older, more powerful students from previous years linger in the valley, and are willing to doanythingto graduate?

What to expect:Weak to strong progression.Character driven story. Cool abilities and power progression.Formidable villains and training arcs.

Trope Warning:The cultivation parts of this novel are reminiscent of xianxia, but it doesn't pick up until around chapter 20 of the novel, when Djina starts levelling her hunter's core. If you're here for that, consider yourself warned. Let the journey be long, the road hard, and the rewards legendary.

Trigger Warning:Gore and death. The beginning of the story deals with children in a martial academy. They will be fighting monsters amongst other things. Please do not read if you don’t want to watch them suffer and/or die. It will not be glorified. But it will happen.

Style/Story: The style of the story is evident, as the story contains some of the common Litrpg elements within the chapters. To me, they were well written and did not distract me as I was reading the story. As certain things are described throughout the chapters there is some imagery to go along with those descriptions. Which to me, is a nice touch as it helps the reader visualize the scene more. The sentences and dialogue overall flows pretty well. Scenes are described well and the chapter length is great.
So far, the fight scenes and characters overall seem very interesting and captivating. Nicely done so far!
Grammar:  The grammar to me, overall is pretty good. My only negative is some of the quotation marks that are used. You can tell that they are conversations so that isn’t a problem but it confused me a bit with the different marks used.
Characters: The characters that are introduced to us first seem well written and well developed. Each character appears to have unique stats and abilities as they are sorted and placed into their ranks. Both May and Djina seem to be the two main characters in the story so far; with Djina being the main lead. Both have unique sets of skills that will be interesting to see them develop. I personally didn’t connect strongly to the characters yet, but I did find them interesting in general!
In Summary: Overall, the story contains a good amount of detail which helps in visualizing the scenes that are being read. The addition to the images being placed in the story was a nice touch as it helped further visualize the story. Nicely done overall!

    This is a great story.
Style: I like this story's style a lot. It has literary devices, in particular a lot of imagery that helps with the story's tone and set various scenes within the story. The author has incredibly good word choice and is able to set the tone very well with it. The author's way of writing is also unique. And I can safely say that the tone fits the story perfectly. The author also includes images in the various chapters that help set the story's tone and depict events and locations in it.
Story: The story is great. it is paced at just the right pace. It develops at the right pace too. The story itself is about a monster hunter. She is basically at a place where monster hunters train to be monster hunters, albeit an incredibly dangerous place for this, and must navigate her way through it. This premise is handled very well, and I especially like the battle scenes in the story. So, no complaints.
Grammar: I couldn't find any grammatical errors. That does not mean they don't exist, but if they do, they are most likely not distracting enough for most people to notice them.
Character: The characters are really good. Most of them are not all that relevant to the story but those that are fit Royal Road's criteria incredibly well. They are well-depicted, realistic, and three-dimensional. The main character is likeable enough that you can root for her and the side characters are interesting too.
Overall, I highly recommend this story.

This story has a lot of good things going for it. The story follows Djina, a girl who is determined to be rankless by the sorting system. This means that she doesn’t fit neatly into the system and can’t be graded properly. By the end of chapter 15, it has not been revealed why yet.
Story: The story has a good flow to it. It didn’t feel too fast or slow, and unlike some stories on RR, it does feel like it knows where it’s going. Chapter 15 feels like the end of the first arc, and it hints at a lot of new plot points.
Character: This story is not about a hero that always does the right thing, sometimes I didn’t agree with the protagonist. There is one part where the MC seemed more brutal than she needed to be. You’ll know it when you see it. If you’re a fan of MCs that do whatever it takes to get ahead, you’ll love her.
She has a companion that she forms a kind of partnership with. Her name is May, and I thought her dynamic with the MC was interesting. There’s a lot of tension because they aren’t quite friends, but they aren’t quite enemies either. Perhaps this will change later.
Style: Style is fairly standard. Nothing fancy, but no glaring mistakes. It’s definitely an easy read.
Grammar: I noticed very few grammar errors, mostly just typos. They were minor and didn’t get in the way of reading the story.
