- ParaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0As a huge fan of the house witch it's simply a must read. There aren't many sequels/story series on this page and this story is already interesting enough in its own right.
If you haven't read the house witch I strongly reccomend reading it. I am not sure yet if it's actually needed or if this story will explain the necessary details, but the prequel is a fantastic, wholesome, adventurous story you should not miss.
If you've read the house witch, let me tell you what awaits: jumping ahead some years, adding grown up and new characters and some plot that happenes in the time skip that we don't know about yet (but we have hints!). We even have a new protoganist who we've only known as baby Alina. And she has a strong character and problems of her own. To be a princess can be a pain in the ass it seems.
The other characters are well written as well, easy to imagine and fleshed out. I especially look forward to seeing how the characters I already know have evolved, but the new ones seem very interesting as well.
Style and grammar are great, no complaints.
I have only read up till chapter 3 so I can't say a lot about the story yet. It seems promising at least, looking forward to more. There are already multiple plot points, but I have no idea where it's leading.
Last point: I want to add the imaginary category "author note" and give it 50 stars. Seriously, if you've had a bad day or are feeling a bit down, just read any of them and feel warm and fuzzy inside. - BrokenSin69Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0A sequel to one of the best stories on royal road. It brings me joy to know that I can see more of the world and its colorful characters, especially with how well written they are. I'm looking forward to how the story progresses, and with a baited breath I look forward to seeing how certain characters have changed
- GridinadRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A fantasticly good story with excellent comedy. Not as much drama as House Witch but an excellent read!
I found the call backs to House Witch funny but I can see how they make it required reading before this story. However that is only thing I can find to detract from it. - Jmull716Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great story, well written, funny, entertaining, definitely read it! Love this author every story I read of their's is fantastic. And the uplifting comments they write at the end of each chapter will help anyone have a bad day. Cant wait for the sequel I'll definitely be looking for it every day!
- Kevin MillerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a great continuation of the house witch, and I am really glad it exists.
I am always waiting to hear what Kraken (the cat in the story) has been getting up to. He is my favorite character, and I believe many others favorite as well. He is told so wonderfully, it's as if I have known this cat his whole life.
It also really captures what a cat can truly be like.
The magic system is also quite unique. A real difference in a good way from just a generic system magic. More of a traditional fae magic, or witch magic from when it was more imagination instead of hard science.
The author really knows how to make the most of any situation, and there is usually a fair bit of wholesome comedy that is sprinkled throughout the whole story.
It's very nice to have an actual sequel (and end) to a story instead of just endless chapters that make people slowly lose interest.
The growth of the characters from the previous story is apparent and well developed. Although it is hard to get into any in depth review because it would be spoiling the house witch
Suffice it to say, I have really enjoyed my reading of both of these stories, and am always looking for the next chapter to come out. - Manini BharuchaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This was a great bonus after the House Witch trilogy. This book managed to make me avoid a book hangover. The new characters have been written just as endearingly as all the old ones in The House Witch. I love the story telling, it is fast paced and with wonderful quirky dialogues and plot twists. In fact, this entire world, created by the author, is distinct and rich. It is now amongst my all time favourite book series. Thank you, Delemhach, for writing this wonderful series. I haven't laughed this hard while reading a book in a very long time. The entire series leaves you in stitches. I can not wait for this story to be published, so that I may add it to my shelf along with the other books of The House Witch. Alina and Brendan's story is sweet. And added mix of all the quirky characters makes it for a laugh.
P. S. - I started reading the Burning Witch and it's turning out to be just as exciting as her father's story. The mystery around Eric and his absence has been written very well and the slow understanding developing between Eric and Kat is too wonderful and tickles the romantic in me. - AlinaViktoriaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Just finished the third House Witch Book and am so glad to find more stories that continue in this universe (which I came to love oh so fast).
Looking forward to reading the hell oit of this story (and 10/10 for this beautiful Character name)!
I'm already falling in love with all of these amazing new Characters and I'm so happy to here more from my beloved "old" ones. - Mumbles HatRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5An amazing sequel following the characters introduced in The House Witch, and thier children. The author once again delivers what should become an instant classic. A thoroughly engaging story; from personal character growth to international politics with a unique system of magic in an intriguing and well developed world. So glad they decided to write another story in this one of a kind world they created.
Hooked from the first chapter, I can't wait to see where this story takes the characters introduced in The House Witch as well as the new characters that we have just met.
While this is a standalone story make sure to read The House Witch first. I don't think that it's absolutely necessary but it will really help you follow along with things.
I am afraid if I continue an in-depth review that I will give away plot points; So now I am just trying to hit the minimum two-hundred words for an advanced review.
