Description

I was a game designer. Now I'm a Witch. Witches are not what you think. They don't cast spells by candlelight and pray to the moon. They audit gods. They harvest planets for fuel. They settle academic disputes at gunpoint, and the loser writes her rebuttal from the afterlife. Their idea of mercy is turning your civilization into a battery instead of fertilizer. I love it here. The problem is, I'm the only one who showed up to this civilization with a corporate mindset. Everyone else is an immortal, overpowered genius who treats reality like a personal sandbox. They don't need structure. They don't need documentation. They've been running on pure arrogance and brute-force intelligence for two thousand years and it works. I am trying, very politely, to bring version control to a species that considers chaos a design philosophy. They think I'm a prodigy. They think I'm calculating. I'm just the one person in the room who reads the manual first. But here's the thing about these arrogant, violent, impossible women —if I ever fall, they will burn a galaxy to bring me home. And for the first time in two lifetimes, that means something. [ LitRPG | Magic Academy | Transmigration | Female Lead | No Harem ] 📖 Arc 1 Complete at Ch. 60 · 📈 1M+ Words in Draft · Daily Updates

I really enjoyed this story’s tone. The best way I can describe it is epic-slice-of-life.
New Hathaway (a game designer from Earth) is reincarnated into a Witch world,           via displacing/switching with old Hathaway,           and in the process her power level increases to nigh arch-witch proportions, making a somewhat disappointing, though loved, member of a prominent family into potentially it’s most powerful member.
The world itself is amazing with all sorts of imagery like Griffon-pulled carriages and entire cities made of Dragon bones. The humor of the story (which it has in vast amounts and good quality) comes from the casualness with which the MC’s family treats all this. They are used to being able to fly and dining on dragon meat; Hathaway is not.
To me, good banter is a must, and the conversations between Hathaway, Rhode (her sister), and Lin (the greatest dueling witch in the world) do not disappoint. It reminded me of a school clique movie, like Mean Girls, or Heathers (if you remember that one). Here it’s just as feisty, but it’s good-natured, the characters are looking out for each other.
I get the feeling this is a universe that Broken_Bulb has spent a lot of time just imagining. Something that’s real and alive in her head. And I’m very grateful we get to visit.
Other bits: The grammar was spotless, very professional, and the language has a good rhythm to it. It dances rather than flows. If I had to pick one “weakness” it might be the over-arching plot, but I don’t know. On one hand, it takes it’s time, on the other hand that’s sort of the point of this type of story.
Anyway, if you’re looking for a fun, feel-good escape, but one with a bit of an edge, I highly recommend!

Strap yourself in for a lot of laughs in a wacky world ruled by magical lesbians ready to skin a mythic level dragon for "lab boots"!
This is a great little comedy that starts strong and leans heavy into absurd random humor without losing in the "world building" aspect. The characters are all hilarious and fun to be around, and more than a few times, I found myself sending quotes of the story to friends because I was laughing too hard to NOT share.
Some of the grammar is a bit rough in places but forgivable, and I never had trouble understanding what was going on.
Be ready for plenty of giggles and a definite good time as we get to enjoy a magical girl with entirely too much magic and only a partial idea of what's going on, forced to navigate a society of women whose common solution to problems is simply, "Tactical nuke" -- at least, until they start on each other. Then it's all backstabbing (and maybe flirtation?) with a hint of utilitarian tentacles and just a dash of considering how to cheat their way through exams when seducing the examiner isn't an option.
    Can't wait to read more!

Dude okay so The Lamp That No Longer Shines. Weird title I know. Just stay with me.So there's this woman Hathaway right. She used to design video games. Like actual AAA games. Then she ends up in a fantasy world and gets handed this character with absolutely insane stats. We're talking god-tier numbers. Broken build. The kind of thing that would get nerfed immediately if this was an actual game. But here's the thing. She has no clue how to use any of it. None. Zero muscle memory. No instincts. Just big scary numbers and an empty brain where the skills should be.I can't stress enough how funny this is. Everyone looks at her and sees some mysterious genius who's clearly holding back. In reality she's having a full panic attack trying to figure out what button does what. It's giving developer who pushed to production without testing and is now watching everything catch fire in real time. And that's literally how she thinks about magic too. Spells are broken code. Potions are hotfixes. Every fight is just her trying to patch things before the whole system crashes. As someone who has seen the light leave a programmer's eyes at 2am this spoke to me personally. There's also jokes about her family being "human flashlights" that got me good. It's funny but stuff can still go wrong. People bleed. Stakes exist.Oh and daily updates with a backlog already written? I'm in. I'm so in.

Was expecting slop but the story is surprisingly thought out, with quite an interesting world. Characters are likeable (and i really enjoy the chemistry the main pair with each other) and the prose is decent (which makes it better than 95% of books on rr). One problem i have with the story Is that whilst the author promotes that this is a magical academy novel honestly 50 chapters in that story concept has barely been touched. The protag is IN the academy yes, but has not interacted with anything related to the school curriculum other than various small story beats. But overall its quite good, ill give it a 7.5/10.

You wanna read a professional work? Something that's been written, proofread and then edited?
A work where the plot is structured to hit all its points?
    Read this one.
It changes not only the MC but the readers as well into thinking like a Witch. It's changes you as it changes the protagonist.

