This little gem is done in the tradition of  fantasy bookshelf classics: think Pern (if you ignore the science parts, of course), Temeraire, Liveship Traders/Farseer. So much effort and attention has been spent on prose, and it shows. While webnovel audiences will appreciate the fast, fun, action-packed scene-to-scene flow, traditional readers have something to enjoy in the sheer care the author demonstrates for everything from worldbuilding and characters to prose itself.
The relationship between our two leads is both complicated and satisfying (at least, it’s teeing up to be that way at the time of writing this). Aisling is the more femme of the two but no less confident and powerful; her sass flies off the page, and she’s got leverage over Grey in the form of wealth and charm alike. For her part, Grey is a wonderful wedding of pirate archetype and tough butch: I’m reminded of Vi (Arcane) for her quiet, surefooted manner of leadership.
Excited to see where it goes from here - especially our mystery POV from the opening!

Em wastes zero time dropping us into her lush new world, pulling us from her space fiction Hopper, straight into the crystal-clear waters of the Myriad. The pacing feels confident right away. Grey is already shaping up to be a strong, compelling MC, and I’m very curious what kind of chaos is going to follow in her wake. I am seated!

Extremely well crafted, and you'd be doing yourself a disservice skipping it. This story makes me want to savor each chapter - not least because Em is damn good at reveals in negative space. You'll get a reveal, and then go thinking back to all the little things that didn't add up, and it's really fun.
Pacing's great and so are each of the characters, though my favorite is probably Lotti! I'm excited to read more.

Another awesome story cooked up by our lovely author. I really love the attention to detail and how meaningful every interaction feels, even while early in the story I can't wait to see how this one goes. Never complaining about more badass women kicking butt.
Seems I don't have enough words did you know snakes "smell" the air when they flick their tongue? They have 2 hidden olfactory holes in their mouths to put their tongues in after flicking it and to process what they "smelled" in the air.
