Description

A Neverprince. The distinguished title of the now-defunct nobility. One whose roots can be traced back to the Golden Age of the first Empyrean. It is a lofty title that anyone would've been proud to accept, but not Reial. It only left him feeling disconnected from reality. His family, Yushiloc’s burgeoning peace, the greatness of his name… It should have meant something, yet they were all meaningless to him.Instead, he was left with her screams, that night, and theblood. A haunting of his own making. Despite being a Veil Strider, a being blessed by God, he cannot ignore his past failures. And he has to live with that.Overcome with guilt, Reial sets off into the night, hoping that his withering shadow will die once and for all.But like a Nether Dweller, it lingers. Waiting for the proper moment to strike. Its voice a reminder of the past. Can he escape their chilling grasp?

This story has:-A scarred protagonist learning to be more than the "blessing" he was assigned with.-An OP from the start Protagonist (that progresses in power as he encounters greater challengers).-An adventure of self-discovery. While there is a set goal of where the protagonists want to go, it is focused on their personal journies.

I've only just started reading it, so I wont be giving an advanced review but on the whole, the story is setting things up nicely and getting my interest.
Its well written, though there are a couple formatting issues that seem to stem from moving from a word document or something to the RR text editor, but that seems to only happen a couple of times and the author seems to be getting used to posting here.
Overall, Grammar is very good, and based on the way this is written, I'd estimate that there is a LOT of world building done in the background, that they're preparing to slowly feed us over what seems to be a character driven story.
I have high hopes for this story, will report back as I get deeper into it.

Reial is a very depressed young man. A casual glance at his questioning and concern, of worrying and feeling like he is stuck in a rut, reveals that. I found him (and Charette) as really well done examples of how suffering and long-term unaddressed trauma can affect relationships. Both of the siblings remain silent with each other and pretend that things are fine as a coping defense. They want to live in the past, when things were better, and they are mentally frozen in place.
This story uses more slice of life and exploration to explore the world and characters, developing them in time with the character scenes. This allows for more introspection and character development (regression and progression).
I enjoyed the little hints of the magic system so far, and it makes me eager to see more. There are so many possibilities with this, and the world.
Aside from some inaccurate words or rare incomplete sentences/thoughts, things looked clean grammar wise.
I greatly enjoy the slow expansion of the story and scope and the characters are delightful.
I recommend this story for anyone who loves more character driven stories. It is more lighter on the Progression Fantasy elements, leaning toward the growth/change in characters, relationships/friendships, and their mental health (regression and progression).
