  Masterfully crafted story. The world is alive and the city where the narrative takes place feels like it's being cooked over a warm but constant fire.
  Schemes abound in a world where one needs to look closely to see things as they are.
  To tie everything together is a strong and distinct character voice in Jawad - crafty but human, he feels very much real and immersive.

  Without spoiling much! Jawad is a thief, burglar, pickpocket. Your average everyday criminal with skills. He was caught and imprisoned in one of the worst prisons in the city.
  He gets offered a deal. Either he helps find the notorious thief, The Prince of Cats, or end his days under the creative hands of his torturers.

  the story is set in a medieval fertile crescent arabian theme. A new and refreshing, and surprisingly accurate outtake on the historical equivalent. The story comes to life with the descriptions and there are no wasted words.

  A story worth every second you spend reading it, the intrigue of the story alone is enough to real you in. Who is the prince of cats? how will jawad find him? And many more questions. I literally cannot think of words to give the praise that this story deserves. I hesitate to call it a hidden gem, but if I had to pick such a story, it is this.

  The characters show a range of emotions and personality rarely seen on works that are as hidden as this. From the random thugs, to the crazy scientists, every character is beaming with life and intrigue, and they all play a part in this amazing machine.

  This is a well thought out and well written story. if you enjoy getting lost in a story this is the story to do it in. Granted it this not the usally type of story one expects on this site but if you take a few hours to read this you will know the time was not wasted.

  I loved and still love this story it's the type of story you want someone to make an anime of and I still want someone to make an anime of it or at lest an animation or something please like Jawad is one if not the only character I can(in some ways)truly sympathize with.

  Quill's mastery shows again. Absolutely brilliant storytelling. His writing flows like warm butter and the "pages" turn themselves.
  Interesting and deep characters, a plot that keeps you on your toes and a style that soothes your soul after reading so many trashy stories. I'm not a man of impeccable grammar, but even under torture, I wouldn't find more than a handful of faults.
  It's a great read and I give it my highest recommendation. It's sad to see it remain in the shadows of RR.

  Truly an amazing piece of work. I really hope a continuation may yet come to pass, but if not This story is already a truly amazing single volume that does not need more, although I think it could benefit from a little more :-).
  The story is well written an suspensefull, the ending was not unexpected but that is the sign of a well written piece of literature, putting just enough information in the story that you can piece the ending together. A perfect balance between suspense and expectation.

  Glad I found this brilliant gem of a story.
  Jawad, the protoganist easily steals the show from start to finish. He is a well crafted character with clearly defined strengths and weaknesses. Cheerful and seemingly fickle at times, wry and brooding at others, you feel for him when he falls and root for him to succeed against the odds... and yet the author keeps you thinking... about the whole endgame.
  The style in itself is perfect. The author weaves a bewitching world that reminds you of Arabian nights. Poignant, exotic and captivating...
  Do give it a try. Jawad definitely needs more love.

  Excellent writing from Quill once more. It's a self-contained story and works just fine as a standalone from the Eagle's Flight, but it also gives even more shades to the already colorful world even so.
  The characters are well written, if not quite as developed as TEF characters. Considering however that this is the length of a standard novel the characters are leagues above what you could find in most books.
  If the nature of TEF is a bit daunting this is an excellent story to read to get a feel for Quill's writing in a more standard format and length. PoC only has one viewpoint character and only the standard quantity of supporting characters that you could find in any published novel.
  The story and style themselves make Quill's mastery easily apparent. You will find yourself easily grasping where the story is going, yet still at the edge of your seat to find out how exactly it gets there and what Jawad will have to go through to achieve his goals. With poems that liven the world up interspersed both at the end of chapters and within dialogue you will also be awed at the ability to write in several different styles.
  Finally as for Grammar, it is not really even worth mentioning, there are perhaps one or two dozen errors in the entire book, most of which are just minor excess words or the like which have already been fixed with the help of comments.

  I might just be an overcritical reader, but I must object to the apparent consensus amongst reviews that The Prince of Cats is a masterpiece.
  Don't get me wrong, this is a competently written and very entertaining story. But to me a masterpiece should be a masterpiece, and The Prince of Cats is simply not sufficiently remarkable a tale to have earned such high praise.
  And I don’t write that solely out of pedantry, but also out of a desire to point out that while The Prince of Cats is not a masterpiece it is a good story, a good book even, which may be even better.
  I at least often come to royal road and similar sites not in search of masterpieces, for that there are much better alternatives, but in search of good books; of works that are overall light and don’t demand too much of me and yet are still sufficiently enthralling and enjoyable to be relaxing. And The Prince of Cats is one of the goodest books I’ve recently read.
  Which is all to say that if you want to read a masterpiece check out Dostoevsky’s or a similarly famous master’s works, but if you simply want a good book instead definitely give The Prince of Cats a chance, you’ll probably like it.

  Some sentences were a bit run-on but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it
  I love Jawad's character and how he's always planning out potential heists, and that he never takes things seriously unless he's thoroughly threatened
