Decades of cooperation shattered within moments, as gargantuan beasts descended from the skies and arose from the darkest corners of their world. Creatures that have been eschewed by providence throughout their lives, rising up to take out their fury on the inhabitants of Hashvan. And Gabriel Kavenhull, a thriving scholar at The Academy of The Fallen Arts and an adept necromancer, is forced to adapt to this apocalyptic lifestyle. Could his necromancy, paired with the efforts of the remaining survivors of his race, be enough to stop the invaders? Or will Hashvan fall to the foreign terror?

I read up on your works, Shad, and saw that you wrote this when you were just sixteen. This is a marvelous short story, and it's incredible that you became an award-winning published author at 16. I love the changing perspectives and the way that we get to see your character's view, then his journal, then his view again.