The overall tone of the story is just a whole lot of bizarre and zany in the best possible way, which makes it an incredibly fun read. If I were to compare it to anything, I guess you could say that it's basically just Nichijou with witches and magic. The humor of this story is just top-notch!
Hathaway has a whole lot of magical power but doesn't have much expereince in using that power. Most of the humor is just her trying to use her OP magical powers and failing in a spectacular fashion. That makes it way more interesting than most stories with OP MCs, ones where they barely have to struggle to learn the ins and out of the OP magical powers that were suddenly given to them.
Another fun thing about this story is how callous and nonchalant Rhode and Lin treats both their magical powers and their finanical wealth, leading to Hathaway facing various moments of culture shock during her escapades with them.
Of course, as an added bonus, there is mention of hotpot (the extremely spicy kind to boot) and I do enjoy myself some hotpot. This story just gets me, you know.
All in all, I have a lot of fun reading this story. Definetely something worth checking out.

This opening arc is a highly entertaining trope-savvy power-fantasy isekai that knows exactly what it wants to be and executes that vision with confidence and consistent energy. It combines absurd escalation corporate-slave humor chuuni magical girl aesthetics and casual world-domination bragging into a very bingeable package. The biggest strengths are comedic timing voice and the sheer shameless joy it takes in flexing over-the-top power fantasies while simultaneously roasting them.
The prose style is the strongest element here and easily top-tier for web-novel or light-novel adjacent writing. It is extremely voice-driven narration that blends first-person-ish internal monologue meme phrasing gaming terminology and deliberately exaggerated chuuni descriptions. There is excellent comedic rhythm with short punchy sentences for gags longer flowing ones for escalation or world reveal and rapid perspective switches between Hathaways Earthling bewilderment and the natives casual insanity. It has a very clean command of tone shifts from awe to deflation to greed to despair to petty revenge without ever feeling jarring. Formatting flourishes system notifications internal bullet lists and stat readouts are used economically and land every time. This is polished fun-first writing that rarely stumbles stylistically.
It has a strong opening hook with the classic woke up overpowered premise executed with personality. The day-one sequence works well as a snowballing comedy of escalating disasters and power reveals from breakfast to carriage joyride to idol meeting to skydiving escape to hotpot humiliation to debt trauma to upcoming spar. Each vignette introduces new colorful side characters such as Betty Rhode Lin and Alucard and advances Hathaways understanding of her situation while keeping momentum high. The world feels lived-in and consistently arrogant in a fun way with dragons as livestock gods genocided mana as everything and bureaucracy as horror.
    It is near-flawless wit

Review Body:I came here because the author described my protagonist as a "corporate sociopath," and I wanted to see what kind of mind comes up with such a perfect description. After reading 9 chapters, I found the answer: A brilliant one.The Premise: High Liquidity, Low Motivation Hathaway von Ludwig is the spirit animal of every burnt-out executive. She possesses an obscene amount of "Capital" (42,000 M-Units) but treats it like a burden because she just wants to enjoy her dividends. The way the story frames Mana not just as energy, but asCurrency,Credit Limits, andSocial Standingis incredibly sharp. It turns a standard Isekai/Academy trope into a satirical commentary on Old Money vs. Nouveau Riche. The Characters: A Dysfunctional Board of Directors The cast is vibrant, chaotic, and heavily flawed in the best way possible.Hathaway: She isn't an OP hero; she's a walking bank vault who doesn't know the combination. Her pragmatism (throwing chili powder instead of spells) is exactly the kind of "ROI-focused" combat I appreciate.Alucard (The Dragon Archon): My personal favorite. A Dragon working as a bureaucrat, eating ghost peppers just to feel alive amidst paperwork? That is the most relatable depiction of corporate slavery I have ever read in a fantasy novel. The Dynamic: The chemistry between Hathaway (The Liar) and Victoria (The Blind/Arrogant Noble) is setting up for a fantastic "Enemies-to-Roommates" arc. The misunderstanding where "Go to Hell" was interpreted as a blessing for "Infinite Wealth" had me laughing out loud. Pure comedic gold. The Magic System: It’s All About the P/L Statement What truly impressed me was the duel with Lin. It wasn't about who had the bigger fireball; it was a lesson in Resource Efficiency. Lin beating Hathaway 13-0 using basic cantrips was essentially a market correction—proving that having a massive budget (Mana) means nothing if your operational efficiency is trash. The Verdict:The Lamp That No Longer Shinesis a masterclass in magical

Leaving a review because this story hit arc 1 and i can genuinely say its a good read.We all know (and most of us love) the isekai plot. This particular story is a real blend of fun, no copy and paste. Besides that even as a binger i can see the sincerity the author has to fix their world and make a tangible.

Throws you into the action quick. Characters seem pretty silly in a great way. If the pacing can keep up, it'll be pretty solid. Our MC gets overpowered practically immediately and is going to have to learn to hold back. Political issues are built up within the first handful of chapters while we get to learn more of the world. There does seem to be a non-insignificant amount of crossover with our world which leads entertainment value. Not my vibe though unfortunately so dropping
